soadshuyin A notice for all ye who hold CloTi to be more believable than ClAeris: From the trailer I posted on the main page, it seems that theyre going to fully take advantage of the ZAeris pairing! Booya for our cause!!
heres a line from utada hikaru's first love:
even if someday I fall in love with someone else
I'll remember to love, you taught me how
basically I think that since zack was aerith's first love she will always have a place for him in her heart. because he was her first love he taught her how to love someone and she will love him for that. but also in the song it says if I fall in love with someone else. this shows getting over zack and falling in love with cloud. and now heres time to sum it all up, to anyone who's read full moon wo sagashite aerith is in a position similar to mitsuki
ok fastforward and in the end she loves takuto but she will always love her first love eichi not in the same as she used to because she loves takuto in that way but she will love the eichi that taught her to love
make sense no?
overall aerith will always love zack but not in the same way as she did originally because she has fallen in love with cloud.
I think that square wants to show this whole concept of always loving zack not romatically and then becoming friends in the end : D ....the end

You know, she's right in a sense. Just because Zaeris used to be doesn't mean CloTi is an inevitability.
But, you gotta realize this, Bro-Man. It's all about how you interpret stuff, okay?
Like you say how she may love Zack, but now loves Cloud but will keep him close in her heart, it can shoot the other way around, too. After Aeris' death, Cloud could have loved Aeris, but whether or not he moves on to Tifa or doesn't move on at all is interpreted by the followers of a couple.
ZAeris, CloTi, Cleris, they are all paths of the FF fans. Each one could happen, each one has there own back up and proofs, but just because one thing doesn't mean that another will not happen.
Zaeris had happened, and CloTi and Cleris could have happened. How much love was between the two in each of the couples should be determined by the fans, but should not be said to be inevitable as well as impossible. Least there should be real evidence of it being really impossible, like Scarlet and Godo or Nanaki and the Don.
I dunno, just ranting, just ranting...

It's true that Zeris doesn't define Cloti.......just puts more of a twist on the Cleris relationship.....Ayyyy......who does Aeris really love....Zack or Cloud? She may say she loves Cloud, "more than her first love", but is she lying to herself? After all, all the behavior of Cloud when it comes to walking even, she remembers, but only to find out that they belong to Zack since he appeared when she thought about it. If Aeris knew that Zack died in the first place, it would be love beyond death I'm sure. Well, now that they are both dead, I wonder what they might be doing. I'm tired of ranting......

Here what I think about Aeris's love for Cloud.
In the beginning she obviously only liked Cloud because she saw so much of Zack in him, then when we get to the date she realizes that he's nothing like Zack and wants to get to know him, then she dies and we now come to 'The Maiden who travels the planet' where she all of a sudden she starts going on about how she loves Cloud more then Zack bla bla bla, then finally she gets to see who Cloud really is when she, watches him and Tifa in the life streem sequence. After that it says that Aeris was surprised to find out the real Cloud and she watched over him like a motherly gaze. This also goes right in line with the way she was acting and talking to Cloud in Advent Children. So yes Aeris dose love Cloud but in a motherly way. Here is passage from 'The Maiden' to make my point clear.
And so, Tifa accomplished the task. Collating her own memories with that of Cloud's, she looked for the things that only the real Cloud could know. Proofing it all, the closed door was opened. Not leaving Soldier allowed Jenova's power that was implanted in Cloud to copy the Soldier traits of his close friend, Zacks. Drawing out the deep memories that were firmly clammed up inside all of that, she reconstructed his original character instead of the fake character he created to protect himself.
"You did it, Tifa. Thank you... I'm a little jealous of you but, do take care of Cloud and the upper world."
Tifa embraced Cloud tightly as he returned to his senses. Aerith watched as both of them returned to the surface while smiling like an affectionate mother.

This really suggests that Tifa and Cloud are more like family, like brother and sister, rather than like lovers. Tifa feels motherly towards Cloud, (which is a sweet touch) and is proud of him, but there is no mention of any romantic feelings on either side - even though we're seeing events through Tifa, she never mentions her love for Cloud, or her hopes for a relationship. It looks like family is more important to her than a romantic relationship.

The relationship that Tifa and Cloud have is that of an established closeness, which is viewed as a family by you. Its viewed as a different kind of relationship to us, as CloTi believers.

The physical, real world. Aeris is forever within the Lifestream, which is below ground, so upper world could very easily mean above ground.

Tifa is amused that he could act such a child so feeling like a mother would what Aeris and Tifa would feel. Except Aeris can't be there to experience Cloud going through changes. Whether you feel they are siblings is your opinion. I see more of Aeris acting like a mother than Tifa though.
