How does one go about being polyamorous?

To first make an apple pie from scratch, you must create the universe... wait no... wrong instructions. blaugh

I don't think one can "turn" poly like one flips a light bulb on and off. For me it was a long road of self introspection, questioning social norms, and then shedding those social norms you find hindering.

The basic of it for me is to be poly you need to understand that people have the compacity to love more than one person, and that those loves do not compete for one another - or in other words love is not a limited resource and therefore you should not base who and how you love on a scarcity model. If you can switch into that paradigm, poly just kinda.. flows. There are scarcity models in poly, mainly time and physical energy. There are only 24 hours in a day, and I only have so much energy after work.

Chryos' girlfriend mentioned it was her birthday and that her parents weren't celebrating. Chryos and I made an impromptu birthday candle search, and served her up with the last piece of cake we had.

I was c**t blocked by a spider. So not cool.

That morning that Chryos had woken me up and I couldn't go back to sleep.

I was nursing my cup of tea and cuddling with Annette, things got hotter, then I looked up and there was a house spider right behind Annette's head on the couch. I kicked into "must protect love one mode" and caught the spider and released it out by the back tree. Needless to say mood was pretty much ruined.

Now if I can harness the spider dropping fear of "most protect love one" mode and use it when I encounter a spider.... I might have something. 3nodding
