"G-gah! H-hey there! I-i get that you're excited to be a Jonin, but there's no need for the squealing and t-tight hugs!" Yumiko protested, trying to get Shijura off of her but also trying to be nice at the same time. "B-besides! If you keep hugging me, we won't be able to talk to the Hokage about your promotion!"

Chi stiffened slightly, feeling the wetness and Vale's shaking. She wrapped her arms around him and rubbed his back to hopefully calm the shaking, looking up at him to kiss him lightly on the cheek. "Are you... alright?..." she asked softly, her voice just barely above a gentle whisper.

Vale nodded softly, returning the kiss to her cheek. "Yeah, just, worried." he whispered back, hugging her as close to him as he possibly could.

"Oh yeah." Shijura said letting go of Yumiko go and backing away. "We must hurry! Oh, I can't wait!" She said pressing her hands against her cheeks. "And there she goes getting overly excited before anything has happened." Rhea spoke shaking her head.

"If you're worried about tomorrow..." Chi sighed and rested her head against his chest, closing her eyes. "I'll be alright... I'm not the only one going to be out there in the fight... You'll be there too, along with who knows how many ANBU and Jonin. Maybe even the Hokage himself if he so desires..."

Yumiko sighed, taking a few deep breaths after being released. "Ok ok... Jeez... Let's check the Hokage's office first. If he's not there, we can find him another way." For now, after running a hand through her hair, the ANBU stuffed her hands in her pockets and headed towards the Hokage's Office. I think she's too hyper to be a Jonin... Oh shush, Juunibi. She'll be fine...

Shijura happily smiled as she followed Yumiko towards the Hokage's Office. Holding the ends of her mother's scarf, her smile grew brighter. "Mother would be so proud if she heard what was going on right now." She mumbled staring at the ground as she walked. "I'm sure she would." Rhea said walking next to her looking ahead.

Vale nodded again, only burying his face deeper into her hair. He liked the way her hair felt against his face. It made him feel calm, calmer than he ever would alone. It also gave him a sense of security that he'd only been able to give himself. He'd changed. He'd abandoned Sasuke, and found someone that gave him purpose.

Yumiko glanced over at Shijura, a small smile appearing on her lips. She didn't say anything, but simply shifted her gaze back towards the building. Once inside, the ANBU wasted no time in leading Shijura up to the Hokage's office and knocked on the door.

Chi felt him bury his face in her hair again. It was probably the first time she let anyone get this close, so it was a little different, but she liked it. It felt like there really was someone who cared about her like this. That's when she remembered something the Hokage had said earlier while at the ramen shop: Chi, keep an eye on the Uchiha male. There may be more to him than he's giving away. Chi opened her eyes halfway, looking back up at the Uchiha. "V-vale?... If there was anything... anything that you would be hiding... yo-ou'd tell me, right?..."

"Come in!" Came Sukiru's voice from behind the door.
Vale looked back into Chi's eyes and nodded. He'd been truthful with her up to this point, he wasn't about to lie to her. "Of course Chi. I wouldn't keep anything from you. Ever."

Yumiko glanced over at Shijura and nodded before entering the room. "Hokage-sama? Whether this be you, or one of your clones that you are famous for doing your paperwork... I wish to suggest Shijura Inuzuka to be promoted to the rank of Jonin."

Chi smiled slightly, resting her head on his chest again. "Thank you..." She was quiet for a bit before speaking again, looking back up at him once more. "C-can you... tell me what it was like... being with Taka and all?..."

"May I ask your reasoning?" he asked the ANBU operative. He himself had been thinking about it, but he wanted to know why she wanted the Inuzuka to be promoted.
Vale lead her over to the bed, gently pulling Chi onto his lap and holding her as they sat. "It was...rough. I was seen as a recessive member of the team. As a sickness almost, an outcast. But, family is family."

Following Yumiko inside the Hokage's Office, she glanced around taking in every detail. She glanced over at the Hokage, listening to the conversation going on between them. She clicked her nails together nervously waiting on Yumiko's response.

"Shijura has been a Chunin long enough. Her peers are already mostly Jonin, including Chishio Kaguya. But that's not enough, is it... No. I see that Shijura has proven herself on many accounts, shown true loyalty to the Village, and is in fact skilled in ways that most others in the village cannot accomplish..." Yumiko paused for a moment in thought, glancing from Shijura and Rhea, then back to Sukiru. "And as a personal matter, ANBU and Jonin often work close together, whether it be around the village or on certain missions. I feel confident that I could rely on Shijura if the time came."

Chi didn't argue with being pulled into his lap, finding that now she could lean back against his chest as he spoke. She lowered her eyes, however, hearing how hard life was for him. "And... being here in the Leaf Village isn't much different, is it..." she said quietly. "There's already been Genin and Chunin taunting you... Jonin wanting to hurt you... ANBU clearly not trusting you..." Chi felt another tear run down her face, her hands clenched into fists in her lap.

Sukiru smirked behind his hands. On his desk was in fact, Shijura's files, mission reports, even her rank records. Under a section that read approved, his stamp was already on it. "I'd been contemplating it for a while now, to be honest."
"Not really." He said softly, placing his head on top of her's, his arms around her middle. "I have you, and that makes all the difference to me..."

Yumiko couldn't help a small laugh, crossing her arms. "Well then, I think it's a good time to give her the official rank then, eh Hokage-sama?" Without hesitating, she got behind Shijura and pushed her forward a bit. It wasn't enough to make her fall over, but more or less just to put her right in front of Sukiru's desk.

Chi kept quiet, but she calmed down. Resting her hands over his, she bit her lip as another tear or two ran down her cheek after the first. "I'm... scared... I'm really scared, Vale... W-what if something goes wrong tomorrow?... Wh-what if there's more to the attack that even you don't know about?... What if... something happens to you?..."

Vale just shook his head, holding the person he adored as close to him as he possibly could. "I don't...Know. I'd hope I'd of at least prevented something from happening to you..." he said softly running his fingers through Chi's hair.
Sukiru smiled, holding the file up to Shijura.
