It seemed like all hell had broken loose.
The world seemed to move in slow motion around her. Everybody screaming, panicking, trying to figure out what to do. But somehow in that moment things seemed so...clear to her. Clear, but in chaos. If it was possible for chaos to be crystal clear, that would have been how Shehk described what was happening around her. Crystal Clear Chaos. Everything seemed to distort and twist..or perhaps it was herself flickering in and out of an existence that could try to withstand the presence of the Red that had dragged itself out of the abyss... out of the darkness.
The sun had risen and she herself was a night creature, standing in front of a creature that would just.... what was going through Red's head, she wondered. The pricolici didn't approach her, instead staring at her from where she stood, her attentions transfixed as though if she stared long enough everything would be fixed.... all would be better. But in her heart, Shehk knew that wasn't true.
She was powerless.
"What is it you want me to do?" she asked quietly, as though it could be heard even if only by herself - as if that was all she needed to get an answer from the monstrous entity of FEAR in front of them. "What do you need me to do? What is the answer? Tell me. Tell me. Tell me.." she felt like she was beginning to repeat the same thing over and over again. But she was powerless. Would she have prevented all of this if she'd reached the falling weapon in time? Would this have all been prevented if the students had been strong enough to stand against the hunters?
"I still stand by what I said to you, Red....I don't want to see anybody go down.. I didn't want to see anybody go down.... that included you... how do I fix it? What do I do? I just need a sign..something...anything..." Shehk clutched at her coat, tears streaming down her face.
She was unable to move.
She would not attack.

Patting at her side at the canvas bag she'd carried along this whole way, she opened the flap and retrieved the pumpkin pill from within its tiny compartment. Swallowing it, she began to feel her strength returning. Had he been warning her to take it or-...
West, where ya at?!
She had an idea of what went on but surely the rough boil hadn't gone away that easily. Impossible. He had a pill, didn't he? Why hadn't he taken it? Her brow furrowed as she pawed her way on all fours over to the space where he'd been just seconds ago and glared up at the beast that threatened to smite them all; even the hunters.
If this was trickery, she'd been had alright. The boil finally got her.
A growl escaped her crinkled expression and she took a fighting stance. He was a no good boil... but he'd also been someone she was responsible for all this time. Yew... no good jackin' -
She was ready to join the masses in combat now. Forget the netting and the glaring, the big one was what she wanted to attack next.

Just a few seconds of freedom- and then another net had come right at her, and it was back to square one. Screaming in rage, she clawed at the ********* net again, apparently presenting herself as a sitting duck- someone else attacked her, while she was still in the net, and that sent her toppling over onto the ground, where she lay still, cringing, fighting more tears away.
This wasn't how it was supposed to be. Struggling to sit up, the salamander tried harder at ripping this new net off, but to no avail. All she could do was.. watch.
Watch as Professor Red fell, consumed by the weapon she used.
And then, all of a sudden, the net simply broke off, falling to the floor. Vieve wasted no time; leaping up, she darted behind a rock, surveying the situation, and then a huge, dark monster with glowy blue markings came into view. Instantly she could feel something.. odd- but then the monster growled, and there was the same fire as before- the only fire that could hurt her.
Did that mean...
Was that.. was that the natural form of the weapon Red had used? Vieve pieced together what she knew: a machine that turned halloweeners into weapons, but now that the weapon had.. sucked Professor Red in, had it regained its natural form?
And was it on their side?!

[MARU, THIS IS FOR YOU. YOU BETTER BE HAPPY. OwO]
"W-what-" Lizzy had stared at the exchange between Red and the one named Caelius, her heart going a mile a minute. It was a heated exchange that had ended in blows, but what surprised her was the fact that Red was gone. She was standing there, magnificant and fierce one moment, but the next? She was... Gone.
Just like that.
"PROFESSOR!" By the time she recovered from the shock enough to react, the weapon that had killed the werewolf was gone, kicked into the abyss below where no doubt, it would be lost forever... Why... Why must their professor have to die? Red's lessons had never been her favorite, but she had never really been unkind to any one of them... And she showed up when they were all in trouble, so why...?
Tears welled up in her eyes as she stood up, one hand clutching her arm tightly; she really shouldn't cry, but... Professor...
"Bloody ja-" No sooner were the words out of her mouth that she looked taken aback at what she had just said. Both hands were brought up to her mouth to cover it as tears trickled down her cheeks, her gaze lingering on where their "savior" once was. Now is not the time to think fondly of a boil who only taught her horrible, bad things her mother would surely frown upon! Things like swearing, for example.
Everything else happened so fast that it was like watching two crazy people posting on a forum with important events while living on the other side of the world and stuck in school, being unable to post a response to all the amazing important events that were happening. She wanted to attack the one called 'Caelius' for bringing harm to them and acting like he was doing the world a favor, but following the analogy used, timezone would just not allow it.
Feeling both useless and weak, she lost sight of her friends in all the chaos and fell to her knees... Just as she saw something rise from the abyss - a tower of blue flames that hurt her eyes if she dared to stare too long. As the smoke generated cleared, her eyes widened in shock at the creature that stood before them, the voice that sounded so familiar yet so foreign ringing at the back of her head. The beast... It was...
SUDDENLY GIANT MAN RED CHEST.
She barely had time to stop staring and duck as the creature attacked Caelius by firing its lazors, causing parts of her clothes to get caught in the attack, burning her skin. She bit her lower lip, holding back a cry of pain as she scrambled to her feet, looking to her left and then her right as she wondered what to do next.

She had been doing her best to stay out of the fray, knowing she wouldn't be much use in a fight. She was pretty beat up already, and she wasn't nearly as strong as some of her fellow class mates. It was better to stay on the sidelines then to be a burden. Then it happened. Red died. The gun was kicked over the cliff, and Shehk wasn't able to get it.
Whisper couldn't move. She was paralyzed watching the battle ensue in front of her. Her hero just fell. The one person she held above all others. This was insane. This wasn't right. She couldn't die, that was literally impossible. Right? Right? She managed to clasp her hands over her mouth to stifle the cries and whimpers that began to seep out. Tears were flowing down her face, mixing with the blood that had dried from her nose. It was the color of rust, and it was probably going to stain her already tattered outfit. But in all honesty, that was the least of her worries and her furthest thought. This was pure madness, and in some ways worse then the island.
Just when she thought that this whole thing was a lost cause, something miraculous and yet terrible happened. A huge monster rose from the canyon, and Whisper knew it was Red. IT had to be, she would never abandon them. A twisted smile crossed the hellhound's face, unsure if she should be over joyed or terrified. She saw that Shehk was equally as shocked. She managed to slowly saunter over to the ghoul, appearing to be just as distraught. "I don't know...Shehk how can we...how can we attack her? She's..."
Her words trailed off as she began to shed a few more tears. This was true emotional turmoil. She was at a loss, would she really have to attack Red?
But then she was hit. She felt herself began to fade out, dropping to the ground. As she fell Whisper reached out to Shehk, but murmured Natalia's name.

Nefertari growled and hissed under her net. She did not like being captured. Suddenly the boom happened and the massive creature rose from the depths of the canyon. It was like a dream, both horrible and fabulous. The ghoul looked forward to the day she became a huge fearful monster but that what Red had become was more than what she could imagine being, or what to be for that matter. The net came off but the feline took a hit from the fire. She brushed off her singed fur in time to see her teammate Aksaja take a big hit. She knew she wasn't as strong as him so she needed to help him fight the hunters. She would be strong in her own time and could defend the younger ones later. Quickly she leaped towards him, taking out her last pumpkin pill and throwing it to him. "Aksaja! Catch! It's my last one!" HP: 23 - 5 - 3 = 15 Effect: Helping Aksaja

An ice sword was held in her hand, ready to make a second attack at the hunter. The frost demon however, was stopped from attacking by the series of events that had unfolded. Red. Gone. Absorbed by a weapon. ....One of their own?
There was so much Edel couldn't understand.
The sword slipped from her hand as she stood there in a daze, watching the others attack the lead hunter. What should she do – no, what could she do? The frost demon had turned her attention away from Gale in favour of launching an assault on Caelius but then the ground shook. A pillar of blue flame extended into the sky and for a moment, Edel was blinded by the sight of its radiant glow. Darkness faded and light began to seep into the canyon. The sun had risen.
But.
Obscuring it was a creature the ghoul couldn't recognise, a monstrosity even for Halloween's standards. Was that....Professor Red? Edel stumbled back a few steps in awe and shock, trembling involuntarily. The attack from Red came almost a little too quickly and the ghoul was scorched from the flame. A sickening feeling filled the atmosphere, everyone, not just the Halloweeners, could sense that there was something off.
A short distance away Edel could see Lattice crouched and overwhelmed. The hunters had all redirected their focus towards Red, and the frost demon took the chance to run to her side.
“Lattice, Lattice, are you alright?”

So much had gone on…
Hel could only watch helplessly as Red tried to battle the lead Hunter, and only to end up being…absorbed by the weapon she held after a gruesome attempt to separate herself from it. She was then kicked over the edge, and with her disappeared into the canyon, the reaper felt their morale go along with the weapon. She may have not known Professor Red personally…but…she was still one of them, their lead and now she was gone…
She watched as her fellow students, impassioned by the need for revenge, started to wail on the lead Hunter, and seemed to doing rather well…until the entire field started to tremble. Hel’s arm came up to shield her eyes from the appearance of the sun, though it lowered as something seemed to block out the sky. Her arm lowered and she couldn’t only stare up in pure awe. This creature…the ghoul was pulled from her stupor as the creature attacked, ending up damaging Hunters and Halloweeners alike. Hel let out a hiss of pain as she staggered, taking a large brunt of the attack, and on top of that, another attack that seemed to affect everyone.
Not good.
The reaper kept her ground as the world around her seemed to reel…this was just like that Boo battle back in the mirror maze…except much, much worse. In answer to Xiu’s question? Not okay…far from it…and how was Mot fairing? She tried looking around to see.

Aksaja bit back a soft cry as shapes came at him out of seemingly nowhere, fighting to stay in the air now whilst avoiding things he couldn't be sure were real or not. It was like the island with the damn fog all over again . . .
And then a voice called his name, and he snapped his head around just in time to see a Pumpkin Pill thrown to him by Nefertari. Quickly the lightning dragon reached out and grabbed it, then tossed the other winged student a quick grin. "Thanks!" Without wasting any time, he popped the pill into his mouth. Instantly, he felt about a hundred times better, definitely able to finish this fight . . . he wasn't letting anything stop him.(( HP: Back to 40 yea baby! ))

If he was far enough away to avoid Caelius' shockwave, he was definitely far enough away to miss the massive spurt of flame. He was lucky enough to get a good view of all of it, watching as nets disintegrated and students and hunters alike were set aflame. A few of the Halloween students hit the ground, dissipating into particles, but so far most of the hunters were holding their ground rather well.
When the beast roared he felt himself weaken slightly and it hit him like a ton of of bricks. He wobbled on his feet but regained composure after a minute. Normally after a charged attack Mina would be happily purring but she whined slightly.
I don't feel ssssso good. Hold on for me? We need to bring this thing down!

Bix tried his best to ignore the students. They too seemed to be focused on the beast with only a few smaller squabbles here and there. It was hard to fight one another when a monster seemed more than willing to roast all of them alive.
Bix set himself and did his best to aim but the monster was weaving back and forth, tossing it's head in fury, and when he did manage to let off a shot it zoomed past it's maw into the abyss.

Oh this was bad.
The engraver was in bad shape by the time she had gotten to her. Edel erected a small ice barrier around the ghoul in anticipation of another attack. Lattice..... may not last another attack in this condition. She had no pumpkin pill for her.
The bell. The bell.
Edel scrambled around her pockets to uncover the silver bell she had used before. She rang it, but nothing was happening. It didn't take her FEAR, it was not healing. All there was was a tiny silver ornament ringing amidst the chaos, but nothing else.
Jack. Lattice had given her the pill and she had used it. This was divine mockery.
“Hang in there alright?”
Edel started to look around the battlefield for Vieve – she had a pill hadn't she? The frost demon's heart sank when she laid her eyes on the Salamander – she too was worse for wear.
Hell, she'd just stay here and defend Lattice then. There was nothing else she could do.

The madness, the Insanity that seemed to plague their Gym Professor did not seem like it could be reasoned with. Perhaps... perhaps their only option was to snap Red out of it. Forcibly. Except that wasn't what Tess was good at. It wasn't what she was comfortable doing. She just... she just wanted to be with people she cared about.
Maritess' leather wings desperately flapped to get her airborne, her first instinct to look for her friends. "Lizzy? Legs?" she called out, unsure if she could be heard. Legs, on the other hand... foot... er... whatever. Once her upper half and herself had been freed from their netted confines, Legs gave Levi a quick bob from her knees before running up to Red's own pair of legs. Well, one foot in particular. As the sentient lower half promptly gave a kick, Legs wished, for the nth time since the field trip began, that she was wearing her stilettos.

Amrita's panicked gaze tore from Johan to see Shehk kneeling in the distance. She recognized that stance, the way she curled in on herself; it was something she had done often on this trip, and if her experience here had taught her anything, it was that it wasn't good. At all. The blue flames were still lingering everywhere, and the Vetala took in a deep, shuddering breath. " Johan...I'm so sorry, I just...I'll be right back, I promise!" Her unbroken arm gently brushed against his as she turned from him again, this time moving towards the Pricolici and the ghoul who had come to join her. She heard what the other one had to say and did piece together what was happening, but...the other ghoul did not look good. At all. Biting down on her bottom lip, Amrita considered her options, and after a grueling minute or two of hard thought, went to Shehk first. "S-shehk, scarelin'--" She murmured softly, trying to sound affectionate. The Pricolici would find the lesser of two wounded hands on her shoulder, followed by an equally awkward and somewhat bloody hug. Amrita was no stranger to this body language; did it always hurt this badly to see it in someone else...? "It...It hurts. It really does, but...Red was our Gym teacher. Our Battle instructor...s-sitting here, it...it goes against everything she's ever taught us." The gravity of the situation was hitting her now, and her voice strained with emotion instead of pain. She didn't have many one-on-one interactions with the Professor, but she had been in her detentions, or in the field trips where she showed her face. "S-so...you can't just sit here, Shehk, y-you...you've got to move, c'mon." Her words were accompanied by a gentle tug, trying to give the ghoul a reason to move. "Please...? At least...at least move enough to save your friend here." Through words she tried to force her comrade to acknowledge the incredibly wounded Whisper, to give her something to do instead of sitting there. It had been done to her before, it was a good tactic to try and pass on, or so she hoped. "And...if it still hurts too much, take it out on the jackin' slime balls that are responsible." Was that a bitter growl in her voice? Yes, yes it was. Her attention moved to look at a couple of the white coats nearby, her gaze filled with a brief, absolutely seething hate. Yes, all this was their fault; they attacked for no reason, and in her mind it was all their Leader's fault this happened.
