Naruto smiles happily and nods, grabbing the blanket from where she had let it drop and he put it on his shoulders, grabbing Rikku and sitting her in his lap so he can wrap the blanket around both of them. He would probably get the stuff to make s'mores after the sun set, but he was just happy to sit here with her.

Leaning back into Naruto happily she wraps her arms around his & breathes in the scent of him. "This is nearly as good s kissing you, 'Ruto."
The barest hint of changing color starts to spread slowly across the sky & Rikku watches it with wonder, half wishing she could capture the moment like Relm could with her painting. She does not notice the soft sparkling glow emanating from her lavender gloved hands. The weight of the recording sphere that lands in her lap however she does notice. Pushing aside her bewilderment of where it could have come from & how it got in her lap Rikku smiles. Now she can record this moment.
Setting the sphere to record Rikku tosses it a little ways from them so that it can capture both them, & the wonders of Nature's sunset.

Naruto sighs happily, snuggling with Rikku under the blanket. He doesn't pay attention to the fact her hands glowed or that she tossed something. He watched as the sun slowly set in the horizon. He wished they could stay like this forever, just the two of them.

Perhaps it was because of the storm earlier that day, but the sunset seemed even more beautiful than that of the day before. The colors were clearer; crisper somehow. Rikku snuggled deeper into his embrace, wrapping her arms tighter around those encircling her & gave a happy sigh. Leaning her head back she rubbed her cheek against Naruto's without taking her eye off the sunset. "Beautiful." She whispered, starting to purr softly. "More beautiful... just being with you."
She barely breathed her next words, they were so quiet. "& we'll be able to hold it... forever."

Naruto nods slowly, a soft, happy smile on his face as he nuzzles Rikku's cheek with his own. He didn't take his eyes off the setting sun, not noticing the stars that were starting to peek out in the darkening sky. All he knew is he wanted this moment to last forever, with no one else but him and Rikku, wrapped in a blanket and each other. He didn't think he could be any happier.

Rikku loved the contrast of the setting sun against the growing expanse of night. Trelweny had told her an old tale about the stars being holes in a great blanket & it amused her to be thinking of that even if only for a moment. The sun disappears over the horizon & she gazed thoughtfully at the stars, pulling her knees up to their arms.
"I suppose we could make s'mores sometime now." She comments, making no motion to move. "I wonder if the ground is dry enough to sleep outside under the stars again. Wouldn't that be nice?"

Naruto closed his eyes for a moment, taking in Rikku's scent and loving the way it seemed to mix with his. He snaps his eyes open when he hears Rikku speaking and he looks about. He debated whether or not to let Rikku go so he could go get the s'more fixin's or just sit there for a little while longer. "Don't know, it might be, and even if it gets cold, we can put the blanket over the sleeping bag to keep us warm." he says softly. He sighs to himself, extracting himself from Rikku so he can head into the tent to get what they need to make some s'mores for themselves.

With a light shiver Rikku goes to collect the sphere she had tossed & turns off the recording. Taking the blanket & sphere back to the fire she pokes at it a bit. The fire has died down & the flames flicker low to the ground but the heat from it is intense. Rikku can see a bit of hardwood glowing brightly in the center & suspects it is the source of the heat. All the good. Most cooking over a fire was better over low fires than high fires, no matter how pretty the large fires could get.
Sitting down with the blanket Rikku toggled the sphere to play back so that she could watch it while waiting for Naruto to return.

A few moments go by and Naruto comes back on with his pack slung over one shoulder and their combined sleeping bags rolled up and clutched in his arms. He makes his way to the fire and sets the sleepbags down close by, figuring they could roll it out when they were ready to sleep. Then he goes to sit next to Rikku and starts to take everything out that they will need to make s'mores for the night.

Although she certainly notices when Naruto returns -how could she not when her body seemed to react automatically to his presence?- the Al Bhed is transfixed with the quality of the Sphere Recording she holds in her hands. Not only that, but she had never seen how her & the Ninja looked together & she finds she quite likes it. Moving her knees up, Rikku rests her elbows upon them so that she can hold the Sphere directly in front of her face. Every once in a while she spins the softball sized sphere slowly to see a different angle or to go between watching the sunset & watching her & Naruto watching the sunset.

Naruto set everything out, glad to see they still have enough to last them tonight and probably tomorrow night if they felt up to it. He turns to Rikku to tell her everything is ready but pauses when he sees she has some type of round device in her hands. He sits closer, wanting to get a good look, quite curious to what it could be and what could be on it that has Rikku so transfixed.

Rikku has the sphere on slightly faster than normal time, so the movement of the sun is clearly visible though it does not speed through the event. Her hands cup the back of the sphere & she automatically inches closer to Naruto to snuggle into his side. The sun in the sphere is perhaps half set. The only sound, the crickets & occasionally Naruto & Rikku's soft voices.
Nuzzling her head against his cheek she smiles, even though she is mentally unaware that she moved beside him.

Naruto blinks a few times as he sees what exactly Rikku is looking at. It was...them, watching the sunset together. He wondered how she did it and why she did it, not that he was complaining. He blinks when Rikku suddenly seems to snuggle up to his side and he wraps an arm around her, "What is that?" he asks softly, hoping he won't startle her.

"A recording sphere." Naruto's presence & voice was so familiar, so expected to her that it could hardly surprise her as at peace as she was feeling. "I mentioned once that Yunie, Paine, & I were sphere hunters, right? Well... we searched for spheres like these. Old ones specifically. The older the better. This one was new. Empty. I used it to record the moment... so we could hold it forever in more than our memories. I... I'm not quite sure how I got it. I ... wanted one... something to capture the scene like Relm does with her paints... & it was there." The calm happy look on her face gives way momentarily to mild confusion.
Still thinking, Rikku continues to watch the pleasant scene. She snuggles deeper into Naruto's arms. "I wonder if I could make a duplicate... so that we both could have one."
Focused on the scene she does not notice the hands holding the sphere starting to glow.

Naruto holds her close, looking at the sphere and smiling softly. He did hope she could make a duplicate and show him how to use it cause he did want one to take home and keep, just so he could look back and remember the peace and happiness they had together at that moment. He blinks as her hands start glowing, but he thinks nothing of it for now, Rikku hadn't done anything that would harm him, he wouldn't start doubting her now.
