"More lessons! Is that all your kind do with their long lives, plot and think! What gives you the ******** right to lecture me!"

He was calming as the words she spoke had punctured through his brain yet he still did not want to speak about it. He could remember the warm nights with her, then the screams, the laughter, the fire and then the morning came and all he wanted was to see her again. His shoulder began to smoulder under his t-shirt, the jeans giving off the slight order of burning synthetic fibres.

"n..n..not at first."

He could feel the heat in his fingers and temples as he spoke, Dagoth's eyes begged Roan not to continue down this path. He did not want to go here, he did not need this and more than anything he feared it deeply.

"Plotting and thinking is a hell of a lot better than what YOU'VE spent your portion of eternity doing, pirate. Look at you. Afraid of your own shadow in case it reminds you of something you don't want to talk about, and lashing out at anyone who makes you deal with it."

Snorting, she took a long drag on her smoke, then stood up and exhaled, practically into Dagoth's face.

"Not at first, but she did. More than once. More than three times. She bound you to her. She enslaved you, in such a way you didn't even know you were bound. You thought you loved her. You thought she cared about you. You thought nothing could ever feel as good as one more little sip in her company, and no price was too great.

And THAT is why SHE is scum, and you can't fix your past. Cos you didn't know what it was she'd even done. You've blamed yourself this whole time, for whatever it was you caused, and though you knew she'd used you, you thought it was your CHOICE that allowed her to do so.

So... what you going to do, Atlantean? Going to throw a swing for me? Going to burn me alive? Going to cut me up for knowing the truth? And then what? Drink my blood? Cave in to a want you know you feel but don't understand?

Or are you going to learn to get over this, and do something about it?

'Through all the bright hours, I cling to expectation until darkness comes to reclaim me.' It's your choice whether you walk in the shadow, or in the light.

What happened wasn't your fault, it's time you faced up to it and put the blame where it belongs. You have no control over your innate abilities because you have no control over your own head yet. I watched the TR replays. You have potential Dagoth, but you have to get control of the fire, and make it obey YOU, not vice versa."

She knew very well she could get very hurt during this exchange, very quickly. Not least of which because she could indeed smell smouldering. But she pressed on regardless, her eyes alight at the risk she was taking.

The two may hear soon the sound of an engine; a motorcycle had pulled up near the garage. Of course, the bearing that had on their conversation was negligible; Nines, when he dismounted in the garage, had one and precisely one destination in mind: he was going to take a shower, to hell with everyone else involved.

"Well that's were you are wrong. I loved her before I tasted her blood, she was my first everything. I had lived for 150 years the dutiful son, heir and solider but she set me free. When my...my city burned my reward was to feed from her. She brought me to the modern world of then, I revelled in the destruction and blood. Then one day she was gone and the withdrawal came. I clawed, murdered, and did the most unspeakable of things to get one more taste. I know where the blame lies Roan, its the man who stands before you"

Dagoth spoke as he burnt, his skin slowly being covered in a lazy yellow flame. Further into his brief tale he could feel the tears welling up in his eyes, a great pain flowing out of him as he spoke. The pain was not for what he had done but for the blood he missed, it was her. Everything was her.

"I want to be reclaimed, but I want my bloody vengeance first."

"A-ha... and there's the truth, from the horses mouth. About time."

If she'd seemed the SLIGHTEST bit smug earlier... it was a million times more manifest now. Because now she truly was feeling smug. Anger was a great way to get people to tell you things they wouldn't normally, and despite stating he didn't discuss his past, he'd just said in plain english everything she'd wanted to hear.

"Vengeance. I approve of vengeance. So.. wanna set yourself free? You know what you need to. Everything you need to advance in skill is here. You need nothing but time and focus to refine your skills. You have that. But you aren't anywhere near free. Sounds to me you need a choice. The first of many. Interested?"

She heard the motorbike pull up, and idly pressed a button on her mobile as she pulled it briefly form a pocket, then replaced, eyes never leaving Dagoth.
The result? Nines would find vitae in his rooms for after his shower, as well as fresh towels. Jan was as useful as ever.

He roared in frustration, his rage boiling over but the fire on his body didn't grow. It stayed as it was hovering over his frame before snuffing itself out as Dagoth placed his hands over his faces. His palms starting at his eyes before ending up resting on the top of his crimson head. The pirate studied Roan carefully, paying very careful attention to her questions.

"What do you get out of this arrangement? I already know my blood won't do you any good. Tainted was the word she used. Choice is always one sided from those in your position."

"Maybe an ally. Maybe a chance to find whatever passes for freedom for myself. Maybe a chance to stave off the same old pattern, the same old boredom."

She shrugged as she answered him, smiling as she watched his reactions. That he'd cooled himself off so quickly was a good sign he WAS learning while he was here. She'd put money on him having just gone berserk if she;d asked what she just had when they first met. Tonight, he studied her in turn, just as she studied him. Idly, she wondered how long it'd be until he started deliberately pushing HER buttons.

"Tainted blood my arse. Just because she was too weak to handle it, doesn't mean we all are. Besides. I have aces up my sleeves, remember?
If either of us is tainted, it's me."

Chuckling at the thought, she tossed her cigarette butt away and spontaneously slit her left wrist with the claws off her right hand. Holding the bleeding hand up, she watched her own vitae pool and flow down her arm, dripping from her elbow onto the grass.

"It's all a game. Just a game. Once you know the rules, its not so hard to play, and the temptations become part of the fun. Resist, don't resist, fall, rise, its even possible to enjoy the sensations without feeling the disease, the dependencies.
Just a game. With living pieces. But the Queen can't ever hold final check against a rival King. For that... one needs a King of one's own."

Her eyes shifted from her arm to Dagoth, and revealed them to be the same colour for once. Red.
What stared at him wasn't human, but nor was it the horror story of his past.

"Care to play the game? You can't win if you don't play."

Holding her hand out towards him, her blood flowed faster, while laughter rested on her lips.

He staggered forward as he could smell the rich heavy blood leaking from her arm, there was an ache in his skull, burning desire in his stomach and everything in his bones said feed. He would take very small steps towards her, stopping for just a moment before continuing on until he was within arms reach of her. His eyes had grown cold now, the fire which had consumed them snuffed out as his addiction was brought forward. He could feel every vein his body quiver in anticipation, he licked his dry lips as his eyes darted from Roan's arm to her eyes.

::You need this::
"....I need this..."
::eaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat::

He convulsed before her, groaning with intense pain as he clutched his sides thrashing about. His head would snap towards and spoke with a force he had never shown before.

"BURN TEMPTRESS!"

There was a sudden drop in pressure before the Pirate became ground zero for a fireball sized football pitch, the flames would roll out in every direction. Scorching grass, melting bone, glass and steel as it craved fuel to keep it going. The fireball would last for a full minute if not contained before burning out leaving the prone body of Dagoth lyinging face first in the ground muttering softly to himself but completely out cold.

"Still not ready..."

The voice which spoke, in the wake of the flames that had left an ungainly mark all across the lawn, was not that of the female, Roan. It was masculine, throaty and deep.

Of course, it was hard to tell what the figure Dagoth had burned with his outcry WAS, considering the skin was charred to black, lined with cracks and rents, the hair gone and only two eyes opening, whole and undamaged after the firestorm had passed.
The eyes were cobalt blue, piercing.... until they blinked and what reopened were the familiar mismatch of Roan's.

Cracking her neck to either side, she stepped forwards, with flakes of crispy skin falling off her like leaves from a tree, showing normal skin regenerating underneath.

"A temptress simply means an alluring woman. It has no connotation for good, or for bad. I'm not even a woman though, and you assume my end goals so eagerly, Atlantean...

No. You are not ready. Such a pity."

Picking the prone form up, she winced briefly as exposed raw flesh contacted with Dagoth's weight, then carried him inside, shedding all the way.
As her skin peeled on her chest, the burn marks underneath seemed... symmetrical... feathery almost... before healing faded them away.

"She told me she was eighteen!?"

Slamming into an upright position from the bed, Corbin hollered at the top of his lungs, eye darting about the room frantically for a brief few moments before he sighed, and relaxed.

Raising his hand to cup his brow with a groan overflowing with grogginess the fledgling burped before shuffling to the side of his bed, feet touching the floor for the first time in lord knows how long and he felt it. He hated sleep, it made his whole body ache for some reason, though it should pass shortly.

"Wonder how long i've been laying about..."

Standing, he'd move to the wardrobe and c**k a brow at the contents, before picking out a new jacket, and pair of jeans. He then found his belt complete with pouches by the bed, before starting the hunt for a smoke.

"You wont be needing any of that, save the last bit."

As Corbin had opened the wardrobe, his room had been empty save for him. Once he closed it again however and sought smokes, Roan had appeared from somewhere, sat in the wicker chair the door had obscured.
She was side on to him, with her fingers steepled while her elbows rested on her knees, but her gaze and head shifted to the side to look at the young man full on, a dangerous smile hiding just behind her eyes.

"You may want to have several cigarettes, in fact, before we get started."

Staring down at the woman he had taken for Sire, he looked thoroughly unimpressed, though not with her, just in general with his current position perhaps.

"I forgot... It's time to play, isn't it."

Turning his body to face her he would dispose of the kink in his neck before then moving directly into her line of sight, holding a hand out expectantly.

"I'll need a light t'boot. Then, you can get yours, boss."

"Play?"

She snorted, while producing her lighter for him to take, recrossing her legs as she did so.

"I do many things, often ghastly, but I very rarely play, childe. Smoke em if you got em, we're going downstairs."

And thus, the way would be led through the marked doors all else had been warned away from, and down to the expected room at the very end of the passage - the holding cell.
PostPosted: Mon May 07, 2012 12:52 pm

"If you say so boss."

Finding his own pack of smokes, crinkled and sad looking in his a** pocket, the fledgling followed in tow as he lit a smoke.

Taking note of the route they took, a defensive rattle could be heared in his throat, aggressively like a growl, and he reached for the pack again, opting to light another smoke. With two now between his lips he then entered the holding cell, and that growl was replaced with a sigh.

Ignoring the distant voice in the back of his mind, not his own, cackling he guessed, he opted to light a THIRD smoke, and pull hard on the three.

Looking about, he'd enter the center of the room. Standing there he'd turn to face Roan and with a still defiant look in his indigo eye, raise both his arms to parallel with his shoulders.

"Ready when you are?"

"You really aren't, which is entirely the point."

Smoking one of her own, while he finished up his three, she was in no rush and would let him have this pleasure at least.

The cell was different from a day or so earlier when Corbin had finally awoken. For one thing, it now housed a table to one side of the room, covered with a sheet. Under this, indistinct shapes.
Next to it, a fresh bucket of steaming water, and another filled with ice and vitae packs.
And in the very corner of the room, propped against the wall, the over-sized sword Ferago, light playing over it unnaturally at irregular intervals.

The centre of the floor hosted a large drain set into the dip of the floor, and it was over this the anticipated chains hung. Yet despite the gesture made by Corbin for now, Roan made no use of them.

"You know what is about to happen, I assume?"
