The Greed demon crossed his arms, staring at the ice as if the sheer force of his will ought to make it melt. Mei's question brought him out of his distraction, and he looked over at the Jiang Shi. "Not myself, no, but my father had stories. Sometimes the curses are mere annoyances, but they can be fairly serious. People get very strange when it comes to their wealth. So even if we could get to it...unfortunately, probably best not to touch. Damn."
As the Reaper ghoul was oh so stringently pretending he wasn't there, he did the same for her. At least Mei appreciated how amazing he was, and his deep wealth of knowledge related to shinies.
(Ego, it's a beautiful thing.)

This corridor was much the same as the last, except a subtle worrying sense was beginning to nag at the back of the boil's mind. He had no reason to suspect anything had happened.
Oh wait, history and experience...

The echos of voices seemed as though they were getting closer, but considering how close he had originally thought them to be he didn't let it get his hopes up.
Too much.

Frowning, the ghost crammed his hands into his pockets as he walked. He'd headed into these tunnels on a bit of a whim, and now he was forced to wonder why. Hadn't he decided some time back that he wasn't going to participate in anymore wildly dangerous school activities? Surely this counted. Granted, nothing bad has happened yer, but he knew it was only a matter of time.
Doubts or not, he kept going.

A lack of patients kicked his speed up from cautious walk, to careful jog. He had no intention of simply barreling into anything, but it was making him uneasy being on his own.

He reached another door with a panel on the wall beside it, paused only long enough to peek at the number pad, then carried on right through.
At this point the echos of voices were distinctly close, and on top of that he was starting to see shadows, even figures ahead of him as he kept jogging. Finally, he was starting to catch up.
He kept his eyes peeled for Junko.

At Mei's question, the Reaper turned to look at the runes. She frowned at them, stepping closer to the wall and reaching out to almost touch them... she pulled back her fingers at the last second. If the treasure was cursed, maybe these were too. Better not to touch, probably. "Yeah, they do look familiar. I can't place from where, though," she replied with a frown, wracking her brain with no success. And clearly if Roch said the gold was cursed they shouldn't touch it. Duh. She didn't need a jackass of a demon to tell her that.

The ghoul pursed her lips lightly at the Demon boil's reply. "Well, I guess that kinda sucks then." She sighed, would have been nice if they could have gotten to it. Even nicer if it wasn't cured. "What kind of curses tho? Like...ones where you'll instantly dissipate if you touch it orrrrr just get like an itchy rash?" Now the Jiang Shi was kind of curious. She'd never really come across cursed treasure, though she supposed cursed items could fall along those lines. Mother kept a few of those things locked away for safe keeping. Was there a difference in the curses depending on what it was? Frowning at Mitzi's reply, she had a really bad feeling. But she had had a bad feeling since the beginning. Darn it why did she never listen to that gut punch feeling in her stomach? WHY SO CURIOUS!? "I don't like this place one bit..."Looking around, she watched the other students as they poked around as well. What was going on here. She felt so out of the loop.

Kinda? Meixieng clearly underestimated the level of suck here. It sucked thoroughly. "It depends. Usually on how valuable the it is, or how vindictive its owner or the curser." He pondered. "I suspect...this is likely the really nasty stuff, if that boil is so concerned over it."
And then Chryses decided to do something likely thoroughly stupid. The Greed Demon took a step forward onto the lake. It looked solid enough, certainly it could hold him!

When the door opened Mitsu couldn't help but feel a moment of nostalgia. Before them was the lake they had seen in their vision of long ago and it looked exactly as it had. Well, almost. As Mitsu moved a little further in the room drawn by the water she realized it was crystallized. Only proved more as Jericho unleashed a flame against it. " E..easy, Jericho." It seemed some of the other students were venturing out onto the lake and she didn't want them to be burned. At least she had used a gentle voice hoping to not spook the afflicted dragon. Turning toward the lake again Mitsu gave the room a good once over before looking back to Shun. " Its so strange to be here where Quin had been." While the vampire had been intrigued by the treasure she had left it behind as well. " Why do you think there's a hallway to here now....as well as checkpoints?"

Mei stared in awe at the sight before her. It was exactly as she had seen it through Madea's trance class. What she had seen through Ava's eyes. She recalled the Dryad having hearing something like voices in the water, maybe they were still there? Motioning towards the lake, she was slightly shocked to find that the water was completely frozen. But..was it ice? It looked more crystal than ice..how odd..
For now, Mei walked along the ice. Others were already inspecting it, along with other things in the cavern. But for now, the crystal like water was enough to make the doll content with just looking.

Danny knew this place. Oh Jack she knew this place. She followed Mei towards the lake, and for some odd reason the fact that it was water wasn't even on her mind. The scary opposition of the ice just felt welcoming now. It wasn't a danger, it was a challenge.
When she looked into the waters, she saw the gold treasure that had caused problems before. She was torn. She knew those were bad. Those were very, very bad. Those were not to be messed with.
Yet ... they were so pretty. She wanted one. She wanted them all. Why?
"Maybe if I just ..." she mumbled, tapping the ice with a claw. Nothing. She couldn't even chip away at it.
Well it was ice, wasn't it? It looked like Jericho had the same idea she did. Danny stuck out a flaming hand and put it on the ice, waiting for it to melt. Her entire FEAR was screaming no, no, no get the jack back, but she couldn't help it.

"Jackdammit you candlewaxing hotheads," Roch cursed, torn between stopping Amphi and stopping Danny--the idiot demon that had stepped onto the ice could fall in as far as he was concerned, he didn't know the guy.
"Danny!" he called. "That's WATER under that ice! You wanna die?"

Tybalt made a rude sound at Vaith's words. Of course he had to point out the hair.
"Oh hah hah." He crossed his arms over his chest. He was tempted to make a jab at the other boil, but refrained from doing so.
"Glad to see we're not the only crazy people who were dumb enough to snoop." He said instead, grinning. Though before he could say anything more, the faint hissing caught his attention and then--
"Holy s**t.." It was the cave. Just like the one they had seen through trance. It was real! "D-do you guys think this is the same one..? Like the one we saw in...?" A dumb question really. What were the chances that the school had two hidden lakes beneath it?
Mei, the curious thing that she was, was already walking ahead of them; examining the crystallized lake, where Tybalt decided to join her.

Shun's eye narrowed when they came upon the cave. Aside from the shock that it was still here, he was rather wary to see that no one was already in here. That didn't seem like a particularly good sign to him. Even so, it was strange to be finding the cave with his own eyes, rather than following Vel through it. "Someone must have tried to find this place. And didn't want others to find it themselves. Stay on your guard..." he murmured before looking over towards Vaith. "Does the phone have any further messages?" he asked. He had expected Hunters waiting here. They could still be lurking around. Somewhere.
