Maybe he should stop trying to not hurt these pidgey... because they seemed intent on hurting him or Danae, maybe not maliciously maybe they were just trying to chase the people off but the result was the same.
He finally tried to swing a hand round at the pidgey to bat it off much harder than before and he ended up forcing it away.
3/5 pidgeys fought off.

He'd gotten much closer to the balloons now but yet another pidgey came at him and Danae, this time it aimed for the cyndaquil.

It attacked Danae very fast, she didn't have time to defend herself so Katori ran in, attempting to pull the flying type pokemon off of her.

Oki finally drove off his last opponent and turned to see how his trainer was doing. Seeing her plight, he dashed over to try and drive off this bird as well. But as he leaped up to strike at it, it proved to be too high and was easily able to dodge out of reach.

His first attempt to grab at it didn't work, Danae had scurried off a little before he managed to grab the pidgey off her, pulling it off and almost throwing it behind him, it seemed to decide that it was too much hassle to keep at and it flew off, leaving Danae alone.
4/5 pidgeys fought off.

The Pidgey hovered just out of reach, buffeting them with Gust and chirping something that sounded to Anise like taunts. Oki growled, but didn't dare leap at it again for fear of falling off the ship. Instead he gathered energy and fired it off in a Dark Pulse, but the turbulent footing of the ship threw his aim off and he missed. The Pidgey only seemed to taunt him more.

These dang pidgey! would they never STOP?! Katori ducked as another headed for Danae again, perhaps thinking she would be an easy target.

"get... OFF her!" he yelled at the pidgey, trying to grab at it, Danae was on her back now, defending herself from the flurry of beak and claws. His powerful hands repeated the action he used with the previous Pidgey, pulling it off her and out, back into the air and away. He grabbed his pokemon up in his arms and raced into the nearest Balloon, hoping that no more Pidgey would attack in the cramped space.
5/5 pidgeys fought off.

Okie tried another Dark Pulse, but the Pidgey dodged away again, making Oki growl in frustration. Maybe it would have been better to let Anise take Halcyon, the Flying-type might be more use here. On the other hand, the way things were already going, he was right to think that she needed protection on this trip.

Oki gathered energy, about to try another attack. But before he could release it, another Pidgey zipped over and rammed into him, distracting him very effectively while the first kept buffeting Anise.

Apparently the Pidgeys decided to gang up on Oki because the first one darted up to assist its fellow. The pair zipped around Oki, taking turns pecking and buffeting him while he aimed for the other.

Oki swiped at the birds, but the shaky footing and their distracting tactics were making it difficult to hit them. Finally Oki had had enough, He didn't have time for these things, he had to protect his trainer! So he went with a tactic he'd used before to ward groups away, especially when his trainer was treating a pokemon that could not be moved: he took a deep breath and Roared at the top of his lungs. The two bird practically fell over themselves in their effort to get away, chirping their alarm.
Oki huffed his annoyance at them and turned to check on Anise. As soon as she was free to do so, she'd clambered to her feet. "Thanks Oki," she said. "Come on, we still have a ways to go, it seems."

Sienna had stuffed her face once they reached the dining hall, and was just lounging about in the main area when she noticed a pidgey out the window. Pidgey! That was interesting...Wow there were a bunch of pidgey! Then an alarming amount of them. Sienna frowned and stared out the window, Skylar quietly peeping on her head. "They don't seem happy..." The bird keeper trailed off, her swablu agreeing with her.
Then the Captain sounded the alarm, "hot-air balloons NOW!" Sienna lept up from her seat in the front of the ship and headed for the back docking area, where the balloons were supposedly located. Skylar gripped tightly onto his trainer's head, to the discomfort of Sienna, but he didn't want to fall off in all of the chaos and running. No time to find that other girl, Valarie, now. Hopefully she wouldn't be far behind and they could resume chatting in the hot air balloon.
The pair quickly reached the balloons, one boot on the outside deck meant Sienna and Skylar were suddenly bombarded with attacks from the pidgey. Ouch! They were really mad! "Skylar! Sing them to sleep, please!" Sienna yelled over the cacophony of noise from both the wild birds and the trainers fighting them. Skylar knew he had to protect his trainer, so he sang as loudly as he could, hoping he wouldn't put anyone but the pidgey to sleep.
