Aiden just gave a short, dark laugh, "Whatever. No one cares what I do. Dad just doens't like it when I disobey him, it's not about whether I could've been hurt or not."

"Aiden, that's not true," Severus said sternly. "Your father and I do care about what you do. He doesn't like when you disobey him because a lot of his rules are there to protect you."

Aiden just grunted and kept working. He wasn't Hecate, or Elliot with their cuteness, or Maura with his bloody vulnerability, he saw no reason for them to care. It wasn't him being a pessimest. Well, it was a bit, but a part of him wanted them to stop caring.

Severus seemed to be able to sense what the other was thinking. "We care because you're our child, Aiden. I may not be your actual mother, but that doesn't mean I love you any less. You're my child too."

Aiden just sighed and kept rolling dough. After a few moments, he said, "...I want to move out."

Severus looked at him, his ears lowering slightly. He tried his best to keep from looking like he'd been hurt, but it did show in his eyes. He quickly lowered his eyes, hiding his face behind his hair.

"I'm moving out as soon as I find a place, Dad's already said yes," Aiden said, moving onto his next bit of dough. "He's sick of me being here, and so's everyone else. And frankly, so am I."

Severus narrowed his eyes. "He said he was sick of you being here?" he asked, rather defensively. How could Sirius say something like that?! "Not everyone is, Aiden. I'm not.. But then again, I don't count for much, do I?"

"He didn't say it, he didn't have to," Aiden said, moving to wash off his hands, "If you don't, then I know where I get it from," he said, his voice dull now, rather than annoyed.

He could feel the tears coming to his eyes. He quickly looked away, his face hidden behind his hair. "..." Aiden's words felt like they were tearing him apart...

"He's only condition was that I don't live too far away, and I don't ask for money," Aiden said, giving a small shrug. He could smell the tears, and he felt just a little bad.
