Cassandra froze at the sound of Caelius's voice, the shape of the man with the scythe in the distance, eyes wide.

"s**t."

She immediately stood straight, weapon relaxing in her hands. She wasn't going to pretend she hadn't ben attacking the thing when she totally had been. Hopefully this wouldn't get her called out to do battle with the pole again. Her bruises were still healing from the last round of things.

You'll be fine.

Cass nudged her partner lightly.

"Look lively."

By the time she heard Caelius' voice over the headset, she was beginning to regain some feeling in her limbs and she forced herself up, teeth clenched together as she balled her hands into fists. The chains in her hand was cutting into her flesh and it hurt, but she



'Kintama, I did not do much but get tossed around by this beast.'



She removed her mask enough to spit out the bad taste in her mouth; whatever the thing she breathed in was, it lingered, in her nose and in her mouth, and she hated it.  

[Eight]

"TRAINEES, STOP ******** ATTACKING."

Candace hissed and damn near tore the earpiece from her ear at the yell. What the <********>, Caelius!? She sat up and tried to get to her feet, putting her weight into one leg to give the other some rest as she limped away from the monster. She would listen. She was not going to draw attention from him to herself--

Liiiike that. Candace watched as one of the newbie trainees ran up to the monster and attacked it right after being told to stop. She immediately turned to Katherine, gestured toward her and frowned. "See that? Don't ever do that."

Tori jumped when hearing the bellowing command over the headset from Caelius as it was something that she wasn't expecting. Quickly she shifted from foot to foot as she regaining feeling back, very nervous.



I know but I wanted to do a lot better and to know more too, Aklin.



Sounds like a good idea. As she did have to agree with his as she wanted to know more on fighting and just not in theory.

Getting a better grip on Aklin's handle and held onto his chain tighter as she stood at attention awaiting for further instructions, but the chain clanked very softly as she stood there as she was still nervous.

As Caelius' words rang out through the headsets, Vanessa was suddenly very, very glad that she hadn't gotten in an opportunity to actually attack the monstrous thing before them. She moved back a bit, trying to put some distance between herself and the thing that they were, in fact, not supposed to be attacking.

Volt was, surprisingly enough, still generally being silent. Apparently Caelius scared the Tesla Cannon more than she'd thought.

The redhead spotted her partner, Ceres off to one side, and quickly made her way over to the medic-like woman. "Are you alright?" She asked, straight to the point like usual. The dark-haired woman looked a bit more battered than herself, and Vanessa couldn't help but want to be a shield for the moment, so that the other girl could recover.

It suddenly occured to Vanessa that this monster-thing didn't look like it'd hold up if attacked too much now (then, of course some one attacked it), and a thought came to her. Were they doing to...what, take it and use it for research? Could they do that? Perhaps that was way Caelius didn't want them destroying it completely.

Deryk flinched as Caelius shouted into his headset. It looked like the fight was over for now. Being able to move again, he slowly pushed himself to his feet and stared at the much smaller mass. Was it... wheezing??

Coughing a few more times, he just decided to keep his distance from the thing while looking around to see how the other trainees were fairing. A few... definitely looked a little worse for wear. But now, he finally spotted his partner, in which he made his way over.

"Uh.. hey. Holding up alright?" he asked, trying to make sure Marcus was fine. They were supposed to look out for each other right? He would have stuck by, but he had lost track of him when the creature showed up.

Aleister didn't need to be told twice. He had jumped at the yelling before looking around like a startled rat before following suit and standing at 'attention' Pookie still in his hands.

He was hoping they weren't in trouble.... "Are we in trouble?" He asked her in a whisper eyes trying to find Caelius without moving too much.

Before took Caelius' yell to heart and indeed stopped ******** attacking. O.O He instead took this moment to skeedaddle over to Tori to see how his mission-partner was. "Y-you okay there?" he asked, still wearing his mask.

He wiped at the eye-pieces of his mask, trying to clear it of the dust and sand and sweat smudging it before scanning to see how the others were doing. "Bro! Bix!" DDDDD8 Before gasped in dismay to find the pale-haired Hunter's state. Without thinking, Before grabbed Tori by the wrist and dragged her along as he ran for Bix. "Dude, dude, dude, STAY WITH ME!!!"

The damn black smoke was fogging up the mask and all Leon could hear were the sounds of battle.
"Dammit, I would rather have used my safety goggles than this mask, at least i can see out from that!" he grumbled loudly in irritation at the damn piece of equipment.

All the while his side still burned with a dull heat at the body's response to heal and repair its injured flesh. Today was just horrible all around. And not long after Cael called out and began to do what he does best, Order them around.

Was Cael trying to take the finishing blow or bring it back for research? It was hard to tell with the man. Either way, the boxer still had his weapon at the ready in case there was a sudden sneak attack with the way it was sinking into the pale, unforgiving sand. "Crap, there goes the other bodies in the sand."  

[Eight]

"Yeaaaah I'll be fine..." Candace frowned. Her legs were getting hit more and more lately. The fire, Jordan's hammer, Ariane's balls and chain, this beast..they were going to do some serious damage if she wasn't more careful. Her legs were vital for using her weapon. Maybe...maybe if she sucked it up and visited Dr. H he could check on her legs and make sure she wasn't doing any long-lasting damage on ******** that, she'd go see Clarice first.

The frown became a grin when she looked toward her partner again, giving her a thumb's up. "You did pretty well for a newbie! Good job." She even held her hand out palm out for a high five. Don't leave her hanging, bro.

"That's some weapon you have there," She told Wilson once he had returned to their side, "Nice attack." She was certain that the other death trainee had managed to deal a fair amount of damage to the monster. Eva turned her gaze back to Ryan then, her brows pulling together as she tried to figure out how he was fairing. It doesn't look good--!

Eva flinched sharply at Caelius' sudden order, dropping Chara in her lap and having the same hand fly up to clutch her head. Geez, had that really been necessary?! But it had successfully caught everyone's attention.

Or everyone who still had a headset on, at least.

When she turned to see Reine land a strike on the monster even after Caelius' order, Eva quickly looked back up towards Wilson. "Wilson, take care of Ryan. I'll be right back." Getting to her feet, she immediately head towards Reine, trying to ignore the feelings of panic that were welling up inside of her. She wasn't sure why they were ordered to stop attacking--did they want the beast alive so that they could study it? Or maybe they wanted to retrieve the things (...humans?) that were responsible for those heat signatures? Whatever the reason was, Eva's main concern was for her friend.

"Reine, stop attacking! Get away from that thing!" A hand reached out to grasp her elbow and try to draw her away.  

[Zoobey]

"You-" It only took several quick moments for the Death Hunter to approach the fallen mass rotting flesh. He walked two more steps, until he was standing in front of Reine-

THWACK.

The handle of Circe hitting Reine's jaw sent the trainee literally flying backwards. Caelius was pissed. "Don't you ever ******** disobey direct orders from me again trainee." He made a motion to follow up on his attack-

- When the creature behind them all but collapsed entirely, leaving only remnants of black melting goo and lumps of flesh behind. The Death Hunter circled the mounds, pulling off his headset to grab and dial his phone. "Tell other hunters stationed here to evacuate immediately." Oddly enough, the there was a disembodied ringing noise nearby. It rang exactly twice-

- before the Death Hunter literally dropped the phone and kicked one of the larger mounds of flesh. The mound was still moving as he used his scythe's blunt edge to dig deeper.

Julie, with her mask on, finally caught up to Caelius, coming to a stop. "No," she moaned, dropping to her knees. "No, no, no, nononono."

And finally, like some demented excavation, the flesh parted to reveal bits of white - a Hunter uniform. With a sickening squelch, the Death Hunter yanked them out from the mass.

The bottom half of their body was missing entirely, spine trailing into nothingness. "It's not here.." It was gurgling blood, face unrecognizable. "Its not here... It's not here..." It struggled to breathe, shuddering and wheezing.

Caelius did not take his eyes off the fallen victim. He watched it attempt to lift one arm, gurgling to speak again, expression unreadable. "That is enough trainees, head back. You are all dismissed."

Julie was quick to jump to those words as well. "Y-you heard him. Go back." She was forcefully picking up and ushering the trainees into the door. The
last thing the trainees saw as they left the scene was Circe humming, the scythe raised in the air-

Hearing the loud thwack, Deryk turned back around to see one of the girls get smacked by Caelius. Tensing up, his attention didn't stay on her for long as his gaze drifted over to the mass that fell onto the ground. He saw the bit of white in there. That.. was a hunter.

The trainee couldn't look away, despite feeling a sense of nausea welling up in him again. Have that hunter's body was gone. And yet, they were still alive! Barely. It couldn't have been long before he had ended up in this sort of state. Even then, that seemed like a horrible way to go.

Hearing Cael's orders, he snapped out of his horrified trance. Slowly nodding, he stared at the fleshy mass again before quickly turning away, wincing as he heard that thud.

He wanted to go home now. Get cleaned up. Maybe sleep.  

[Syusaki]

A small trail of gas still followed him, but blew it away with his arms. “Oh! Thanks.” Wilson hadn’t expected Eva to compliment him, but as he watched the rest of the green gas dissipate and he looked back at the creature, starting to sink beneath the ground, he supposed Gramps warranted a compliment. [I like that girl.] Wilson chuckled. I’m sure you do. He watched her gaze return to Ryan and he kneeled back down next to him.

He heard a loud shout from his headset, the voice undeniably Caelius’. Wilson attempted to cover his ears, but only bonked himself with his weapon. Nice. He de-summoned his weapon and hung the goggles around his neck again. “No problem,” he replied as Eva hurried toward her friend, who was quickly smacked by Caelius. Wilson winced, but he kept his gaze focused on the Death hunter as he whipped out his phone and then there was a ringing sound. His eyes widened. Wait. Nononono—

Wilson couldn’t look away from the flash of white, a Hunter’s jacket. His expression became indescribable as Caelius yanked out a person. The color drained from his face. That was a person, a hunter? Soon as he heard the order he scrambled back to his feet and attempted to help Ryan up. “Ryan, let’s hurry back—patch you right up—“ His gaze flickered back and forth between Caelius and Ryan. The raised scythe hummed and Wilson tried to usher Ryan and himself out as soon as possible, but curiosity got the better of him. He dared to look back one last time and—
