Zue happened to glance over his fluffy shoulder; Gemini Beta had looked at him and....he could see her mouth moving, but all he could hear was eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.

Which prompted the question;

"WHAT?"

Did the cat say something? Ricky wasn't sure - he was completely deafened. He shouted back, unsure if he was being spoken to.

"WHAT?"

Oh good, Zue had heard her! She could tell, because he was looking at her extra pissed off-like, which meant he was clearly addressing her. That extra little bit of snide-ness, that was all love. However, although she could definitely tell he was screaming at her (god, was he still hung up on the booze?) she couldn't hear a blasted thing, completely deaf from the whale's barage.

"WHAT DID YOU SAY?! I CAN'T HEAR YOU, THE ROAD IS RINGING!"

Virgo was embarrassed.

So, so embarrassed.

She edged closer to the safe zone and then realized she had no way to wave to her compatriots. She also realized she did not have any way to pull them up without leaving the Princess to her own devices.

This presented a puzzle. A really, really big puzzle. Abandoning the Princess was anathema. Abandoning her teammates was just as big a taboo. She decided, in the end, Chronos was more important, and after a moment of puzzling she kind of... wiggled a leg. "We're fine," she yelled.

Could they even hear her?

Joshua thought that he must have drunk some really food beer. As one of the space-population put it, it was magical beer. The space thing and then the space guards .. and now a space version of monstro the whale.

His head was killing him. Joshua had flipped a little awkwardly to the side, thrown in the air and attempting some sort of flip that led him away from deafening his ears. But he landed on his side, a dull blow that made the impacted side hurt.

"Monstrole whale. First round? Probably victory."

Joshua wasnt sure a joshua vs. whale countdown when he wasn't even a hundredth of the whale's size.

"STOP YELLING AND GRAP MY HANDS, GOD DAMN."

Maybe Joshua should take his own advice, through... now both booze-boy and ginger-lady were down. While ginger-lady had the best shot of getting him out of here, she was also probably more likely to get herself out, drunk or not.

Crap.

s**t was seriously getting out of hand. Anders should be prepared for these kinds of situations, he had LARPed enough to be prepared for anything that was thrown at him. But suddenly when action got going, Anders was reeling in an attempt to move. If it wasn't for Hawke's hand reaching out to grab his arm, he may not have moved out of the way of the sonic blast at all.

But he was still left with one bitching headache. "Can we take the voice level just one down?" he asked Hawke, long before he had registered that she had mentioned something about a plan. A plan would be useful. The spirits of the Space-Fade weren't doing much that was terribly helpful, besides being dressed as strangely as Hawke and Anders were so they stood out just a little less painfully. "I swear I didn't do it this time. I will take the fall for the whole blowing up the chantry thing.

I am not taking the fall for a goddamn whale spirit."

All Wallace wanted in life was to succeed at an area of his choice and live happily ever after. To him, that was a reasonable goal. It involved lots of hard work and trial and error, and he was okay with that. It did not involve getting kidnapped by crazily-dressed people to an even crazier place, or having to micromanage his so-called childhood friend before she got them all killed. And it definitely did not involve whales. Giant space whales.

Wallace did not think. He did not plan. He just hit the deck, put his hands over his head, and waited for it to all be over, one way or another.

Fritz barely even had time to say "Hey Josh, what -" before the entire world seemed to erupt, the place trembling so violently that Fritz staggered and fell, landing with a not-so-pleasant crash on the floor. He attempted to get to his feet, but it wasn't working -

- and then, out of nowhere, there it was. Something so huge and so massive that for a few seconds Fritz just stared stupidly over at it.

And it was coming straight towards them.

He didn't think - he just leapt to the side - and just in time.

An earsplitting shriek sliced through the air like a knife, followed by an enormous, ground shaking explosion, and Fritz let out a yell of pain, his hands moving to grip the side of his head, on his knees on the ground. His entire head felt as if it were exploding from the inside out, a persistent buzzing noise ringing in his ears.

Eyes watering, he looked up, wiping dust and sweat from his face. There was a massive hole in the rainbow road - right where he had been standing just a few seconds earlier. Many of the people were off to the side, but there were a few dozen that were hanging off of the side, dangling into the hole.

"Oh, s**t - "

He scrabbled towards the hole.

[ splitting headache, but missed the hole ]

Oh, another someone in his line of vision, saying something to him. Between Ricky and Gemini Beta, there was an aweful lot of eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee going on, and if it weren't for the whole clinging for his life thing, he might have been a lot more understanding. Still, he did try to read her lips whenever he could, which...didn't help.

"WHAT---DON'T SING, GET OUT OF THE GOD DAMNED HOLE YOU S---"

Luckily, he slipped a bit and that shut him up pretty fast.

The pain inside his head was beginning to ebb away, allowing Felix to crack open an eye and then opening the other. He turned around as he heard Layton’s voice. “I’ll manage,” Felix reassured her, noticing that she too was affected by the whale’s scream. Tentatively, he reached out and awkwardly patted her on the head. “It’s fine, the pain will subside eventua—“

Cue the scream fest. Suddenly, his headache returned and his mouth twitched.

“AGH. SHUT UP! NOW MY HEADACHE’S BACK, GODDAMN…”

There was so much going on that really Callum didn’t know what to think. Surprise, surprised it was confirmed that they were indeed not dead but in space. However, Callum seemed by right about the impending doom as the rainbow road shook ,Layton knocked himself and Felix over, and a giant space whale screamed at everyone.

With slight trepidation, Callum took Felix’s hand and pulled away. As soon he moved away from the rainbow road’s hole, Callum scrambled to get to his feet. He wiped his hands on his slacks, rubbing fiercely to get whatever invisible dirt might be on it. Unlike several of the people around him, including Layton and Felix, the whale’s piercing cry wasn’t so bad. Actually, it reminded him of his mother a little bit. Oh the whole, terrifying, but not worth cringing over.

Once he was finished cleaning his hands, Callum bent over his sister. “Stand up. Come on, you can’t lay there all day if this road is going to fall to pieces from a space whale.” Those were his outside words. Inside his head was more like ‘OHMYGOD. A WHALEISGOINGTOKILLME. IMGOINGTODIEINSPACE. FROMAWHALE.’ A hand was extended to her, and Callum looked like he was ready to bolt.

"Ow! My ******** nose!"

Mal was nothing if not a creature of eloquence, which is why when she finally managed to sit up, clutching her face, she spouted off a long list of the most colorful and vivid swear words she could conjure. One of them had to do with a fist and a goat, and it would have impressed those around her if not for the space whale baring down on them.

"Shi-" Mal didn't have the time to be more creative, or to even finish the word. She barely had time to scramble out of the way of the massive sound wave, a single step separating her from solid ground and the void of space. The splintering of the rainbow sent her stumbling forward, her face becoming reacquainted with the smooth, hard surface.

"Mother of ********!" she shouted, her strained voice drowned out by the ringing in her ears that threatened to split her head wide open. Hot trickles of blood rolled over her lips and chin, her face quickly becoming less and less pretty enough to post on the Internet.

"WH-- OH HEY, THANKS!"

Gemini Beta grinned a bit as she noticed Joshua's hand reaching down towards her, letting go of her hand-hold with one hand to grab his, already starting to climb up. But first, she had to make sure Zue got up as well. Before she did anything, the female Gemini glanced over her shoulder at the purple cat, noticing just in time that he had started to slip from where he was. Her immediate response, of course, was to reach over and grab onto him by the scruff of his neck, (oh, she'd get a reaming out later for THAT one,) pulling him closer to her body as she used Joshua's helping hand to get them out.

"SUICIDE IS NOT THE ANSWER ZUE, I DON'T CARE HOW MUCH YOU HATE ME."
