"Yes, let's. Quickly." She made a point to emphasize as she stood, heading towards the door and doing her absolute best not to look at the nightmare demon.
Unfortunately, her best wasn't enough. She had shot a glance over her shoulder. She caught that pleading look.
Riyo turned her head forward momentarily and bit her thumb. It was cosmic justice, really. Titus was getting just what he deserved. She was loyal enough as it was. The feline had proven she was ready to take a bullet for him, but that right there was a different kind of bullet.
Riyo stood still in front of the door, cringing and tapping her foot as she fought with herself. Don't interfere, she told herself. Let it play out, she told herself.
"I'm sorry Akubi." She knew she was holding him up. "If you have a nap deadline to meet, don't let me keep you."
The ghoul then turned around on her heel, folded her arms, and shot Titus a look. Her head shaking said hell no, but her eyes said 'make me an offer I can't refuse.'
Riyo didn't do charity work, after all. Everything had a price.

Well it appeared he had not only been spotted, but that she was also quite desperate to speak with him as well. Wrath did not move from his spot on the wall, though he did reach down to a flask at his hip and raise it to his lips for a long swig. The contents burned all the way down, and left a pleasantly warm feeling in the pit of his stomach. "It is nice to you see as well, Hel!" His voice boomed, and he let out a throaty chuckle, reaching up to gently pull her finger down so that it was no longer pointed at him but instead towards the ground. "Ahhh, well you see, we have been provided with a new home, one that no longer requires us to live off of the charity of Halloween Town." He reached up with his free hand to scratch at his beard with a metal claw, before letting out a loud sigh. "But I am afraid there are some who chose not to join us. Poor lost souls. They are likely living among the rest of you by now, and I imagine have been weakened by the disconnect." As to the location of Salbei.... "I see him often, actually." He gave a large grin. "He is allowing me into his home more and more often, lately." What he neglected to add on was the fact that each time this occurred, he was always nearly killed by one sort of poison or another, but those were details he was happy to keep to himself. It was such a beautiful relationship that they shared. "Drink?" He asked, suddenly holding the flask out towards her and waggling it back and forth.

An almost skeletal hand reached out and intercepted the flask before it could be properly passed off.
"I'll take that, thank you." In a quick motion the flask was recapped, and even faster was tucked away into one of the many, many folds of clothes that obscured majority of the Horseman's shape. "You should know better than to offer alcohol to minors." Salbei scolded Wrath first, his red eyes narrowed and disapproval, and then he looked towards Hel, and offered a small smile. He even raised his arms slightly, as if expecting a hug.
"You look startlingly terrifying, dear girl."

Jack damn it all Riyo was heading for the door and making a hasty escape and leaving him with nothing just like Hel. Friends, what were they even good for? Oh the nightmare demon would remember this. Say farewell to pleasant and peaceful dreams at nig- Riyo had turned back toward him again and Titus couldn't help but feel a small spark of hope bloom. He shifted the baby to a one arm hold, his now free hand raising with a questioning glance. ' What the hell do you want from me?' Why the hell did she always want something? He was not in this for making contracts and owing favors. With a frown he cast a glare at the feline. Fine, be that way he'd keep the damn brat and shove him off on someone else. It was just a matter of who.

Hel didn't appreciate her finger being put down, and she raised it back up to jab at him, narrowing her eyes more before she stopped, her hand falling to her side in a loose fist. That small annoyance was forgotten though in favor of, finally, answers. Her lips were a bit parted as she was informed. The horsemen had been given a new home? " Where!?" She demanded. "How do I get there!?" The strays didn't matter to her at the moment, and she couldn't help but look a bit disturbed and exasperated as he spoke about Salbei and how often he saw him, but, at least Gramps was okay, it seemed, and that was all she could ask for-- Actually, she was about to take that flask for a swig, but-- Her eyes widened again as she stared at a very familiar hand, and her entire head turned to follow it as it took back the flask. It was weird, but for some reason, her heart felt light and fluttering and...all kinds of stupid emotions and one she supposed was called giddy, as her eyes roamed up the collection of robes to his face. Hel stared at the Famine sage a bit wide eyed, and unblinking for a long moment, frozen. Finally, she cocked her head to the side, and she crossed her arms, releasing a sigh. "Yanno, Gramps--" She started, sounding like she was about to tell a scareling a lesson. "It is rude to just go off without telling someone where you are going, especially if you are going to be gone for a while! They worry, ya?" Not her though. No. She wasn't worried at all. Hel held up that front for a moment before she unwound her arms and then launched herself at Salbei, wrapping her arms tightly around the laundry pile and burrowing in for a crushing hug.

It had been a little while since the last festival, with the swirl of people and foods and prizes around the booths. Sorrow had the most fun at the obstacle course.
She loved to run.
The best thing about running was that nobody had to pay for it. Nobody charged you to take a jog. For new sneakers, sure. And hers were old. But water and rocks and land, nobody made that. It was all there, for everybody. The school had a ton of paths, and they wound everywhere. Out to town. Through the woods. She'd started in the gym, but she got bored with the artificiality. The rocks there were cement, processed and watered down and churned up. They had their own chalky and pushed down taste.
The other rocks, the ground dirt, that had a different story.
The naturally-grown cemetery stones were young, but wrought in fresh agony. The stones in the wood were like journeymen, spat out from distant shores and earthly seafloors. The in between places.
Nothing had been like the marble at the Hall. Those stones had laughed. It wasn't nice laughs, either. The bracelet on her wrist felt less like a laugh and more like a smile.
And now she was here.
Sorrow covered her ears, even though it wouldn't help. The whole building was shaking, and she could hear it through her feet. She had a hole in the front of her sneaker, and when her claws rattled against the gymnasium floor, her legs did not turn the same color. It was wood, not rock. She drew up her claws closer to the rubber and fabric anyway. There were rocks under it. Vibrating like this was dangerous, deep down. Like the whole place would shake right apart.
And each student shook too, shook like a molecule of fear, and the lights flashed and the whole thing was like a storm with a thousand colors.
The Council candidate with the running course hadn't won.
There had been an auction. Sorrow hadn't made it. She could have signed up, or bought, with tokens...what would she do with another creature? What would another person do with her? Maybe take them out on a run. Or like, peace out, for a while. Somewhere away from all the vibrating. Where they could like, become one with all the little and quiet feelings, out and away from everything that was messed up.
Messed up, and expensive.
Sorrow hugged her jacket closer to herself. She was new. They'd been good. So far the only trade she'd learned was breaking and entering, and while long sharp claws were good for lock tumbling she wasn't sure what else she was good for. Did they pay for running? Or wood tours? She had a routine. She slept on her bed, which was comforting in that it was more like a ledge. She gargled rocks and ground her teeth. She ate. She ran. She slept.
She should have been talking more, she knew. But she didn't have anybody to talk at, or anybody to listen to. Rocks aside. But that was less listening and more becoming. Her scales shifted, but didn't turn, as reflective as an iris contracting.

Wrath didn't really mind that she continued to jab a finger into his chest, because he barely felt it. His head was swimming in booze (at least he hoped it was just booze and that the famine sage hadn't snuck something else into it), and well, rock hard muscles had their advantages, after all. "Ah well, you see.." He began, ready to tell her that it didn't really matter where their new home was, because she couldn't actually go there, when somebody swiped away his flask. Wrath looked towards the thief, and his face quite visibly fell. "But she is hardly a minor, Salbei!" He complained loudly, his voice like the rumble of thunder. "And you said that I could have that for all of my good behavior." He smiled broadly (really it was more of a leer), and winked at the other horseman. But than it looked like some kind of family reunion time, and Wrath watched with a face that fell utterly neutral. He had no family anymore, his parents and multiple siblings all gone. The pain he felt in his heart was swift, and nearly crippling as he watched the interactions between the two of them. Slipping a hand into the front of his fur lined vest, he pulled out a second flask, unscrewed the lid, and took a very, very long swig. That aught to help.

As they reentered the gym, Deszeld immediately sought Hollandaise. She saw the ghoul, and her tongue rasped her lips as she tasted the air. The green's wings flared abruptly as she allowed herself to be dragged out onto the dance floor - and the instant that the music picked up, Des threw herself into the beat and hum, the swell and flow of the bodies on the dance floor. She could absolutely see the appeal of music that Aisha had explained.

Mia wouldn't have been surprised if a lot of students didn't know who she was. She hadn't exactly been a social butterfly (pardon the pun). But surely she knew she was on the student council... right? She might have been a little sad if she didn't, but, she supposed it couldn't be helped. This was only their first event, and they would definitely make themselves more known through more events. Yes, this was just the beginning!
It wasn't hard to tell the ghoul wasn't entirely impressed, but Mia held it in stride. Baby steps, baby steps... "Ah, yes! I admit I'm usually more used to quieter settings, but it's fun watching the other students enjoy themselves." She then turned to Cannon, fluttering nervously. "U-um, please don't eat me..."

Aisha threw herself into the dancing. She felt so much better with the music pumping around her. She was even looking forward to kissing Des, no matter how deliberate and planned it was. She really just thought it would be a fun little dig at Hollandaise; non-malicious. The zombie inched closer to Des in her gyrating, she didn't want to look for Holly and be obvious. She'd leave that to the taller dragon. Aisha grabbed Deszeld's hand to move with her.

"And I assure you, had I the chance, I would have." He assured the ghoul scolding him with the same, easy smile. His arms remained open, knowing that she would cave eventually and give him what he was looking for. It had been too long, and he knew her better than to believe any posturing she put on for the sake of argument.
When she finally did hug him, he lowered his arms to wrap them around her with surprising strength, the various trinkets in his hair clicking together as he lowered his head to touch his nose to the top of hers.
"I missed you too, troublemaker." He murmured to his most annoying halloween student ever, with a smile that he knew she wouldn't be able to see.
"She is a minor, and I said you could have it." Salbei's oddly kind-sounding words were muffled at first, what with his head being down and all, but they grew clear as he lifted his head to give a rather unimpressed stare at the muscled fiend. "You weren't meant to share." He smiled away, and leaned away from Hel's crushing embrace.
"And you, to be safe, do not accept anything he offers you." He warned, with all the paternal care he could muster, as he pat the top of Hel's head.

After some slightly stilted dancing Alexander seemed to stop of his own accord, and Yin gratefully did not protest as he halted practically mid-movement. The idea of a drink sounded like, well, like it might take up time. Time not spent dancing. "Getting a drink sounds like a wonderful idea," Yin said with a smile. "It is convenient that we are already so close to the refreshments."As a matter of fact, they were rather close to the refreshment table. A frown crossed Yin's face as he tried to remember how they got there. Maybe they had moved a bit while dancing, though he really did not remember that part. "Did you want to try an activity after we have a drink?" He had arrived late and unprepared, he really had no idea what else there was to do.

Yin had arrived late, that was true, but after having gotten not one but two dances out of the boil, Alexander was having a hard time remembering why he should have even had any reason to complain. Smiling, he held his hand out towards Yin again, and began to lead him towards the refreshment table....if by shuffling along slowly that was to be considered leading. "I think there are a few games over here as well, if you'd like to try a few of them out." He still had to shout to be heard

Hel might have said something about 'trying harder to tell her', but if she did, it was not audible through the layers and layers that Salbei wore. The returned hug, the touching gesture, and the murmur, was making her all.... ugh warm and happy inside. All was pretty much (almost) right with the world, and that little corner she had tucked her worry about the Famine sage had dissipated and left her feeling at ease. Granted, she knew he'd be fine no matter where he went, but still, it was nice to know. As he leaned away, Hel loosened her hold and pulled away as well, only to rest her fists on her hips, and gasped. "Gramps!" She exclaimed. " I am an adult!" Then, realizing that's what unruly teens said to their parents all the time, backed up the reason why. "I have graduated from the Academy, I have a full time job, I have a home, and I have bills!" That was clearly the defining factor right there. She did not protest to head pats though. Not one bit. She then looked back over at Wrath, and mustered a grin for the Death horseman. "Maybe you were sort of missed as well." She told him, glancing off in another direction as she did so, and then reached out to pat his abs. As she patted his abs, she looked back up at Salbei. "So is it good!? Your new home! Are you doing well!? Is it to your liking?" Then came the barrage of questions.

Since Titus still had the tiny reaper babe he decided to pass the time in making sure Freya and whoever would regret it later. He marched his way over to the tables lined with treats and drinks and looked for the sugariest thing he could lay his eyes on. He finally settled on a large lollipop that was probably half the size of Peder's head and plucking it up placed it by the kids mouth for him to gum on.
"There ya little weed eat up." Titus didn't really give much thought to the fact that he was creating a sticky situation for himself. All he was concerned about was giving the kid back with a sugar high.
