There was one thing that was a damn fact.

G was a walking, talking pillow. It should have been a crime to get that comfortable. "Are you made out of down feathers by any chance, G?" he just had to ask, and settled back into place. "But yes, that place was in shambles." he continued, nodding at the other guest beside. "The problem i had was it was so abrupt, and massive. what the hell could have caused it to happen?" these were the questions that didn't seem to have been answered.

"was it structural, or something that was triggered and could be in every kingdom?" he fretted over, looking around at the surrounding in case there was something jutting out at an odd angle that was begging to be inspected.

and in came nuk. "Well, look what the mangy cat dragged in."

Rep sighed and set his hands on his hips, looking exhausted.

"Maybe if we are quick I could take you upstairs." he sighed.

Nuk came back intact and he was, frankly slightly glad. It would have been terrible if he went out and got killed.

When Nuk came to elbow him, Melvin just rubbed where he jabbed him and held up his hoodie for the man to see. "I feel down through some stairs...and my hoodie is dirty...and I'm dirty....and I can't go to my lab.." He explained, listing off all the reasons why life was miserable and how the world was conspiring against him.

Then Rep spoke up, and Melvin looked up with wide, blue eyes over his dirty, large glasses. "Really?"

The comment was undoubtedly supposed to be a compliment, but Gargantuan looked stricken for a moment. It took all his willpower not to put an uncertain hand over his stomach, as though thinking his weight was entirely responsible for this unfortunate circumstance. "I hope not. Haven't eaten any geese lately." He sounded entirely serious.

Taima was murmuring something about deer and headlights, and G would give her a little glance. "Not gonna let that happen to the family." He finally said, spreading his hands a little as though stating the simplest of facts. "None of us are. We can't."

Jing brought up an uncomfortable possibility. "Wha... You think it's like a bomb or somethin'?"

"Do you really want to find out?" Taima asked, exasperated at the smaller man's line of thinking. "Did you see any survivors from the Silver kingdom, other than the ones that came to us? No? How about the way the tower was literally falling down around our ears?" She shook her head. "You heard the Voice--we all heard the voice. The weakest kingdom will fall. What happened to the Silver kingdom, those are the consequences." She huffed a sigh, trying not to walk too far down the path of pragmatism. "Things will happen whether we want them to or not."

Jing's comment earned him a one-finger wave and a sneer, all for him.

"Bite me, fox-boy."

Glancing in Rep's direction, he met the redhead's eyes for a second before he inclined his head in greeting, looking a little like he was sporting some sort of schoolgirl crush as he pointedly looked away, refocusing on Melvin.

Patting the boy on the shoulder, he gave him his best sympathetic look... which seemed kind of like a grimace, and didn't portray his sympathy well at all. "Pop a Blue, you'll feel better."

Jing knew he should have expected the guy who was essentially a bodyguard to be dense as a doorknob, but lo and behold it still caught him off guard. making him tense up at the strange comment before settling down again. "It- Its a joke, dude, you know. wit." he explained further, patting the guy on his shoulder to let him know it was alright.

"But if you see a goose, just don't eat it without feathering it, and of course cooking it.' he continued, just in case he needed the play by play.

It was indeed a messy thing to think about, fowl play on the silver kingdom, but he was also thinking of doing something similar here. Whatever was used, he was going to have to figure it out first. "who knows, i dont remember seeing any bomb shrapnel after combing around. Its possible I guess." he figured after a moment of thought.

All it took was something nestled in the structural weakpoint to bring that tower to its foundation. It seemed to have struck a nerve with the other person as he raised his arms in defense. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to be rude, I just wanted to try and limit the amount of casualties in case the worse case scenario happens, please understand, it will happen but it does not mean we cant be prepared for it."

Of course Nuk had a zinger ready for him. "I've already licked you, sorry but you're not ready for a hickey."

There was a long sigh at Taima's words, accepting if not a bit down about the whole thing. She was right, though. The Silver Kingdom had to have been the weakness. That was the only thing that make sense. Seeing the damage though--well, let's just say it provided plenty of inspiration to gather as much Miasma was possible. "We just gotta get more and more Miasma. Our Boss needs to be the last guy left standin'."

Jing's words made him start again, and he rubbed at the back of his neck with embarrassment, his ears already burning. "Y-Yeah. Course."

Not that anyone really needed to know that if he really wanted to, he probably could eat an entire goose, feathers, bones, and all.

Rep smirked at Nuk and the look lingered long after he averted his own gaze. It took a minute for Rep to actually jar his brain back into gear and haul his attention back to Melvin. "Aye. Really."

He fished out his keys and eyed the one trimmed with a blue eye the ring went through the hole on. It was deciding if he should go with Melvin that was the stickler. Part of him wanted to stay here and fish for...well, certain things, part of him wanted to make sure no harm came to their things. Respect for Harrison and his own hide won out.

Still, there was a certain how about both attitude lingering there.

"C'mon Melvin." he intentionally, blatantly strolled past Nuk. "Buzz the penthouse in a bit - if you aren't worn out by a little bit of work."

He checked to make sure Melvin was in tow before leading the way to the penthouse elevator.

Standing up, Melvin held his hoodie and followed Rep, stopping only once to look at Saliva.

"Go. Go. I'll be here. It's safe up there." She hoped. It at least looked as if Rep's attention was elsewhere.

With that assurance, Melvin followed.

Rep has gained 1 dirty chemist.

G's naivete was adorable, if ill-timed. They had all been reaping some pretty hefty benefits from the kingdom not, as it turned out, due to the beneficence of their King, but at the whim of the unseen Voice. "Yes, you're right in that," Taima said to G, almost consolingly in response to his despondence. "It is time for us to start...giving back, as it were. And no one is going to be plucking, cooking, or eating any bird today." She kind of wanted to reach out to him as he had done to her, just for comfort, but that would require moving, and her body said nope nope nope to that.

"There's nothing wrong with being prepared," she conceded to the other man. "We should...ask the Silvers when they return what happened to their kingdom, so we can minimize the damage if it happens to us."

He could feel Rep's eyes on him, lingering with that same familiar building heat from before, but Nuk didn't look up again. Because if he looked up now, he was genuinely concerned he wouldn't be able to look away again. With the threat of immanent death confirmed, there really wasn't any motivation for him not to. The only thing holding him back now was that denial, still lingering, futility trying to win out and 'save the day.' But it, too, was realizing it's demise, and the fight was growing weaker and weaker. Surprisingly, even more so, now that he knew he was going to die.

He didn't see it the moment it happened, but the redhead seemed to have decided something, which had stirred him to action. At first, as Rep seemed to ignore him, the conclusion he drew was that the danger had passed for now, the shape-shifter relaxing marginally... perhaps mildly disappointed too. But just as he passed, Nuk caught the tail-end of his comment, a strange mixture of an invitation and a command that left his skin prickling, hyper aware of just how close... or far away, depending on your perspective... Rep was. This time, as the redhead passed, Nuk didn't look away, watching his retreating form for as long as he was visible, Melvin trailing not far behind.

Once again, they both knew he would.

It was the first logical thing said all night. "you know what, that sounds like a great idea, the sooner we know that, the better chance we have at getting ready." he offered, conceding to the logic of the young lady nearby. "Its nice to see there's someone else on the ball about this, Jing." he replied back, extending his hand out in greeting to the lass.

G just got a friendly pat on the stomach.

He was beginning to feel more and more awkward by the second. This wasn't how this situation was supposed to go down at all. He'd come over here to comfort the girl, not the other way around! Still, he'd be lying if he said he wasn't flattered at the prospect--he always was when someone took his feelings into consideration. It was a courtesy he just wasn't used to. "Would much rather have a steak right now, if we're bein' honest." G muttered to himself, flattening his hat a bit more firmly down on his head.

"If they're willing to talk." He agreed with that. "Seems like it was pretty traumatic, one way or another."

He couldn't even imagine how he'd feel if that had been his home. The pat earned another blink, and he wasn't sure if he was disgruntled or... oddly pleased by the gesture. Good way to pick up names, anyway. "Gargantuan. Everyone just calls me G." The big man added.

The sting of failure all but faded with the prospect of new plans ahead and, though she worked solo by trade, new allies to enact them with. She offered Jing a small smile at his introduction, reaching out with her uninjured hand to gingerly shake his. "Charmed," she replied, her eyes flicking from one man to the other to encompass them both in the nicety. "You may call me Taima."

Her smile turned sharper at G's naive idea that the Silvers would have to be willing in order to talk with them. "G, honey, they will talk," she all but cooed. "One way or another, I'm sure."
