Never Again...Herald's smile was replaced by a look of slight confusion. "If you say so," he replied, looking down at her. He took a deep breath and leaned back in the tub, taking in the warm air and Emma's presence. He focused on memorizing everything about this moment. When things got hard or when the battle seemed to be overwhelming, he would close his eyes and remember this moment and others like it. Whenever he forgot why he bothered....he opened his eyes slightly and looked down at Emma where she lay on his chest. This is what he would remember. Will I be bound in chains

Eventually she looked up and just smiled and him for no particular reason. ☾

Never Again...Herald looked down at Emma when she smiled and kissed her on the lips. "How did this happen?" He asked quietly as he put his hand on the back of her head and pressed her gently down against his chest. Will I be bound in chains

Never Again..."How did I end up with someone like you? After all the things I've done, you think karma would catch up to me. That I would be punished or something. But instead...." He cut himself off as he looked down at her. He slid down slightly in the tub and they were both up to their shoulders in the water. "I keep waiting for the bad part to come, but it hasn't."Will I be bound in chains

I wasn't expecting this sort of thing either too you know?" she said "I was expecting to be killed not long after escaping the place I did... I thought maybe that was my fate since I killed a lot of people and did a lot of bad things... Maybe that whole thing was our punishment though I guess." she said as she seemed to be thinking about it as well. "All the bad things happen first then the good things..." she trailed off as she continued thinking it over. ☾

Never Again...Herald nodded slowly. "For you it was surely punishment. And for me it was at first too. But after a while I began to like it. I still do. Have I received my punishment or that? Or is it coming?" He sighed before he shook his head again. "Either way, there's no use worrying about it. For now you're safe and although Eric figured out that I have my own realm, almost no one still knows it exists and no one has found a way to reach it. This is still our secret." Herald frowned in annoyance that Eric had read into his statements so easily. Still, he had to admit that was the one thing he would miss about sharing a body with Eric; he always knew how to figure things out and get them done. That didn't change the fact that he didn't want anyone to know of this place's existence. In a previous time he would have hunted down and tried to kill Eric for knowing it. Will I be bound in chains

Never Again...Herald continued Emma's kiss as they lay together, letting it linger for a while before he pulled back he moved his hands down her back to her waist and around the parts of her body that were underwater. "We just need to be careful not to reveal it to anyone. Leaving to this realm right in front of Divine and his minions wasn't preferable but we were out of options. It was better that we didn't go to the refugee camp and we couldn't stay there." He looked down at her with a smile as he continued. Will I be bound in chains

Never Again...Herald gave Emma a nod and a smile. "I wouldn't expect you to," he told her as he looked down at her. After a moment he put his arms around her and turned her over so that he was on top and she was below him, making sure to keep her head above water. "Our home?" he told her as he pulled her close. Never Again...[[About an hour later]] Herald lay with Emma in the tub, their positions once again reversed with her laying on his chest. He still had his arms around her as the steam from the water rose around them. He had closed his eyes and was resting his head against the back of the tub. The combination of the hot water and Emma had finally soothed his anger and stress over the day's events. Outside the sky had faded to night. The star-studded sky was shining brightly and the realm even had a full moon that looked down on the fortress and the field. Will I be bound in chains
