Momo looked a little sad, pouting a bit. No one wanted to be her friends? And the person didn't even introduce himself. Shrugging off the sadness, she perked up. Maybe battling was the way she could earn his friendship? That might be a good idea. The Spinda female brightened, smiling once more as her paw grazed the pokeballs on her belt. Aw, the Turtwig was so cute! Who to use, who to use! Pulling a ball out, she tossed it forward getting ready to begin!"Can we be friends after this is over?" she asked, hopefully.
There was a flash of red light and out of that emerged a Shiny Ponyta. Rearing up, the pokemon was quite a sight to behold, with blue flames as his mane and tail. Snorting, Azure looked forward wondering what his job would be this time. The knight is shining armor was ready to protect Momo at all costs.

Vince would merely sneer, as if laughing at some joke the young Spinda just wasn't getting. Instead of responding however the young man would slam his fists together, an action which actually caused the falling snow to move away from his body "Cragus, show this little kit what it means to be on the Guard Team!" He bellowed, voice ringing clear across the valley. One could almost here the avalanche that had caused off in the distance.
Neither cold nor snow, nor the Fire-Type standing right in front of him seemed to bother Cragus however, who kicking off the ground suddenly began spinning on the edge of his shell, tucking his little arms inward and balancing his head just right to remain level. The result of which was a spinning blurr ofg brown where one couldn't quite tell where the Turtwig's shell was and wasn't!

Azure looked back once at Momo. The Shiny Ponyta then turned back to look at his opponent and there was a blazing fire in his eyes. He had sworn to protect her from all evil and those with the intent to harm her. This was the first battle she had entrusted him to...and he wasn't about to let her down. The flames from his mane and tail suddenly turned into a blazing inferno in which formed a cloak that completely surrounded the Ponyta's body. Pawing at the ground with one hoof, he burst forward ready to slam into his opponent with Flame Charge! His method was simple. There was no need to figure out the Turtwig's weak point! Instead he was going to burn him down with sheer force and the strength of his flames! With Momo believing in him, nothing could stop him!

Vince gave a faint snort, jaw clenching briefly before he commented "Seems the wall is crashing down." Finding an order in that statement Cragus would leap into action, his eyes turning red as he charged straight forward, limbs flailing wildly as he threw himself head first at his opponent. Seemed he was going for a Thrash!

The Ponyta landed a decent hit, the flames having engulfed the Turtwig. As the grass pokemon's eyes turned red with rage and he lunged headfirst towards Azure, the Ponyta had to come up with a stategy and fast! Pushing off with his back hooves for an extra boost, he tried to avoid the attack and jump to the side.

While the Ponyta may have been fast, a straight out running speed wasn't going to do him much good against the rapid and unpredictable movements of the increasingly violent Turtwig. Worse yet as the Turtwig's limbs crashed and slammed into Azure's body it was clear he wouldn't be letting out any time soon! He was going to be using Thrash awhile longer!

The Ponyta was pushed backwards from the steength of the Thrash. The Oonyta snorted. One blow wasn't going to take him down. Rearing up, he became engulfed in flames charging forward with Flame Charge! Even seeing the other pokemon charging with Thrash once more, he wasn't going to give in that easily. A knight had to be able to know how to fight but also to endure. This battle had just begun!

Face, kidney, spleen, shin. Time and time again the Turtwig's limbs would connect, his flat bottomed feet rattling bone, his sharp beak like mouth breaking skin, and his thick durable shell sending a shudder through the Ponyta's body; and still he was not done. Eyes red as garnet, mouth frothing like a Corphish, the Turtwig would continue to rain down a stream of attacks down upon the Ponyta. Thrash was a devestating move, not for it's power, but for relentless nature!

The Ponyta winced. The attacks felt like they were getting stronger. The Turtwig's mouth was frothing and his eyes were still bright red. Azure watched as the pokemon charged again. The Ponyta tried to gallop off to avoid the attack.

Blood and snow flew through the air as the Turtwig continued on it's rampage; but as one more blow was struck the Grass-Type would suddenly halt, teetering back as the colour faded from it's eyes, the large orbs crossing suddenly before his vision began to swirl. Apparently all the blood rushing from beast's head had left him feeling a bit disoriented, his view of the world becoming distorted as he began teetering about. It would seem the result of Cragus's barrage had left him thoroughly confused!

Azure felt the last blow almost bring him down to his knees. The strength behind it and the constant attacks was wearing him down. The Ponyta shook his head, trying to ignore the pain that was now radiating throughout his entire body. The pokemon was surprised when another attack didn't come. Instead he watched as the Turtwig teetered from side to side. Now! A determined look overshadowed his gaze as he charged, the flames once more erupting to form around his body. This time, he put all of his remaining strength into this one blow. This was going to be his final chance and he needed to prove that he could protect Momo! A knight must never give up!
Unfortunately for the Ponyta an odd bit of luck was on the Turtwig's side, the reptile's teetering carrying him out of the path of the Ponyta's attack and into safety....if you could call landing head first in a snow drift safety.
The Pokemon's trainer didn't seem particularly bothered by this outcome however. Instead Vince would just lift an arm and command "Energy Ball!" Only question was whether it would work!

Azure looked frustrated. Again and again his attacks continued to fail him. What was happening? The Turtwig landed in a snow drift and easily avoid his attack. Quickly, he galloped away ready for the attack. Should he risk a counter? The flames rose but he was hesitant for once. Would they fail him again? If he missed, there would be dire consequences. He needed to survive and wait out the battle. There would be other opportunities to attack. That in mind, he darted to the left trying to avoid the attack.

For a moment the Turtwig would manage to steady himself, gathering energy from the sun high above and gathering it into a condensed sphere in his maw. It was nothing as powerful as a Solar Beam but it should certainly do the trick!
Unfortunately the Turtwig's dizziness seemed to have thrown off his depth perception. Incorrectly accounting for the distance the Energy Ball would hit the snow mere millimeters from the Ponyta's feet; but at the same time as the miss a clarity would return to the Turtwig's eyes. It would seem it hadn't taken him long to snap out of it!
Snapping his beak like mouth shut the Grass-Type would move onto the tip of his shell once more, sending his entire body spinning in the same defensive maneuver he'd attempted at the beginning of this battle!

Momo was thrown out of her thoughts and she noticed Azure wasn't doing too well in the battle. The Spinda girl reached into her pack and pulled out a potion. She motioned to Azure to come close and then sprayed it all over the Shiny Ponyta's wounds. It was the only help, besides encouragement, that she could give him.
Azure felt the healing effects of the potion take charge. His wounds healed and suddenly he could endure and deal out a lot more. This was his chance. Momo believed in him and he wouldn't let her down! Instead he watched his opponent, awaiting the Turtwig's next move.
