She thought for a minute. "... Umm I don't know, exactly." She continued to stare at the ground. "I just... I guess that it's so easy to over look all those mean comments because I just don't pay attention. It's what inside that counts..."
Now Ronan was just confused again. "So.. what now?"
She looked up at him, in the eyes, and shrugged again. "It's your call, not mine."

"Well.. "
He thought it through; he didn't really have anything to lose here did he? Ok so she annoyed the heck out of him on a regular basis, but he had to admit, during their time in the circus; when he wasn't seriously considering shoving her off the diving platform; he'd enjoyed spending at least some of the time with her. It was nice to have someone to talk to who had a similar cultural background.
By all reasoning, this made sense. They were both Selkies, she wasn’t unattractive and she liked him... somehow.
Besides, they both needed a date to tombcoming. He extended a hand.
"Though I warn you, I cannot dance."

Doriana stared at his hand for a minute. Was he asking for them to hold hands? To offer a handshake? She simply shook his hand.
"I can, but not very well. Oh well, we'll look dumb together!"

"Perhaps people won't notice."
He forced a smile and let his hand drop to his side.
"So uh.. I have homework I have to do. "

"As do I."
She felt less worried about Tombcoming now and was actually looking forward to the night with Ronan.

"Goodbye." He turned to leave.
While he was thankful he'd managed to sort that confusion out, he still felt a little unsure about the whole thing. Uneasy even, but he couldn't say why.
Perhaps Dashner would have some more words of advice for him. He made a note to mention it later.

Marceline cringed at the volume of Rory's voice, but laughed it off. She cautiously extended her arm to gently ruffle his hair, kicking up a dark cloud of black soot; she coughed, surprised at the amount of soot that had clung to his hair. "Well," She wafted the dust away from her face. "Doesn't look like you're on fire *cough*! Not anymore, *cough cough* at least!"

Caverns above, that was quite the explosion. Jewels watched the smoke slowly clear, this happened altogether too often but it always made for a bit of excitement to punctuate the dreary school day.
She looked around at her fellow classmates, searching for familiar faces. She spotted Glen waving his arms about and squeaking, and beside him... she squinted, was that Rory? Oh dear, she hardly recognised him so covered in soot. Poor boo was having quite the eventful first day. But his ghoulfriend seemed to be taking care of matters, so she left them to it.

She smiled at his energy and managed to keep the smile throughout her day, especially during the horrid biteology pop quiz Mr. Hack had given.
Well, until Glen and Rorrim decided to mix un-named chemicals, forcing the school to evacuate.
As the teachers guided the students out of the school, the students flooded out, going back to their doomitories.
Roswell offered to walk Melody back to her room, and she happily accepted. As they neared her room, she had to ask the question what had swam through her mind all day.
"So, the tombcoming dance..." she started.
What a terrible introduction..she thought to herself. Why couldn't I have started it off simpler with a good, "Who are you going with?" Or, "What are your plans for the upcoming weekend?"
"are you planning to attend?"

Ronan picked his way through the crowd of slowly dispersing students, many of whom seemed to be heading toward the die-ner or the maul to fang out.
He was eager to get back to his dorm and finish up the last of his catchup work, that was, until he spotted a vividly coloured clown ghoul.
"Meme!" He waved as he approached, he hadn't spoken to her since the shoe throwing incident. "Are you looking for Ascreama?"

Meme smiled broadly, "Hey bluddie! How creepy cool is that; days off school! I wonder who to thank?" She laughed. "Yeah, I don't know where she is, though I can guess what she'll be doing.."
Meme rolled her eyes. "So, what're your plans now?"

"Glen Da West I believe is who you can thank." He rolled his eyes. "At least I wasn't in the line of fire this time." He sighed, thankful that this week's explosion wasn't being blamed on him.
He shrugged at her question. "I hoped to catch up with the work I missed while we were all..." He hesitated. "Working for the circus."
A deep frown crossed his face, he still hadn't quite managed to push aside that awful feeling of being controlled. He shook his head, he didn't want to think about it any longer.
"You?"

"Tell me about it," She frowned at the thought. Despite Bloodgood stating homework during that time was not expected to be handed in, Meme thought it best to complete the essays anyway. "I'm still recovering from all these paper cuts, stupid tickets.." She laughed pensively.
Only a few students remained in front of the school now, mostly loitering to see if any more explosions or black clouds would tear through the corridors.
"Want to swap notes for classes we share? We'll do better if we pool our research!"

He brightened a little at the thought of company while he trawled through tedious notes and text books.
"That sounds like a great idea. My Grandmother liked to say two heads were better than one." He smiled awkwardly.

JD Leeds "Woah!" JD yelped as he was knocked off his hooves by Vanissha. Quickly adjusting his shades, he stood up and offered his hand to the lovely ghoul he'd run into. "We need to stop running into each other like this!" He flashed his perfect smile at her as she rose to her feet, and gently grasped her hand in his. "Uh, what I mean is... not so violently, y'know...?" "Heh yeah." Vanissha laughed. He was so funny! And so cute too! "Teehee, unless we are running to the same place? Like the grymm?" She looked at the clock, it was almost time for practice to start. School shut down or not Cleo got what she wanted. "What I mean is you look like a boo who works out a lot. So why don't you walk me to Fearleading practice, before Cleo yells my head off?" She hooked her arm into his, also handing him her grymm bag. He looked like he'd have no trouble carrying both if he needed it. "So Tombcomming dance is next weekend... " Maybe she should be so blunt about it. It would make her seem desperate, not what she wanted. "You're going right? I've had a few boos ask me... but I'm not sure...." She lied hoping to bait him as she waited outside the grymm room.
