Arc went into his study and fell on the couch. 'Idiot.'

Jake returned to his old room, mainly to just be alone. Something suddenly bothered him and he wanted to clear things up. One of those bothersome thoughts had something to do with Arc.

School felt like a drag and work was just too easy for Arc. He started to lock the door to his room at night so his wolf form wouldn't have second thoughts about going into Jake's room. The dreams were never there, he had completely suppressed them.
In his spare time, he would date the female. The nagging sensation Jake scratching his sutures vanished when the boy started using the cool then gel wrap's. One problem out of his way.

For some reason, during the nights, Jake was incredibly lonely. Sure, he had wanted to get away from Arc, but he never thought he would be feeling this way. Once more, he was alone in a world he had no place to be in.

Because of his tall stature, Arc sometimes forgot to dunk at low doorways. The female started to say something as Arc turned to face forward and smacked his forehead on the wood frame. 'That hurt.' The female was all over him and a waitress escorted them to a back corner.

It was one of those days when Jake would be asked to go on an errand and buy some groceries, though he worried that he wouldn't be able to carry everything. He sighed and was just about to leave the store with a huge bag of paid-for stuff before he felt a sudden tug on his wings.
It had been a gentle tug, so it wasn't painful, but it prompted him to turn and look at whoever had pulled his wings.
There, with one hand still holing a wing, was a young, blonde-haired man just a little older than Jake. "Are these... real?" the stranger asked more to himself than to the servant.

The hit on Arc's forehead began to throb even with ice on it. He couldn't leave his date only if what for a real emergency. So he called the house and told a maid to go search for Jake. The nagging feeling was already mixing with the headache that came from his swollen forehead.

As much as Jake wanted to tell the stranger to leave him be, he didn't have the heart to, so he might as well start up a conversation. "They feel real to me," was all he said, and the person let go.
"Heh, sorry about that. I'm Gary, by the way. I just haven't seen a real angel before," the stranger explained, rubbing the back of his head, embarrassed. "What are you doing out on your own anyway?"
"I'm Jake, and I'm just here getting some groceries. Um... I should go now." The servant was in a hurry to leave, quickly being uncomfortable with staying.
"You'll break your tiny back if you walk home with that. I'll give you a ride, OK?"
Jake reluctantly had to accept, as he didn't want the person to feel bad or anything. But he couldn't help worrying about how Arc would react if he happened to see the servant return to the mansion in a car rather than on foot.
Before the car left the parking lot, Jake had spotted one of the maids at the supermarket, apparently looking for him. He would have called to her, but it was too late by the time he could have rolled down the window.

Despite a couple of pain killers and the ice pack, his forehead throbbed even more and the nagging feeling grew bigger. 'Damn.' He didn't look good at all and the female was deciding to cut their date short.

Soon, Jake was back at the mansion, and Gary was carrying in the groceries. The man had insisted it, claiming that the bag was too heavy for Jake, and it nearly was. Once everything was inside, Gary said a quick "See you at school!" to Jake before leaving. Apparently they weren't complete strangers.
The servant noticed that the maids were whispering about Gary, some of suspicion and some of a slight admiration. Jake then worried that Arc would find out, but shrugged it off. The man would probably think nothing of it.

Arc hit his limit and went head to table. There really wasn't anymore he could take and the female said that they could finish up the date on another day and that she'd see him back home. Arc felt like he had been hit with 10 18 Wheeler's, and a couple of wrecking balls.

Soon after Gary had left, Jake helped the maids store and prepare the groceries. None of them asked him about his acquaintance, which unnerved the servant since he feared they had something they wanted to say.

Arc trudged upstairs, he was a wreck and collapsed on his bed, rolling onto his side.

Having heard the maids whisper something about Arc not feeling very well, Jake hurried to the man's room without thinking. A part of him, one that had been buried for a long time, filled him with worry for his "big brother."

There was nothing to ease the pain in his forehead besides sleep and it was giving him a major migraine and headache rolled into one.
