With all five fragments, Hurt was happily about to go on her merry way when she saw the Goddess. She was not in any way prepared for what happened next. Hurt hears her own voice screaming. And the sound terrifies her. She brings her hands to her ears, tries to block out the sound and when that fails, she attempts to claw at her ears.

But the Goddess is there, wings encircling her and Hurt begins to calm. And when the Goddess leaves, Ruth finds herself with

Moving along the subway his search seemed to be in vain, while no fragments were found he did pass other figures. For a time he watched them move around him before starting back on his hunt.

He left one source of agitation only to stumble into another, his core pulsing nervously as he found himself in a sea of blinking lights, of hard metal and unyielding cement. It felt foreign, unfamiliar, and unlike the cold of the Goddess, it offered no reprieve for his soul.

Panicked, Loffie scrambled through the station, clattering into rusted junk at every turn. It was only when the shadows began to creep in, to blot out the light, and the acrid smell of rain and mildew. The shadows darkened until they enveloped him completely, wrapping around him in their swirling embrace. Then it was an embrace, the touch feather light on his pale, indistinguishable skin. The Goddess stood before him, her wings grazing over his form in a way that soothed his discontent, and that quieted the nervous pacing of his heart.

But it was only temporary comfort, as she moves, her coolness ebbing away with the shadows. He longs to hold onto that coolness, to clutch it to himself forever and drive away the warmth and feeling that ate at the fuzzy edges of his image. But there is no holding onto a Goddess, and she was gone from him before he could even reach for her, moved onto the next searching core.

All he was left with were those awful feelings, his feet restless again and his core blinking faster than before. His mind was filled nothing but unanswered questions, but warily he doesn’t know if wants any answers. As he made his way to the edge of the station, Loffie peered out into the rainy darkness, glaring at obnoxious neon light.
