"Xi, right." Lex nodded, before being blasted with a torrent of questions that... didn't quite fit. He gave the girl a pat on the shoulder, bending his knees a bit to get on her eye level.
"Alright, miss Xi. You're not supposed to be awake, are you? Have you met your weapon yet?" He tilted his head as he asked, very much patronizing her on accident. "But yes, when it boils down to it, that's why I read old books. There may be some secrets hidden in them to help my friends and I beat the bad guys."
Lex cleared his throat, trying not to sound too affronted with the next rain of questioning. "And no, not an intern. You don't really... apply here. You just get hand picked." He explained in as little detail as possible. "And this is Deus Ex Machina, an island where we...fight the bad guys."

Unbeknownst to Lex, Xi was fuming. She was absolutely livid; as a superior sort of human she didn't appreciate patronizing. Her smile didn't falter, but she did blink several times behind her round glasses before assuming a better smile. Just because he was decent looking didn't mean he could mess around with her, he probably got in by looks alone to- to whatever this was.
"I don't like the term miss. That implies I am female, and I am not gender inclined any direction, mister." She very calmly backed up one step, and then suddenly feigned coyness. "Unless of course, you are into crossdressing men."
"I assume by weapon you mean a figurative term," Xi dismissed, "and by bad guys it is an analogy for research. Now for someone who knows a whole lot more than me as a senior on this island, you sure say big words without explaining anything substantial. I didn't quite catch the part where saving the world and fighting bad guys correlated, but I'm sure you're just a busy person - is there a phone I could borrow on this island of yours?"
Maebe waited, watching Alistaire carefully. Her lips twitched in a slow smile, and she nodded, pleased as punch that he was joining them. "Cee, if you'll follow me, we'll show you the world. And Marcus.."
She knew she'd have to deal with him eventually, but Edith's orders were final. "Sext me whatever you had to say later. Oh. Sorry, I meant text.. what a silly mistake." Her lips pursed just slightly in a gentle kiss, before she turned to walk away. Cee had Alistaire's hand, and she had Cee's - they made a perfect little childrens line, heading for the exit.

Melody felt it was rather appropriate and fair for her to blush like what she is essentially at the present; both a girl and being schooled. "Let's see you be flashed by someone you only just met and be perfectly fine looking directly at it," she huffed.
Just his stomach. She was not falling for that one again. "If it's really just your stomach then describe to me exactly where your weapon is located." Her mind struggled to imagine how it would even be attached there. If it was a belt he wouldn't have had to disrobe.

Dylon was starting to wonder if the humour in two little prudes blushing back and forth would go away. Honestly, it was just a body.
"Now now, sweet pea. No one was flashing any junk." He said with his hands up defensively. "His belly button, miss. Pretty sure he was talking about the jewellery on his belly button." He nodded to Harland, waiting for him to defend himself.
"Honestly you two. Are you both fresh out of elementary school? Adorable." He smirked.

It only took a few more moments for Lydia to blink back to life, the spell broken both by him quickly throwing a sweater on after giving her the shirt, as well as Shu tugging on her own, and when she did she let out a soft gasp. "Sorry, sorry! Yes, of course I'll take it, thank you. Thank you! Merci!" She reached out to take the offered shirt, clutching it tightly in her hands, her face flushing a brilliant shade of red before she blinked back over at Shu.
"Oh my I am so sorry! Also, I think it's important I say this now but shoelaces.." She leaned down, and hissed. "Are very useful. They keep your boots from falling off." Lydia gestured down to her own boots at this point, which might have been more effective if her laces had actually been tied up. "And," She continued. "You can use them to strangle peo---" She stopped herself then, realizing maybe she shouldn't finish that sentence, and her sudden, serious expression broke out into a smile instead.
"Useful. Not stupid. Shoelaces are useful." She noticed at that moment that the other two "hunters" that Shu had pointed out had approached. Or at least...she assumed it was these two. They were a lot less blurry up close then they had been further away.
Back to Dory, she smiled, and relinquished her grip on the shirt with one hand at least, offering it out towards him. "I'm Lydia. Vous avez un corps très agréable! Er...if you don't mind me...saying so...." Oh dear her face was beginning to feel quite warm again. She very abruptly buried her face in the shirt she was still holding, her hand sliding away either before Dory could shake it or directly afterwards.
He might have noticed her hand felt a bit sticky if he did shake it.
"Ahem sooooo, Shu! Would you like to show me around a bit? I should find a place where I can put this on." She asked, turning back to the smaller girl, her voice muffled from behind the shirt. She gave Mimsy a nod, and a smile that couldn't be seen, tangled curls falling in front of her eyes. "Hello."
It was rather hard to refrain from giggling at the large man that sounded a little bit like he might be inhaling his food rather then eating it.
She kept the shirt pressed to her face, quite possibly to keep hiding, but more likely because now she was quite busy smelling it.
She thought that it smelled really good, just in case anybody was wondering.

Smile becoming more neutral and pupils dilating, Lex held his hands up in surrender. "Got it, got it. Just Xi, then." He nodded, standing again at full height. He hadn't quite realized just how offensive he was being towards Xi.
"Er, no. I mean a literal weapon." Lex stated, scratching at a cheek with one ear. Gosh, this was difficult to explain. Just how much did he reveal to someone who wasn't supposed to be awake? And by bad guys I mean literally that. Things that are bad, want to end humanity and all that." He made a little jazz hands motion as if to try and be humorous, but was really just nervous. He'd goofed so many times now. "And er, no. Phones don't really work unless you're calling another Hunter..."

Leslie didn't thank him, leading them out of the gymnasium-- there were still too many god damned people here.
"No," he replied, flatly, almost remorseful. "You need to be on island a while before those cockholes let you leave, and you also only get to ******** off one or two weekends a month. Cigarettes, alcohol, decent food and coffee and s**t-- that is all high ******** priority in terms of trading."
Or so Thompson had told him, anyway.
It wasn't like him to be charitable, and he had no intention of being such, but there were some other suckers around that would probably spare a glass for a newbie, and that meant Leslie would be able to filch some, too.
"But I'll, uh, ask around and s**t. Anyway. Follow me."

"Sorry bud," he said. It was less of him being cheeky and snarky, and more of him just being a tad dumb and stuck in a habit. "Er, right, sorry."
He followed the scrawnier boy away from the rest of the group, listening and trying to follow along. Weapons? Dying? Great, its a good thing nothing serious or heavy was going down, for a moment he thought he'd need to be worried! Leslie didn't make much more effort to clarify, leaving Wyatt just as much in the dark.
He had a lot of questions, but only one of them seemed to take any level of priority at that time.
"Uh, so first thing, is there anywhere we can get a drink?" he asked hopefully.
"Cigarettes, alcohol, decent food and coffee and s**t-- that is all high ******** priority in terms of trading."
It was the most devastating story that Wyatt McCoy had ever heard.
In a tranced state of shock and grief, he followed the boy out of the gym.

Harland couldn't help but feel that Coyote was loving this. Harland also wasn't sure what to say. Was he, in this theoretical scenario, being flashed by a guy, or a chick? He suspected his tolerance threshold would be higher, depending on which-- not that he was about to say this aloud. "I didn't know ye'd have a problem with navals," he tried to defend himself, hands out, looking pathetic still.
"...A chailín, it's a naval piercing, so it's above my bellybutton, just like Dylon's after sayin'," Harland also tried to explain. He ran a hand through his hair, tousling it, and flipped his cowboy hat back on. That comforted him.
He looked at Dylon like he wanted to crawl into a hole and die, but didn't answer that last bit.
Even saying "damn" had been too much of a swear for their aunt, but she'd been wonderful and caring and they'd both managed to keep from adding to the swear jar most of the time (especially since the sad, disappointed look she'd always given them had been far worse than having to part with some of their allowance). Andy's eyes were bright and wet and a little red-rimmed, but he was smiling so much it hurt - his brother was here! Jordan was not only alive, but he was strong and fighting the shadows that had always tormented them...and there was a chance that they'd get to fight together - no matter how small that chance might have been.
Jordan hauled him down for a noogie and Andy took it with good nature, he might have been taller than his brother now but there was no doubt which was the stronger - did the bonding process Dr. H had mentioned have something to do with that? A good question to ask Jordan...but later, when they weren't in a big crush of people and had gotten past the whole "omfg you're alive!!" thing.
"I--" He cleared his throat again, looking at Shiloh and then back to Jordan once more, "I'm really glad this happened...even if I have to go back to being a pod-person - at least I know you're safe and here and some day..." That was as far as that thought went, 'cause there was that big scowly guy and another, less angry looking guy with him that Jordy clearly knew.
Actually, if Andy was reading that expression right...
Harrison was the one that didn't look like he wanted to rip Andy's head off, Rep was the one that wanted him dead. Clearly. Wait - fiances!? He'd been about to open his yap and say hi to the pair, but then Jordan said they were his fiances as though it were no big thing and Andy was struck dumb momentarily. "You--" "You're--"
Andy shut his mouth, closed his eyes a moment and took a steadying breath. When he opened his eyes, he looked each man over and then smiled. Broadly. "I guess this means I don't need to worry about you, huh?" The shaggy-haired youth shook his head a little - it was a big thing to learn that your older brother was engaged, but to two guys? And right after he'd emerged from a pod-thing early? But he was happy for Jordy, 'cause the way his brother looked at Rep and Harrison told him everything he needed to know: Jordan was happy. That was all that mattered, really.
Wyatt - whom Andy made a small mental note to talk to again sometime - hedged off to let him reunite with his family; Andy kind of nodded at him and gave a weak wave before returning to Rep, Harrison and Jordan. There was a lot going on and he was still a bit groggy and confused about things - but he'd catch up. Probably.
"Um, so...hi." The cold tone and glare Rep gave him was...disturbing. It also made his smile falter, 'cause he had zero ideas as to why this guy whom Jordan clearly loved was acting like that. "It's..." Andy really wanted to take a step backwards to put more space between himself and Rep, but he didn't. Instead he cleared his throat again and started over.
"It's nice to meet you both." Maybe Rep wasn't a morning person? Maybe he just naturally looked like he wanted to kill something? Or maybe he just didn't want to have to share Jordan's attention with another person? All that and more raced through Andy's brain as he tried not to fidget.

Melody slowly and uncertainly uncoiled herself and finally turned her head from Dylon to Harland. She actually looked now, still looking flustered as all hell. Dylon may have better informed her on the matter but that didn't change the fact there was still bling on this dudes belly and he gave no warning before taking it out. Reacting to that does not make her a baby.
"I hope once I bond my weapon doesn't try to get under my clothes like that." She looked back at Dylon crossly. That insinuation he made still grating on her, "and I've graduated high school thank you very much."

"Is what they're also supposed to do," Milo replied first to Noemi to clear the air for the other topic at hand. A tour of sorts and a nice way of getting to know another Hunter. This seemed exciting. Hopefully not Halloween party exciting with giant mutant looking bugs. Or, well.
"Totally wouldn't mind," The brunet nodded, in no way intending to back out. Besides, he'd have to go back eventually since he lived down there. Why no with company and a chance to go down further. "We can swap stories, it'll be fun." Hearing about those dolls would be one thing, and hearing about Hanna's previous island adventures would be another. Like how some of the vets were before and experiences. Yes ~
Milo was ready to grab Noemi by the arm again, "shall we?" But motioned with hands to the exit.

Dylon grinned despite the glares.
"Aw, c'mon guys! Smile!" He put his index fingers to the corners of his mouth to emphasize the smile. "All this worrying and frowning is going to stick like glue." He dropped his hands, letting them slip into his pockets.
"Anyway. Do you need a room to rest your head while you're out of the pods? I'm going to take a wild guess, and assume you don't want to sleep in a boy's room." He commented cheekily. "We could ask around and see if there are any ladies willing to let you bunk with them."
