sleepstudent101 My school's percussion won first place top catigory for once! JEEZ! My school hates the part of the judging system where they can't give us points for playing harder music. hehe my school's known as best in VA. WOOT! and maybe the east coast...I'm not sure aah yes, I've only had one judge over four years that could give us any points at all based on Repitoire, and because of the difficulty of our book, we got 29/30. of course, due to the fact that our performance was not it's best by far, our final score there(last saturday) came out to be a 79. luckliy for us, we still took First Place overall Percussion.

I've got a question for any bass drummers:
What should I do in preparation for drumline try-outs? Are there any exercise I should learn? Are private lessons necessary?
Any information would be great.

Practice with the other bass drums passing notes would be your best bet. the basses that play the cleanest together are generally the ones that get the spot. (when you've got an inteligent director, at least.)
