Takuha okay I will give it a go. Is this right? Yeah, perfect. 95 out of 100 on your first try... I hope you're on my side when we actually play! isidar_mithram ...two words. YUM YUM. suggestions. You may only use one 10 sided die? or 20 sided die. One of them. You specify what doctor you are attacking, and who you heal (to find out what you are healing by, divide the number you get from the roll by two. Or twelve sided dice..one for each regeneration.. If you get a decimal, round it...down I suppose, up if you roll a one? The next person to post must do the score keeping for the person above. Now I'm definitely going to kill off Colin Baker... Jan ice. xp Anyway, your idea could work, though anytime you've got any math more difficult than simple addition/subtraction, it's guaranteed that someone will screw things up at some point. So I'm not too keen on dividing. Also, using a single die to determine both the hurt and heal values means you're doubly rewarded for a good roll, or doubly punished for a bad one, so it might be better to use separate rolls for both. I'd prefer to use different dice types for hurting/healing, but you can't roll more than one type in a single post (though you can roll multiple dice of the same type). Though I guess we could always just split the dice rolls over separate posts.

But if we split it, people will be discouraged. Hold on, does it not tell you what numbers you actually got? IT does, doesnt' it. In that case, roll two dice. The first number is the healing, the second is the subtraction. Here is an example:
Yum Yum: 10 Colin Baker: 10
(Note: either could be destroyed, this is a fair trial.)
I heal Colin, attack indigestible Yum Yum. Wish me luck!

Okay. 20 and 18. So I add 20 to Colin, take 18 from indigestible Yum Yum.
Yum Yum: -8 (DEAD) Colin Baker: 30
Oh dear, Hairy Priest (indigestible Yum Yum) is not going well against Baker, is he?

This dice thing could work. I think you'd need to keep it down in the sixes or so. Also you'd need to increase the overall health of the Doctors a bit so they can't be killed in two rolls...
I'm not sure about getting the next person along to add the scores. Surely you can edit the main text of your post with the dice roll and put the scores in? Or everyone does two posts, one with the roll and one with the scores they've changed. There might be arguments if we have to rely on each other. Or at least endless confusion.
Also no division. My head aches enough with the adding of ones and twos. Though being able to split your rolls (like you could split your -2 before) might work... or it might just be fairer to say no, attack just one and heal just one.

Splitting points will make things more confusing, methinks. As for two posts (one for the roll, the other with the new scores), that could work. How does everyone else feel about that?
And we need to pick the dice type and number of starting points. In the original game, a character could be eliminated in five turns (-2 per turn, 10 points starting). I suggest the following beginning values... I'm not sure if they're too high or low.
d4 = 20 d6 = 30 d8 = 40 d10 = 50 d12 = 60 d20 = 100
Using these point values, the fastest anyone could be eliminated is 5 turns (assuming max die roll), though on average it would be between 8-10 turns, not counting the effects of healing.

Yes, you could edit your post. I agree to the beggining values. But I suggest we do not start thing game for awhile..sicne we just finished. And preferrable not when the holidays come and people will be able to mercilessly slaughter Colin Baker..

20-sided sounds cool, but the thought of starting with 100 points seems intimidating.
Why don't we do a little test run before the real thing, just to see if this will work?
Battle of the Mods!!!
Rules: Roll two 6-sided dice. Add the result of one roll to the person of your choice, and subtract the other roll from another person. Anyone falling to 0 or less is eliminated. You can note your changes either by editing your original post, or giving the new totals in a new post.
