@Kits - oh I did enjoy Zombie Land, a lot. I dunno if I'm ready to give the "best" title but it was up there. It's just because so many people (some of which were surprising candidates for this) were exclaiming how great it was I'd just built up expectations that couldn't really be met.

And that's true about the live action, but I dunno, I mean casting choices for a lot of non-original movies (which feels like they are most movies these days, either game - movie, book - movie, etc) seem to be so poorly done with no regards half the time to the primary source. I suppose if casting were given some measure of thought than maybe I'd prefer that too.

If I get it finished (or get enough done that I can justify putting it up and trust myself to finish it - because as my pet peeve is unfinished stories I'd absolutely hate to go there myself) I will definitely put it up and link it. Haha, dunno how good it will be but I am having fun with it. Finished chapter 2 at lunch today, I guess the upside to work is that's 30 - 45 minutes a day (during my lunch, which I sometimes include my break into if I just need more relaxing - hence the variable time frame) in which I can just write. Of course now my book (the one I had been reading during my breaks) is being neglected, oh well, haha.

Oh darn the awesome that is the interwebs... biggrin

I'm working on it, halfway through my third chapter as of lunch today. I'm going to try and finish that tonight. I'm not sure where my definition of significant progress is going to be, but I will certainly keep you posted.

Was working on chapter 8 today, though spent part of lunch talking to the mom of a girl who I had in swim lessons over the summer, and who wants to try and convince the girl to do swim team next year - and what kind of coach would I be to not try and encourage this, so didn't get as far as I'd like. However it's getting harder, falling out of dream territory (which while lacking actual plot, at least gave me something to follow) and now kind of have to decide what I want - which I don't really know. Though formulating some idea. However if I keep the pace, despite the increase in difficulty, I might just create an account and start posting it soon.

Hopefully, I finished chapter 8 today, but I wanted to do more. However my friend who has a permanent position at the location I'm sub clerical (for the next month longer or so) happened to be in the staff room at the same time I took lunch today so ended up talking. Mainly about our friend whose fighting with her fiance and freaking out about plans such as rehearsal dinner - and the ceremony is Sunday!! Probably a lot of pressure.

I think as soon as I finish sending in apps (my reference letters are finally done, my friend is picking them up Thursday so I should get those by and be done with the process Monday) I think I'll make an ff.net account and start posting it. I guess I'll have to force myself to finish somehow then, I wouldn't want to become an annoyance to myself razz .

And I think when you are trying to throw a wedding that costs more than what you have to spend it gets way stressful. As long as they don't fight the day of I think they'll be ok, at least for awhile. I dunno, try not to think about it. I mean she use to be my best (still friends, but no longer bests) and I love her but she IS a control freak, a bit arrogant and a tad selfish in addition to being oblivious (so she doesn't always get how she makes people feel at times). It wouldn't be her personality to not get tense and freaked and finicky - and I think this guy knows and understands that. In which case no problem. However if I'm wrong, or he doesn't know her quite as well as he may think, well, I'm just going to hope for the best.
