Reid laughed and attempted to pout, "bad reasoning," he stated and flopped his chin onto Ike's chest, propping his head up with hands.
He sighed, attempting to be dramatic and meloncholy, "it's going to so much harder to use you as a bed or a perch now...."
"Huh... too much running?" he asked, arcing an eyebrow and poking Ike's leg with a finger.

For some reason, that statement made Ike's belly feel funny. He giggled and blew some hair from Reid's forehead.
"I'll just be a smaller bed is all," he propped himself up on his elbows and looked down at his legs, "I'm not used to have to run that fast." He re-bent his legs and dropped back, staring up at the sky.

Reid's antenae twitched at the warm breath and he shivered a bit.
"Mmmm..." he murmured, rolling onto his back and joining Ike in looking up at the sky. "We'll just have to play tag more then and get you used to it."

"Yeah," Ike agreed, pulling his arms behind his head, "Look." He nodded, then decided that that was insufficient and pointed over to the side.
"Lightning bugs?" It was more of a question than a statement. Aside from Reid, he'd never really seen a lightning bug before. He'd never been out late enough to go looking before.

Reid sat up a little, looking where Ike was pointing and smiled, "mhmmm." On a whim he reached out a hand and, after a minute, one of the tiny lights landed on his finger.
Carefully he manuvered his hand over so that Ike could get a better look at it and thought about what his mother had told him about lightning bugs. "Er... I'm pretty sure they're flashing to tell predators that they taste bad, because of the stuff that makes them glow, or they're trying to attract a mate..." he scratched his chin with a free hand.

Ike nodded, propping himself up slightly and peering at the flashing bug.
"My mum says they have the same stuff in 'em as glowsticks," he said, and then turned to Reid.
"Can you flash like that?"

"Hrm... that'd make sense..." Reid idly wondered why glowsticks could glow different colors.
He looked down at his already glowing stomach. "Er... I think I have before, but I dunno if I can just make it happen..." he shut his eyes and tried to concentrate on it.
His glow gave a small flicker, went out, then promptly came back on.
Reid blinked his eyes open, "that felt odd," he gently poked his stomach.

"Odd how?" Ike leaned over and bent down, peering at Reid's stomach. He then lifted his friend's shirt up and poked lightly at one of the glowy bits.

"Just... odd," Reid replied with a shrug. He yelped and wriggled when Ike poked his glowing stomach, "ah! Nails!"

"Sorry," Ike said and pulled his hand back, still staring intently.
Without tearing his eyes from Reid's glowing belly, he pulled what was in his pajama pants pocket out. He shoved the midnight snack candies back in and snapped the red glowstick between two fingers. He shook it and shoved it under his own shirt.
"I wish I could glow," he said, laughing and looking down at his stomach.

Reid tilted his head and giggled, poking Ike's now glowing belly.
"Really? Why?" he asked, looking up at Ike's face curiously. Glowing sporaticly didn't seem like something to be envied.

"B'cause it's cool," Ike said as he removed the glowstick from his shirts and ran it through the air, watching the light trail with fascination, "I can't do anything cool like that."

Reid laughed, "glowsticks are cool, just glowing isn't," he said, waving his hand and finally releasing the firefly into the air. He lay his head back down on Ike's stomach.
"Besides, can't you create lights?" he asked, poking Ike's palm after a few moments of watching the glow stick.

"Why not?" Ike asked, peering down again at Reid for a moment, "and light isn't a good thing for me. Since I'm...all-byne-oh my eyes are sensitive to bright lights."
He still hadn't the slightest idea what "albino" was, but he knew it complicated things immensely.

Reid shrugged, "it's just sort of embarassing sometimes. Plus you can't really use me to do anything cool, like you can with glowstick..." he looked up and frowned.
"Allbyneoh?" he asked, wondering if that was anothing word for 'white squirrel'. He tugged his shirt down a bit, lessening the already dull glow. "My glow doesn't hurt your eyes, right?" he asked, worrying his lower lip. He didn't often glow that brightly but what he considered 'not that bright' might be too much for his friend's apparently sensitive eyes, and he didn't want to be accidently hurting his best friend.
