For some reason, Max felt compelled to make a trip down to the park today. He actually hadn't been to this part of the city before, so he had no idea why he felt that today in particular he had to be out of the house. Yesterday was a little, er, unfulfilling, with him searching for someone without any sort of clue where they might be. Well, at least he got to meet one of his neighbors, who seemed nice enough from the small amount of time they spent together. Well, anyways, it was about time that he saw what this side of the city had to offer, despite it being rather chilly today. Strolling through the park with his hands in the pockets of his puffy coat, he hummed a soft tune to himself as he looked around the area. He'd always liked the sight of snow-covered ground, but he still wasn't used to the chill it brought along with it.
As he scanned the area, he saw someone sitting alone on a wooden bench. The woman looked oddly familiar to him, but he couldn't quite put his finger on it... No, wait, it couldn't be... Could it? He walked closer to where she was sitting, trying not to make it too obvious he was approaching. He wanted to make sure that his mind wasn't playing tricks on him. It'd be kinda embarrassing running up to a stranger and hugging them, wouldn't it? But, this was definitely who he thought it was: Rayen! He couldn't help but burst out into a small dash, smiling at his long lost friend. "Rayen! Oh my god, it's so good to see you!"

Lerista had a rough morning. Trying to adjust to a larger group of people was...uneasy for him to say least. His empathy made it hard for him to deal with many people since he could feel each of them emotionally. But he had to admit, getting the chance to meeting humans was intriguing to say the least...though he found his distaste for anyone in a suit still held strong. So he had sought some relief.
Entering the park with cherry blossoms he felt a sense of nostalgia since it reminded him of home. To see them fall about him even as the cold air sent a cool wave through his clothes was something that he missed. He walked further in, with a lot on his mind, and found a bench to take a seat at and sat down. He tilted his head upward and closed his eyes, letting the sound and smells brush over his keen senses and simply relaxed all alone.

Rayen was relaxing on the park bench, finding that the cool breeze felt nice against her skin. She had stretched her body before she got too relaxed and sleepy, and was about to get up before she heard someone call out her name. She stared at the person coming towards her in confusion, but it quickly turned into a feeling of a happy surprise when she recognized him. "Max! Man, it's been so long since I've last seen you!" She said, going towards him, and giving him a quick hug. "It's been what, five years?" Taking a step back, she inspected him, noticing that he had gotten taller. They look all grown up now! Well, that is what half a decade does to a person. Now she was a lot happier! Someone she knew! Where does she even start? "I mean, how have you been? What have you been up to?" She asked excitedly, wanting to know what her one real friend did over these past five years. Of course, she's made some nice connections over the years, she wasn't a complete loner. Like Katey, her nutritionist, but Ray just enjoys annoying her when she doesn't eat the food she prescribes.
Maxwell happily returned the hug, humming contently as he did so. It felt so good to see someone he recognized, and for it to be one of his closest friends like Rayen just made it that much better. After being separated from pretty much everyone he considered close for upwards of half a decade was awful, and reconnecting felt like a dream come true. "I know! I can't believe it's actually you!" he said excitedly. Looking over his old friend as she did the same to him, he noticed while many things about her had changed, so too did many things stay the same. Funny how these kinds of things work, right?
As she asked him about what he'd been doing for the past five years, he let out an exasperated chuckle. "Oh man, where do I begin?" He moved beside Ray and sat down on the bench she'd once been sitting on, patting the spot beside him as he smiled gently at her. "Well, I guess it's story time!" he said with a chuckle. "You might wanna sit, this might take a while."

Priya continued to sing as she walked slowly along, the sound entrancing to anyone within hearing range. She was lost in thought, wondering what she would do today.
Her mind went to the gentleman she met at the hospital yesterday. His smile made her smile. She enjoyed helping others when she could.

Ray giggled when he let out that chuckle and spoke; it seems like he's been through a lot lately. She followed him back to the bench and sat relatively close to him, as she was super interested in what he had been doing. It's so nice to see him after all these years! A little memory of how they met came back to her, with him being as gentlemanly and nice as he always was to her. She was really was glad she was friends with him. It was the first real time she grew to trust someone, and actually want to keep in touch with that person. It sucked that they had been separated for so long, and that they probably missed out on a lot of stuff together, but at least they can start making up for it now! Maybe she could actually invite someone to her house! That huge place has only had one person in it: herself. Save for the occasional visit from Katey, but she never stayed long, and it was always to lecture her! It'd be good to see how she and her place functions when she has an actual friend over!
"I'm ready when you are." Ray said playfully. What had he been up to?
Max took in a deep breath, in and out, like he was about to tell her the story of a lifetime. Perhaps it was? He certainly didn't feel that way, but there certainly were some points of interest in there somewhere. "Alright, so!" he huffed out as he began his tale. He first told her about what had led him to go out and do all of this, a yearning to see the world that'd been hidden from him by his parents during his time on the island, the world that had been sampled to him by the brief amount of time he'd spent at Koizora. After he'd managed to save up enough money by doing odd jobs around the island, he set off on his little world tour, spending a good three years out and about. He wouldn't bore her with all of the minutia, as that'd probably take another three years in itself, but he'd tell her about such nuggets as the karate instructor he'd met during his stay in Hong Kong, who seemed a bit off, but taught him quite a bit when it came to the martial arts. He'd also tell her about the numerous friends he'd met throughout the world; though he couldn't quite understand most of them, and none of them were quite as close to him as Rayen were (a fact he was sure to note), it was still an eye-opening experience to experience all of these different cultures from within.
"But, that's enough about me," he said with a weary huff as he wrapped up his tale, "What've you been up to, Ray?" He was quite curious himself what she'd been doing for the past five years, and yes, what kind of situation she was in nowadays. He'd wished all this time that he'd had some way to keep in contact with her and the rest of his friends before he left Koizora, but he was a bit technologically impaired at the time, so unfortunately he didn't have a method of contacting her throughout these five long years.

Rayen straightened her back a little when Max began to speak, preparing herself to listen to Max's story. She was surprised with the amount of stuff he did; he traveled the world! It must have been seeing all those places, especially if you grew up like he did! He even went all the way to Hong Kong! She had traveled a lot when she was a little kid, but lately, she hasn't gone far, except for vacations. A light pink came to her cheeks when he mentioned that the new people he met weren't as close to him as she was, which made her very happy. It was hard to imagine that she was kinda antisocial when she was younger.
"That's amazing.." Rayen said, after he had finally finished speaking. "What have I been up to? Well, it's not as grand as travelling the world, but I did stuff." Ray started off with her taking more MMA classes, and how she began to grow a love for the sport after she had graduated. Then she'd tell him about how she had gotten noticed by a trainer at a tournament, which was the birth of her professional career. She had done better than she thought she would've, had an excellent wins to losses ratio, and actually got a little popular. Her tone became bitter for a second as she began to tell him about how, during one of her matches, her opponent got her in a hold and deliberately tried to break her leg. While the referee was able to break it up and disqualify her, Ray's ankle was still badly injured, and she would never fight again. It wasn't all that bad though, when she began to tell him how she sued the heck outta that girl, and got a lot of money from that case, on top of the money she got from matches that she won.
"So, I work as a personal fitness trainer, though I have been thinking of getting a second job, and I live up in Lumiere now." She ended with a sigh and a smile. "I'm so glad we were able to find each other again!" Ray said, and gave him another hug. Despite a lot of things, they met up again. How lucky for them!

Lerista had turned a bit on his bench and laid out straight, stretching all but a few parts of himself, and that by itself irritated him. Feeling his tail and ears want to stretch as well, he refrained from doing so because it would bring attention. Groaning softly he opened up his eyes to watch the cherry blossoms dance around him almost playfully. The sound of singing could be heard with his keen ears and he felt one twitch by itself in the direction of that singing, closing his eyes as he let the melody wash over his senses.
He had to stretch, there was no other way. So he shifted a bit and let his tail slide out the side of the bench and flick in the cold wind. He stretched it out and the fur fluffed out a little bit, and he groaned in relief. It always felt so cramped in those pants he didnt know how humans did it. But then again they didnt have to deal with a nice bushy tail. Without realizing it, he started humming the same tune that the other woman was singing, leaving his eyes closed as he did so.
After his long-winded story had concluded, Max slumped down somewhat, though his gaze never wavered from Rayen's as she told him about her past five years. "Wow, I can't believe I'm talking to a pro fighter right now!" he said with an almost fangirlish tone as she told him about her career. Ever since his sensei taught him about the art of fighting, he'd always wanted to test his mettle in the pro circuit, but he'd never be that good, especially with the quack of an instructor he'd learned from. But wow, he was really proud of Rayen for chasing her dreams. His expression soured to a minor scowl as she told him about the girl who tried to bust her leg, but he cheered up a bit when she mentioned the massive amount of money she got out of the dirty fighter. "Well, hey, gotta get that fight money somehow, right?" he joked. "And hey, maybe you can help me out with my flab later?" he said as she mentioned her current job, patting his rather flat stomach with a chuckle, "That's a good excuse for me coming over sometime, right?" After she'd concluded, he returned her hug, wrapping his arms around his long-lost friend with a contented sigh. "I'm glad, too... I missed you so much."

Lerista had lain there for what felt to him to be hours, but hadnt been nearly that long. His long tail swished through the air and dusted the ground beneath the bench. He was tired of hiding his tail, he adored it and it felt cramped when placed into his belt line. So just before he got up he twined his fingers and laced an illusion around his tail, hiding it from plain sight and making it seem like it was part of his already baggy type clothes. So as he stood his tail was still free and he grinned a bit to himself. He turned from the bench and started to make his way towards town, humming a soft melody to himself as he did. His daggers were well hidden within his sleeves and his katana was placed in a way to hide its appearance.
As he walked towards town he caught an interesting smell and turned to follow it.

Rayen was very content as Max hugged her back, remembering how close they ended up getting at their time at high school. It brought up a little bit of the feelings she was starting to develop for him, but she just brushed it off for now. "Me too." She said with a smile. Ray moved away a few seconds later, with a happy, and slightly goofy, grin on her face. Looking up at the sky, she was surprised when it looked like it was gonna get dark soon. They must've spent a lot of time talking! That doesn't mean it's time to head home though! "Hey, there's still some time in the day, do you want to go someplace else? We could go to my house, or, err, anywhere, really." She said, becoming embarrassed when she realized she had just invited him to her house. Being honest, he would be the real first visitor to her house if she agreed, but she didn't really mind. She's just happy to be able to hang out with him once again!

He smiled back at Rayen, though his smile was a bit more reserved than hers. Not that he wasn't excited or anything, because trust me, he was, he just felt a warmth that he hadn't felt in a long time, and that elicited a more warm, comforted reaction from him. He let out another contented sigh, scanning over the park idly. Yes, it was getting kinda late, wasn't it? As Rayen asked him what he wanted to do with the rest of the day, he let out a happy chuckle. Even after all these years, Max was still a pro at reading people, and Ray's somewhat flustered reaction to her own words clued him in to the old flame that was being rekindled. The chuckle wasn't in mocking, because he was definitely starting to feel that way again, judging by the faint pink shading on his face (which, in the darkened lighting, was almost invisible). It was more like he was happy to see his feelings returned, if just nonverbally at the moment.
"Go somewhere, well, eh... I don't exactly know anything in this town..." Now, this definitely wasn't a lie, as Max had just moved to Soleil a couple of weeks ago, though it would probably come off as an excuse to visit Rayen's house. To be fair, though, he probably was going to visit at some point, frequently if he had his way, why not start now? "I wouldn't mind going to your house. Gotta see how people on the upper end live, y'know?" he said jokingly. He'd never been to the Lumiere district, but he knew it was the more, er, ritzy side of town. Despite his joking, he was eager to spend more time with Ray, and what better way to spend it than in a more quiet (not to mention warmer) environment?

Rayen smiled playfully when Max laughed, thinking that he was making fun of her. However, she found it to be infectious at the moment, and ended giggling as well. "I don't know many places 'round here either." She said, still all smiley. Maybe they could explore the city together one day? That'd be fun! "Eh, I'm probably not as fancy as my neighbors, so I hope I don't disappoint." Ray got up from the bench and stretched for a second, ready to head home. With that grin still plastered on her face, "This way home!"
