The collective entity know as Damien was just pleased that his friends were not going splat from the sky. The big canine was far too into making sad eyes at west and prodding the spaced out boil with a wet puppy nose. "wesst, wesssssssst." one of the heads began to grumble out and whined at the demon and his sudden daydream moment.
As for the head that was concerned for the well being of the Baku, Melas was going to allow being petted just this once. hardened eyes stared and slowly blinked as he pretended not to like the attention. "Safe and sound. you? it muttered out in its broken speech pattern, copying what the ghoul said.
Of course that left Demi with his sis and the sudden hug to his nose. The hound let out a snort soon as she was done and pawed at the ground. "Meat. sounds rood." he echoed enthusiastically. Did she have some on her?
With all the spare sets of eyes, it was kind of hard to miss the figure in the sky departing, even easier to hear it as it departed as the hound dropped low to the ground and whined horribly at the sounds that came, the horrible sets of whispers he heard in triplicate. even louder and more prominent than he could ever imagine. Just as soon as it started , the sounds died away, but the ringing in his ears refused to fade like the glass that practically poured down around them all.
next stop, the infirmary.

Sammy reached out going to hug Sibyl and Siddie together when the beast finally shifted again. Instead she found herself turning towards the fallen beast as it broke apart and floated away. Hundreds of voices, raising up as it floated away. Her left arm began to burn causing her to squeeze at the bones.
You're stubborn, one day you'll end up just like me.
The twin voices rang out in her head, a Dragon, hunters, stone everything turning to stone. Siddie gone, her friends gone, or was she the one gone?
How many times will you get back up before you never get up again?
Memories flashed by, fire every time, once from a dragon, lava from a course ran by Nox, blue insanity flaring all around her when Caelius left with the horsemen, each time she relived the pain, but this time she didn't wake up in a hospital she simply felt the burning sensation of her body being burned away.
You are Halloween. And you can die
The world was shaking, glass rained down, was this how the world ended, was this what Red felt? Suddenly things snapped back to place, Sammy let out a shout of shock as her mind crashed back into place her left arm still itching from the wave of Insanity, from her own FEAR and insecurity.
Even as the earth settled down, she collapsed backwards onto the ground eyes wide and burning bright with FEAR, what she didn't expect was the sky to suddenly be so bright! Her new eyes where not only able to see in the dark, but sensitive to the sudden shift in light causing her to squeak in surprise.
"Aaah t-thats new," she grumbled.HP: 21

Roch walked away and moments later, everything happened; the collective whisper of home, the changing fog...and then it hit her. The paranoia, the hallucinations, the weakness and insecurities; they sent her to her knees, her cold bones snapping in protest.
She just wasn't good enough. She'd never be good enough. All the work her friends put in to her was for nothing; Useless. Pathetic. Weak. Stuttering and stammering and rarely able to look someone in the eye. Ridiculously stubborn to the point of annoyance. Perserverence to the point of lonely death. There was always someone else better than her, always someone else her friends would rather run to, and they could be found in spades.
They always walked away.
These feelings weren't new to her, the crippling lack of self esteem was a constant companion, despite all her personal growth. On the days she seemed okay it was merely toned down, but right now it was amplified; she felt like she was in the middle of a crowded room, and yet nobody could hear her screaming.
The wave of FEAR passed, but the damage had been done. It hurt more than the glass that rained down on her. Stitches were severed, her bare skin lacerated, shards embedded into her flesh...but none of that hurt as badly as her thoughts did. She was tired, she hurt, she was just...done. Done with everything. With bodies, with school, with---
Something caught her attention, drawing her from her grim thoughts. Christof's head had rolled towards her, bumping lightly against her torn knee. Both of her arms were barely intact but she reached out anyway, trembling as she scooped the head up. There were tears in her eyes as she stared down at him; even just a piece of this boil still made her stomach twist.
She had no words for him, no comforting phrases or even a smile. Instead she leaned down to give him a rather brief kiss before hugging him, gently nuzzling her torn face into his hair.
Well, at least they were all still alive...that had to amount to something.

Muka had watched as Calder ran to his friend in the slay. Then a skeletal ghoul also came and went and still the strix hovered in the air beside Legs and debated what to do. Legs didn't respond to needing a lift but since he wasn't keen on throwing himself towards the master puppeteer, he simply hung there with no sounds but the flapping of wings. Then there were literal waves. And magic. And then he felt himself meet the ground again as a wave of pain and suffering and eternal entrapment hit him. He was sure he'd never get out.... he'd never be allowed to leave home ever again.Just as it came, it went and the owl found himself on his back on the ground, Miss Legs still next to him. "Miss Legs? Are you alright?" It was the raining glass that did him in. His form dispersed for only a second before reforming and leaving the strix so weak that he could barely move. " Screeeeee..." He cried miserably from the ground. Not words, but an animalistic lament of pain. My HP: 1 / 30 My Status: Dead & revived Anything attacked/attackers should note: Ulmuka is a 6' owl monster.

The pair of limbs took no issue with the skeletal ghoul's "double-tap" of the kelpie. Better safe than sorry and there were still (perhaps permanently) lingering residue of anxiety regarding the militant Sammy. So she tried to draw as little attention to herself, inching closer towards Ulmuka when the next thing she knew everything went black.
When she came to, she felt weak. Horribly, horribly weak. Not to mention in utter pain but without a voice to make her groans known, all she could do was twitch pathetically. At the boil's inquiry, all Legs could do was weakly wiggle her feet from the ankles down. She'd wiggle her toes but it wasn't like the boil could see them from inside her shoes.
My HP: 1 / 30 My Status: Dead & revived Anything attacked/attackers should note: Legs is down for the count beside Ulmuka.

HP: 40-18 = 22 Rain took the offered -- albeit sparkly -- hand in her own and shook it with enough fervor to bob her pigtails up and down. She didn't know many zombies having kept to the small cemetery her family owned and ran but her parents knew a lot of them! She'd have to write her mum when she got back to her room. Maybe one of them had heard of the Van Rotte or M-McNeal family? There was another ghoul there that Rain tried desperately to ignore. That became impossible when the ghoul spoke up and introduced herself as well. She hoped she didn't come off as rude as she felt but it was hard being around reapers and it made her feel bad because this one really seemed like a nice ghoul. How could she explain her trepidation? Hi, I'm Rain. You smell really good. Can you bend over so I can bite out your brain? That wasn't the proper way to treat another student and would probably result in expulsion. She'd have to be careful around that one. She did not trust herself around reapers and she wasn't entirely sure she trusted them around her either. However, It didn't take long for Rain to trust Alex with every coagulated blood drop in her body. In fact, she knew he was a good sort of zombie the moment he spoke up to try help Shine feel better. She pulled the ghoul into a short tight hug to reassure her that all would be okay. "It is nice to meet you Alex, Mitzi and M-M-Mort," she mimicked, unaware that the second boil had a stutter. When the second boil introduced the monster nearby, Rain nearly jumped from excitement. "Chuppi!!!! I barely recognized you! Wow, you seemed to have grown some since I last saw you. Or maybe I had? Maybe we both have!" It seemed like a lot had changed in the last year. "Chuppi and I served on the student council together last year, M-M-Mort," she explained. Who would have thought that in her quest to find Shine, she'd make two new friends? Tossing Mitzi another stare, she sighed. Okay, fine, she thought to herself, scratching out the mental two and scribbling in a three. She had always believed in treating all students equal and she wasn't about to be a hypocrite now, unless she got.. really really hungry. When M-M-Mort offered his coat to the two ghouls - as Rain was oblivious to the fact that she was considered their equal - she became overcome with a mix of guilt and jealousy. She slipped off her jacket and turned to face Shine. This was awkward territory for her so she paused as if studying every blood stain on the jacket. She felt bad that it was sleeveless, it would not provide as much warmth as the boil's jacket would. For some reason, it really bothered her to think about him wrapping his coat around Shine. She knew she should step back. Maybe Shine could find a boilfriend. Both of them seemed so nice. Boils were lucky. They got to be protectors, heroes, knights. Was it so wrong that she wanted to step in and be a hero like them? Did all girls have to be princesses? Couldn't she protect Shine? She decided it didn't matter to her. She was never meant to be a normal zombie. "Thank you M-M-Mort, but I got her covered," she smiled. Was that a pun? She did like puns! Leaning over, she wrapped her jacket around Shine's shoulders. Then she took her long hair and twisted it carefully to fit it inside the hood, which she then pulled up over the rainbow speckled head. Shine looked really cute in the jacket! All of her worries and doubts seemed to fly out of the casket then and she leaned in to softly kiss the bruised jaw. "You aren't ugly, Shine," she whispered. "You look like a piece of candy and that can't ever be a bad thing, right?" Just when all the pieces came together in her decomposed yet oddly beautiful universe, it came crashing down.. literally. The fog came back thicker than ever and her head filled with voices and images that she couldn't tell was real or not. In her head, Shine had looked disgusted when she gave her the jacket and the boils and ghouls were all standing around her.. laughing. She dropped to her knees and buried her face into her hands wanting to get away from them. Why were they laughing? Why did Shine hate her? When the madness left her, she pulled her hands away and saw that her arms were covered with glass shards. She ran her fingers over her head and found glass embedded into the scalp but nothing felt deep or unlife-threatening. She had a really high threshold for pain so in the end, she wasn't too beaten up, at least physically. She kept her eyes to the ground, though she wanted so desperately to see if Shine was okay. She was a coward. She was afraid that the other ghoul would look at her with that horrible expression. She had never been hurt like that before and a part of her knew it hadn't been real. She might not be the brightest zombie in the jigsaw puzzle, but she wasn't stupid. Why was it so hard to let go? Why had it hurt her so much? Scared her so badly? Could it be? Did it mean? Was it? Could undead hearts even... It was then that two very simple realizations came to her. The first appeared as a few tears trickled down a lone cheek. It caught her by surprise so when she wiped them off, she couldn't help but stare at them and watch them dry up on the back of her hand. It didn't matter that only one of her eyes had cried. She cried! For all of her unlife, she had been unable to do that simple act. She had been sure that her tear ducts had dried up or decomposed! She was not as broken as she thought! The second had been there for awhile now but she hadn't let herself believe it was possible. She had always known Shine was special. Rain worried about her, wanted to protect her and she definitely did not like others being sweet to her. The simple truth was that her world had changed the moment she had met Shine. It could mean only one thing. heart Rain Rottingham was in love. heart

He barely had the energy but there was a cracking & stretching noise, a painful one, and a grunt and soon in the owl's place there was a boil laying in a soiled white and gold coat. He was still wearing his costume from the play, though now it was ruined from snow, waves and dirt. Not to mention glitter from the various bedazzled students running around. His usual grin was now completely upside down and he clacked his teeth in displeasure. Muka pushed himself up on his palms, every movement hurting his frail body. He probably should have thought about going to the infirmary but instead he seemed concerned with Legs. The idea of leaving half-a-ghoul alone was not what a gentlemonster would do! It was unthinkable. "Can you get up? Do you need to find Tess?" His voice was strained and he wavered, just in a sitting position, but was more concerned with her. He did mentally acknowledge that he knew nothing about her species and maybe she didn't want to go back to Tess. Somehow logic told him that healing would be faster if the two halfs of ghoul were together..

He was holding Taryn. He'd been about to hold Danny as well, his hand going out to invite her closer, to use her warmth to make up for how jacking FREEZING he was--
Then it happened. Pain, roaring pain, but then the insanity.
Alone, standing in the bottom of the well, but this time water puddled around his ankles, slowly creeping up his legs, tugging him under as the well filled like a cup. He looked up, seeing the faces of the people he'd grown to love at the school, Xiu, looking down at him in disgust, then walking away. Demi, growling angrily at him, teeth flashing as he tried to reach the punk down at the bottom. But he faded as well. Danny, laughing at him, hugging Rikki as she pointed and giggled, Taryn sticking her nose up, storming away because she had finally realized what a piece of crap he was.
More and more of his so called "friends" looking at him like he was a display in a freak show, or the criminal on trial. Boogies came as well, holding up thick folders and threatening him with juvie. Bones, Fang, Mrs Wheedle... His father, his grandfather, all looking down as if they were glad he was dying. No one offered to help--and his mother. He saw a shadow that silhouetted her, smelt the booze from the bottle she held, then watched, inwardly screaming, as she happily poured some of her alcohol on his head.
Then the hunters came. That same witch from the trap place staring down at him, then snorting. "He's not worth it, but grab him anyways, we'll kill him in good time."
But the icy water crept higher and higher, sucking away his life, leaving him drowning as the ghosts from so long ago swam around him, laughing happily. "Gonna be a ghooooost, gonna be a ghooooost," they chanted like children. He tried to move, to bat them away, he'd much rather be alone than with them--
The water had reached his chest. It tugged at the chain he wore around his neck, then crept higher, pooling around his throat, lapping at his chin--
Then it was over. "SON OF A b***h!" he bellowed, jerking back to reality. "Jack that sucked," he muttered, running a hand over his face.

"Likewise." He might have given Needle a friendly smile, that is if it were not for the fog monster seemingly intent on destroying them all. As it was, his voice was hurried and his answer brief, not daring to take any more attention than he had from the monster. His fur ruffled, tail lashing as he glared at the fog, muscles coiled as if preparing to lunge forward. He would fight until he--a pause, his eyes narrowed. Something was happening, the fog was withdrawing, fading. Had they defeated it? Or had it-- The thought was broken, any hope or thought of peace shattered. A roar wrenched its way from his throat, clawed forelimbs immediately going to his ears, desperately trying to block out the voices. AHHHHHHHHH!! It seemed the more he tired, the more the voice, the insanity threatened to tear him apart. Please stop! He couldn't bear it, the voices, the screaming, the images and visions, nitemares too horrific to repeat no matter how tightly he closed his eyes. Stop, Stop, STOP! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!! It was hard to say when one nitemare ended and the next began, or how long the ground had shook before the dragon became aware that the quake had thrown him to his belly against the hard earth. The sound of screaming echoed unbearably, painful in his ears as his forelimbs moved to cover his head, an instinct attempt to protect himself from falling debris. Oh Jack, was this really how it ended? He didn't know how long it lasted or when it ended. For all he knew he could have laid their motionless in silence for an eternity before his eyes at last opened. A low groan, his forelimbs fell to the ground, his head shifting at least enough to prove he was still alive. Alive, was he really? Battered, bruised, and bearing several deep gashes that currently leaked silver blood over his dark scales, Sheridan did not feel especially alive. Lifting his head at that moment seemed as if it would take more energy than he had left, standing was not going to happen. "Pe...tro....Ne...are you...where..." It was all the speech he had, his head barely turning enough to look to either side in search of his companions. He was tired, so much pain, maybe he'd lay here for now and rest... HP: 1/30 ( 19-9-9=1 ) Status: Alive, but injured Notes: Sheridan is still in natural form, but he's probably not getting up on his own right now.

The fog was making the already antsy horse boil even worse. It was only thanks to Needle and Sheridan's presence that he managed to keep his focus and keep himself in check. He couldn't afford to lower his guard. But no matter if he had raised his guard or were hyper-aware of their surroundings.
What came next was not something he could have done anything about. His first instinct was to shield Needle with his entire body while one arm flung to the side in an attempt to push Sheridan back. The voices were too much for the boil to handle not to mention the ground seemed to be quaking and all that glass.
All that glass!!! The horse boil had no time to apologize as he haphazardly pushed Needle to the ground and practically threw himself on top of her to shield her from the hail of shards. The glass drew red lines on exposed tanned skin and connected the puncture-wounds on his bare back. It was a small price to pay if it meant minimizing Needle's injuries. He would have pulled Sheridan to him and under him if the boil had been in his humanoid-guise. He only hoped the dragon's scales and fur were tough and thick enough.
"Y'-y' alright'?" he rasped through the pain, asking both Needle and Sheridan. He slowly straightened himself, wincing as he did so to respond to the dragon boil, "'M here! 'M here! Don't try moving!" he barked, not wanting the dragon to aggravate his injuries.
My HP: 10 My Status: Alive Anything attacked/attackers should note: Bleeding pony is bleeding while guarding Needle and reaching out to Sheridan.

Leg's movement was sluggish and lacking in grace and if someone pointed that out to her, she was going to dig deep and find the strength to slam stiletto heels into that someone's crotch. Her hips dipped forward, slightly, an affirmative that she can stand and that she would very much appreciate locating her other half.
Her heel dug into the ground again, scratching out a short "Tnx" to the boil. She wobbled and suddenly pitched forward when the same heel she'd use to write with snapped. It was a good thing she couldn't speak out loud because the profanity she would have been using was very unbecoming that of a ghoul.

Calder curled in as the world shook, his ears splitting as screams and howls of anguish and madness tore through his mind and pulled him apart. He gripped tightly to his bundle, eyes closed and whining into the fabric. How often had they experienced these moments - where he thought he would die, or had died and was hovering away from ever being solid again? Where he felt hopeless to change his situation? Useless to those he wanted to keep safe? Regret over not being of better use or making the right decisions? Hatred for all those things that went against them without any cause from him or reason aside from ones he did not or had yet to understand?
And here they were, and he held tightly, wishing he could summon everyone he knew and did not know into his tight embrace and keep them shielded within his grasp.
Then all went quiet, and Calder opened his eyes. Fear trickled down his brow and Amrita's coat was dotted with cuts and pieces of glass, but peeling back the covered, he gave a worn smile to Barth. "Good morning." It was a new day. Another luckily missed death.
He turned about, and noticed Christof further away. He would not have the power to carry them all this way. Forgetting Malodore's orders, he adjusted Barth to rest against his back, and then moved to Christof, shifting as he did so.
A soft muzzle brushed against the Igor's head.

Muka nodded and once more that smile of his was back. It wasn't as large as usual but just seeing his face smilig was a big relief. He gasped when her heel broke. "Oh no! Your lovely shoes!" He made a mental note to buy her a new pair as a late Chrismastival gift and have them sent to her dorm. It was a dirty rotten shame to see the lovely Legs limping unevenly around so as delicately as he could Muka kneeled, and picked up the limbs and set them on his shoulders like a piggy-back ride. Even if she didn't want to be carried, at least she was getting that boil between her thighs that she always wanted! He then dug his pointed shoes into the mud and stood. He wobbled. He wavered. He closed his eyes to gather his strength to struggle on. Finally he was steady and fine and not falling over. The strix would love a nap though. "Just toe me in the right direction.." Muka giggled slightly and scanned the crowd. Was Tess in the battle? Had she ventured out today?

All of a sudden, there was chaos. Screams and wails in Taryn's head, words she didn't understand that made entire sense. She felt fire and pain and soon her own voice joined the suffering as she shrieked, clinging barely-conscious to Roch as if her life depended on it. There was no specific phobia flaunted, but as the glass rained down and the ground shook, the ghoul could do nothing but cry and scream and clutch the only connection to the real worls that remained.
Then it was over.
Breathing hard, face wet, she looked up to Roch, and then up to the sky. Things... were back to normal. Thank Jack. Oh, thank Jack, they had done it. She felt weak. Faint. For a moment the chimera pressed her face into her friend's chest and then pulled away.
It was over. They had done it.
"...let's get you to the infirmary."
