Tony turned a warm smile on Loki when he spoke about being involved in his life. “Thank you Lo.” He said, pecking his lips before he turned from him to pick up a relatively large book near them. “What language is this?” he asked, squinting as the runes slowly began to make sense to him, the magic still trying to work with his existing knowledge. “And if you’re going to start doing more magic, am I going to need to buy you stuff for potions or rituals or something?” he added, glancing over to Loki.

Loki smiled back at Tony just as warmly before the other thanked him. Using his magic to shift some of the books back to place a couch like thing behind them he looked to Tony as the man asked what language the book he was holding was in. "Ancient elven. The runes may take a few minutes to translate as you mind adjusts to it." Loki smiled pleased. "Potions and rituals are more a shamans thing of which I am not. Though Midgard was fond of such things when I was last here. I may only need herbs every once in a while and that it merely to clear the room of whatever I have done by burning them." Loki shook his head.

Tony nodded his understanding as he flipped through a few pages, scanning over a lot of stuff that he could read, but really didn’t understand. “So is the shaman thing real magic and you just aren’t into it, or is it just made up and pointless?” he asked, closing the book and setting it back down as he turned to eye the new addition to the room. He knew such questions might be stupid, but for a man of science, he was congratulating himself for taking all this magic stuff in stride relatively well. Sure, he had a million questions every time Loki did something, and he had the overwhelming urge to test it all in every possible way, but he restrained himself.

"It is a false magic. There is no magic behind it. Shaman's make people believe things using herbs that are already known to help. They mix those herbs with other things and call it a potion to sell it." Loki explained with a bit of a scoff. He held no respect for those that called themselves Shaman. Picking up a pile of books he stepped towards a bookshelf carefully putting them away.

Listening, Tony chuckled at his tone. “Glad to know the distinction.” He said lightly. He thought of helping him, but he didn’t know if there were certain books Loki wanted in certain places, so he decided against it. “Is there other types of magic beyond what you do?” he asked, trying to think of how to put it. “I believe Thor called you a sorcerer, is that the term for all magic users, or a particular brand?” If Loki was going to answer his questions, and they were already on the subject, he was going to get as many out as he could.

Loki smiled when the man said that he was glad to know the distinction. "There are many types of magic. Mine is more commonly referred to as Seidr, that is Asgard's magic. However almost all races have their own forms of magic. Asgard refers to male magic users as sorcerers because they do not like male magic users and it is a derogatory term." Loki explained. Each race had their own brand of magic and each had their strength. "The dwarves are responsible for Mjolnir." Loki smirked.

Tony listened to that and snorted. “Don’t let that whole male versus female thing get out when you go public. People will eat Thor alive for being a part of a sexist system. The poor guy doesn’t deserve that.” He said lightly. Seeing the smirk, he arched a brow. “You seem awfully pleased with that.” He said slowly. “Is it because the weapon smiths on Asgards are that horrible?”

LOki looked to Tony a bit surprised when the man asked him not to tell the public about how Asgard viewed males and magic. He had had no intentions of really telling anyone but Tony but hearing the man say that people would eat Thor alive Loki couldn't help but burst into laughter. "I doubt that he could not smooth it over in a quickness but the prospect of watching him eaten alive is interesting. However I have no current intentions of feeding Thor to the wolves." Loki chuckled. "As for Mjolnir, I find it quite funny that Thor wields something which in itself is magic in every way yet he despises such things except when he has a use for them." Loki continued.

Tony smiled at Loki’s laughter, appreciating the fact that he’d made him happy, and he was thankful that Loki wouldn’t make life hard for him in such a way. Hearing his other words had the humor fading from Tony’s eyes. Moving to lean against the side of the bookshelf so he could see Loki’s face better, he crossed his arms. “I wasn’t there to know for sure, but have you ever thought that his attitude towards magic isn’t really his fault. It’s a combination of customs and Odin and the fact that, as much as I like Thor, he isn’t all that bright and just doesn’t understand magic. I mean as smart as I am, even I have difficulty wrapping my head around it…..and if it wasn’t for the fact that it was you doing it, I might have similar opinions because I can’t grasp it.”

Loki looked to Tony still smiling for a moment when the man leaned against the bookshelf. He wasn't angry with Thor's views, long ago having given up that fight. The only time it pained him now was when it was directly thrust into his face by Thor himself. However seeing the serious look on Tony's face caused his own smile to falter. "Thor views magic the way he does is because all the fighting instructors think it is a cowards way out of things. His friends only help to grow that sudden turn to dislike into hate for it and then my own fault for grow angry with him enough to give justification." Loki grumbled. "You at least give it the chance even if you don't understand it. Thor used to do the same because it was me doing it." he continued.

Tony reached out with one hand, running it down Loki’s arm. “I don’t want you upset Lo……I was just talking.” He said softly. Shaking his head, he looked toward the window with a small shrug. “That just shows how stupid those instructors were though. It’s much braver to go out relying on only your wits and knowledge than on weapons. You can still swing a sword or shoot under pressure, making yourself think is another thing altogether.”

"I know." Loki sighed running a hand through his hair as Tony ran a hand down his other arm. He kept trying to pretend it didn't upset him, that he didn't need Thor's approval for his magic. He knew however that he did want it. "Its like you read my mind sometimes do you know that." Loki smiled at Tony's words. "I know how to do all of what Thor does, I don't have the brute strength but I can get myself out of almost any situation when he cannot." Loki continued.

Tony smiled at Loki's words, looking back to him. "We're just too much alike." He replied. Listening to him, he nodded. "You know...I honestly think you and Thor will be able to fix things. Sure, you'll need a mediator for a while, but there is a desire to connect from both of you, and the two of you are kind of stuck running into each other for.....well forever I suppose." He said gently. "And you deserve someone you can stomach at least to have to spend all that time with."

Loki smiled once more when Tony said that they were too much alike. He believed the genius when he said that he thought he and Thor would fix things even with having a mediator for awhile. "It seems like no matter where I go he finds me quickly." Loki laughed. Of course that wasn't quite true, Thor had not found him in the one place he had wished to be found, needed to be found; the void. "Is that not why I have you? I find I stomach you quite well." Loki grinned.

Tony chuckled at Loki’s words. However he had to shake his head at Loki’s question. “Different life expectancies Lo. I’ve only got another 40 to 50 years tops, and that’s if everything goes well. And I don’t expect you to stick around all that time. You shouldn’t be stuck with some grey-haired old man in a wheelchair.” He smirked slightly. Of course he’d only end up like that if everything went perfectly, with all of his bad habits through the years, he didn’t think he’d live that long, even if he allowed loki to remove the shrapnel.
