Caitlin nodded back to Rick as he walked in. Then Jacob come through the door. "Hi Jacob! My summer went well, I expect yours did the same?"She questioned, but realized she hadn't asked how Rick was."Excuse me..."Cait walked toward Rick and sat in the seat next to his,"So, you ready to perform?"

"The violin plays a soft melody, as my mind starts to feel ease. Let the music wash over my soul, make my mind pure and whole. Let me be renewed."
Victor felt a pang of guilt, he had started to visit the music club last year, but then quit showing up. Of course he was also injured but...he promised to himself that he wouldn't skimp the club again.
Holding the case of his violin he silently walked into the room, though the nostalgic feel of it made him smile. It was music after all~ Victor couldn't deny himself that. "Ah~ Feels so good to be back~"
I feelnervousyou know? My inner thoughts are,"This guilt..." I'm in the house ofHufflepuff. I am a proudsecondyear My puppeteer says"..."Out of character.
Ariana looked at the new student who walked in, and she was about to answer his question when Caitlin did so instead. The redhead nodded in agreement. "Anyone can join the Music Club," she stated with a smile. Her eyes glided onto every face that showed. The prefect greeted every single one of them with a "hello.""Oh, you guys! I wrote a new song over the summer!" she called out to everyone in the room. Quickly, the redhead jumped onto the stage and sang her new song Piano. It sort of just came to her when she was trying, and failing miserably, to write a sad song. Although this one did mention how love was a losing battle, at least it seemed to be for the seventh year, the song was upbeat and cheerful, and so were most of the lyrics.

Newlyn walked in just as Ariana began playing the piano, and practically tiptoed silently to a chair in the back, so as not to disturb the older girl's performance. She liked the song the girl had written. It was happy and playful, but she could still relate to the lyrics. She felt like the song she wanted to sing was going to be a downer though, as it was sort of sad and bittersweet. Still, if she was going to sing anything, that was what she wanted to sing. When the redheaded Hufflepuff had finished, Newlyn clapped from her seat, not sure if she wanted to go next or not.
The more SYMPATHY you GIVE, the LESS you NEED
Until the DAY that I see YOU on the other side COME and take me HOME I'm not giving IN, I WANT you back Holding together the SHARDS of our PAST
Stole my HEART away, I can't LET you go Break these CHAINS, and let me FLY to you High ABOVE the world BELOW OVER and over in my MIND
Upon hearing the upbeat melody of a song he'd never heard before, the boy stepped quietly through the door into the room. He'd followed Rick after noticing the guitar case that the quidditch vice captain had been carrying. Alex loved music so much, and it had been far to long since he'd been a part of it. Following Rick was due to hope that maybe there was somewhere in the castle that catered to musicians. It became apparent as he entered that there certainly was. Alexander's eyes were immediately drawn to the piano, and he longed to go over and play it. Some of his works in progress had been stuck in his head for ages, and he needed to finish them. His fingers needed to dance across the ivories. It was the language he knew best.
Taking a seat next to the ravenclaw keeper, Alex smiled as the girl who'd been singing finished her song. He applauded politely, having certainly enjoyed her song, but still wanted more than anything to play that dang piano. Leaning over to Rick, he whispered to the boy, "Is this some kind of talent show or something? Can anybody participate?" His eyes scanned the room, and he noticed students from all different houses, mostly older students and a few first year students like him. He hoped this wasn't just for select or elite students. If there was a sanctuary for music, Alex wanted to be part of it. Also, it couldn't hurt to be as involved as possible. In school, it had always been the ones involved in the most extracurriculars that did well, both socially and academically. Though the first year was more interested in academics, he'd kind of been swept into a social life since being here. He guessed it was due to being with his own kind of people. Hopefully he'd fit in here, too.
jeѕѕ stopped her brother from entering the Music Room, having heard that someone was performing as they came up to it. So the twins waited patiently outside, not wanting to walk in and distract anyone from the beautiful music. When the music stopped, they both walked in, Jess taking the lead as usual, her short brown ponytail bouncing energetically. "Hi guys. We're new. I'm Jess and this is my brother Toby. It's alright if we go next, right?" she blurted out all in one sentence. She smiled at Ariana. "That song was really cool. I mean, you wrote that yourself? That's amazing."
тoвy was carrying a rather old looking guitar, but he knew it worked perfectly fine. it was his da's old one, and he'd begun showing his son how to play it. Toby's fingers tripped over themselves on the strings a lot, but he was catching on fast. He grinned at the few people there. "We've been practicing this for a while. Right, Jess?"
She nodded confidently, eyes sparkling.
He exhaled. "Okay." The Gryffindor boy looked to his sister, who smiled and took a deep breath in preparation to sing.
"One, two, three, go!"
"Hugs, gimme hugs, gimme hugs I don't need it, but I'll sell what you got Take the cash and I'll keep it Eight legs to the wall Hit the gas, kill them all And we crawl, and we crawl, and we crawl You be my detonator
Love, gimme love, gimme love I don't need it, but I'll take what I want from your heart And I'll keep it in a bag, in a box Put an X on the floor Gimme more, gimme more, gimme more Shut up and sing it with me
Na Na Na...
From mall security To every enemy We're on your property Standing in V formation
Na Na Na...
Let's blow an artery Get plastic surgery Keep your apology Give us more detonation
More! Gimme more! Gimme more!
Oh, let me tell you 'bout the sad man Shut up and let me see your jazz hands Remember when you were a madman Thought you was Batman And hit the party with a gas can Kiss me you animal
Na Na Na...
You run the company Hug like a Kennedy I think we'd rather be Burning your information
Na Na Na...
Let's blow an artery Get plastic surgery Keep your apology Give us more detonation..."
Jess took a dramatic bow while Toby looked like he was trying very hard not to laugh.
▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄ Tobi walked into Music a tad late considering everyone was applauding two young ones who looked to be finished. He clapped along with them to be considerate and because he knows how nerve wracking it can be to play in front of a group, no matter your experience. In his hands were a few pages of music and lyrics and strapped across his back was his new guitar, a present from his older brother who unfortunately had joined their sister across the sea. He gave a soft sigh before sitting over by the piano giving a smile and head nod towards Remy and Ariana. ▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄
'Cause you are, the piece of me,
If our love, is tragedy,
I wish, I didn't need
Why are you my remedy?
Chasing, relentlessly,
If our love's, insanity,
Still fight and I don't know why
Why are you my clarity?

Ariana laughed and giggled as everyone clapped and seemed to really enjoy the song she wrote. When two other students walked in and introduced themselves as Jess and Toby, the redhead smiled at them. She knew Jessamine due to the fact that the girl was sorted into Hufflepuff last year, but she hadn't a clue who the Gryffindor boy was. "Totally!" she exclaimed, answering the girl's question. When she complemented Ari's song, the seventh year's smile stretched even wider. "Thanks!" With that, Ariana moved off the stage and went to sit in a chair in the midst of the rest of the students. When the siblings finished their performance, the prefect clapped. Her large, brown eyes rolled from the twins over to Tobi who looked a little upset. Ariana stood from her seat, but before walking over to the fourth year, she cleared her throat and said, "That was an excellent song! Whoever wants to go next, go ahead!" With that, the redhead walked over to the piano at which Tobi was sitting at and sat down in an empty chair next to him. "Hey, Tobi," she said, reaching over to place a hand on his shoulder in comfort. Although the two students weren't entirely close with each other, the older girl did think of the boy as a little brother.
You see, you'd love to run home, but you know you ain't got one Cuz you're livin' in a world that you're best forgotten When you're thinkin' you're a joke and nobody's gonna listen To the one small point I know they've been missing around here
Rick nodded at Cait. Well, it was definitely one thing he could do. He was no longer as nervous as he used to be, at any rate, now the trick was just to get the rest of him to agree with his mind. "Yeah, I think so. Just like we practiced, right?" He clapped along with some of the other acts, thinking they were pretty good. This was probably why he loved Muaic Club, to be honest. He didn't feel like an outsider here. He then looked over at the younger boy that asked him a question, blinking in slight surprise. Wow, well, he should be used to being addressed here, right? "Not a talent show, really, we just come in here to enjoy music and perform, really. It's kind of like a recital, without the crowd."

Caitlin nodded at Rick, "Just like we practiced."Cait clapped after Ari performed and when Jess and Toby performed. When Ariana invited anyone to come up, she looked over at Rick, "Guess that's our cue, right?" Cait stood up and reached out Rick's arm, the one nearest to her, which happened to be his left. She pulled him up to the front of the room before grabbing a spare guitar. Caitlin sat on a stool and began strumming Beneath Your Beautiful and waiting for him to start.

Rick flinched as he felt Cait grab his arm. He didn't mean to do it, but considering it was his left one with the scar, he couldn't help it. It was as much reflex as anything else. Thankfully, he didn't panic like he would have years ago, and just managed to start singing while Cait played. He almost wanted to play his own guitar, but the song didn't call for him to. Instead, he just let the song flow, and carry him away.

"The violin plays a soft melody, as my mind starts to feel ease. Let the music wash over my soul, make my mind pure and whole. Let me be renewed."
Victor just smiled as he sat in one of the chairs near the back, watching the people perform, he would have liked to perform too, but his thoughts were elsewhere.
Snapping back to the present though Victor clapped for the people who just finished. They played well together.
I feelamusedyou know? My inner thoughts are,"The sweet sounds of music..." I'm in the house ofHufflepuff. I am a proudsecondyear My puppeteer says"..."Out of character.
The first year nodded at Rick's words, happy for them. This sounded like the perfect place for Alexander. He eyed the piano longingly needing it, but waited as the Keeper stood to go sing with a gryffindor girl that looked about his age. He enjoyed their song, closing his eyes as he listened to the harmony. When they finished, Alex applauded his vice captain merrily, he and the girl he performed with looked good together, and sounded well together. He'd have to tease Rick a bit later on.
When they finished, Alex could barely contain himself any longer. He stood, looking around. "Is... is it okay if I go?" He asked no one in particular. Nervously, carefully, he made his way to the piano, taking a seat on the bench. His hands went to the keys, running over them a bit to just get a feel for the instrument. He debated what to play- though he wanted to go classical, perform something by Mozart, a sonata, he decided that it was best to keep the mood light, to start by giving the group something they might know. After pondering it a bit, he set his hands down on the ivories and began to play a cover of "Let Her Go," by Passenger. He swayed to the flow of the music, loving it.
It was so great to finally play his beloved instrument. He'd probably take advantage of the club to learn other instruments, too. As he finished the last few chords, he glanced at the audience, hoping that they liked what he had played. Not that it mattered, he just liked playing.

Del Rey slipped into the room with a quiet little grin, taking a seat at the back and settling down to watch. He wanted to join, but he probably wouldn't be performing right then. When he had heard about the club, the blonde was pretty much ecstatic. He was okay with a few instruments- - - travelling a lot and having his father a bit too busy to take him with him to where he had to head made for a lot of spare time. Making himself comfortable, the blonde looked around. Spotting a few people, including the prefect at the Hufflepuff table- - - he waved at her and smiled- - - he waited for the next performance.

Caitlin felt Rick cringe when she had grabbed his arm and flinched a bit herself. After they had finished their song and sat down, she glanced at him, wanting to apologize, but unsure of what to say. Cait watched as a first year sat behind the piano and played a song. It was very good and she quickly clapped for him. Caitlin looked at Rick for a second before blurting out, "I'm sorry! I didn't know I hurt you. I didn't even know I was that strong. I shouldn't have grabbed your arm. I just kinda...grabbed it. I'm sorry. I'm really sorry, Rick."
