Caesar-The Devourer of Hearts Shadow demon"I am going to eat your heart now..." "...I am not kidding..." Caesar stands before walking over to the couch and laying down, his eyes closing shortly after.
In his dream, Caesar was back in the room filled with light, his arms and legs were bound and he was breathing heavily. He had a long rod sticking from his shoulder, pinning him to the wall. Caesar cries out as another spear was drove through his stomach, tears falling from his eyes. One by one, spears would pin him to the wall, his blood staining his bare skin and the floor below him. Every time he cried out in pain in the dream, he would cry out in his sleep.
Each one seemed to come out of no where until finally someone approached. He expected to see the face he was forced to look at for five years only to find someone else standing before him with a spear in hand. His eyes women when he recognized the face. "You...!" The man raises the spear before shoving it through Caesar's heart.
When Caesar woke up, he was sweating and panting, tears in his eyes. He put his head in his hands his body shaking violently. The man in his dream...it was Fields. "...I really am going to eat it..."

By the time Caesar screamed for the third time, Fields was shaken out of his sleep. His eyes flew open and he stared at the ceiling, quickly greeted by the darkness of night and the faint light of nearby buildings. Closing his mouth, Fields looked around groggily. He was in his bed, and still dressed in his work clothes, even his shoes were still on. Looking back at the ceiling, the doctor winced at the headache already coming with his hangover, and as he dealt with the pain he tried to depict what woke him up. He was answered by another of Caesar's screams. "Caesar." Fields breathed then quickly got to his feet, fighting back the pain and protests of his body. Wincing lightly, he turned to where Caesar's room was and practically ran into it, searching frantically for the boy. "Caesar!" he called out and looked around to see no one in the room. Growing more worried and fretful by the second, the doctor nearly tripped over himself as he dashed down the hallways, swallowing back fear when another scream echoed through the apartment. Finally exploding into the living space, Fields looked around, sure that he had heard the scream in this general area. It wasn't until he heard another scream that he finally caught sight of Caesar. The demon was on the couch... asleep. Dr. Fields stood there, watching the boy as his panting diminished to level-headed breathing. It was just a nightmare. Walking towards the sleeping man's body, Fields slid his arms beneath him and picked him up firefighter-style. After adjusting to the boy's weight and his strengthening headache, he turned and carried Caesar all the way to his room. As he walked on, Fields looked down at the boy's face, curious as to what he could be dreaming that could bring about such frightening screams.

Fields tensed up when he saw Caesar slowly open his eyes, he wasn't ready to deal with the tension just yet. He slowly opened his mouth to utter whatever would come out of his mouth when the demon jumped off and scooted towards the wall. He stared at the boy in shock, unable to understand what could have rattled the boy so hard. Was their tension or was it the nightmare? Was it both? It hurts...? Caesar must still be stuck in his nightmare. Closing his mouth, Dr. Fields crouched down and held a hand out towards the demon. "It's all right." he said as softly as he could muster. "Ein von't hurt you." He felt strange. Being in this stance, talking like this, the way Caesar looked at him... It almost reminded him of someone trying to calm a frightened pooch.

The doctor felt a shiver run down his spine when Caesar said his real name, and with such confusion and maybe even fear himself. Shaking it away, Fields moved towards him until he was sitting right besides him against the wall. "The hallvay of mein apartment." he explained softly with a sigh. "You vere having un nightmare." He turned his head to look at the demon, his eyes veiled with concern. "Are you alvright?"

Dr. Fields was taken aback by the question, though he figured it shouldn't have come as much of a surprise. The way he treated the boy, especially earlier, it was no wonder Caesar though he hated him. His expression softened considerably. "Of course ein don't hate you." he replied somberly. "In fact, ein...... Ein feel far from hate for you, Caesar, und ein suppose that's vhy I've been acting this vay." he said with a small smile. He guessed if this was the time to confess anything, it'd be when they were both dazed.

Again, Fields paused to give it some thought. "...Nein, ein don't think so." he mused. "Ve couldn't forget it even if ve tried, anyvay. Ein think.... Ein think ve just need time to figure this out."
