The black-robed figure turned and looked back at the crater, then sighed and shook his head. "It's going to take decades to get that thing rebuilt," he groaned.
He turned his head, looking at something. Turning, he floated toward the Pentagon. To those viewing him from the battle station, it would look like he was peering right at them, drawing closer and closer. The black-robed figure vanished in a haze of ashes, appearing before the viewing screen inside the battle station. He pulled back his hood, revealing himself to be none other than Darshendros himself - or his avatar, at least.
"Good evening, General Bakkar. I trust you've enjoyed the show thus far."

Random Stranger #36 Eri would nimbly dodge the doctor. Ho-yeah. She was about to turn around and kick him in the head, but then she hears that most uncool of cool sounds. " Beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee" It echo'd, like hell in her head. She refused. Nay, she FORBID it to happen. Slamming Evan away, She'd approach the child, laying her hands on her somewhat quietly, and ominously. They didn't sit, as they often did in the movies, with the son of god bringing back blah blah blah... No, she roved, almost in a petting fashion, searching... One hand would cradle the girl's cerebellum, and the other rested on chest, forming a fist... And then she would pull something that would make Evan freak. A sort of "Reverse" One-inch punch. First her fist tightened, digging talons to Bleed her palm, almost mangling herself, and then she'd uncurl, align her bleeding talons, and force them down, into the girl's torso. Her body would enter a different place, a different -state-. She alighted, Every feather gaining a milky-red glow, as her eyes burned like suns, Blood pooling around that chest as she seemed to experience the girl's death.... Below, her fingers tickled and coaxed the heart..... Seeing as Ymir was still in her, the girl still had potential for life. A darkness would form in the girls chest, grasping Eri's hand. It was as if Ymir wanted the girl to die, she had rejected the demon, and now it wanted her dead, a last act of spite against Hugin. Darkness wrapped Eri's chest, if it persisited for longer than a few seconds, her heart would be squeezed flat, destroyed. But first, a question. Do you regard yourself worthy of my power?

Eri ascended beyond mortality, at this point. Her body was burning, rebirthing. She was the peak of life, past the door of Death. Ymir, for what he was, god or parasite, would find nothing to squeeze, For she'd already accepted Death, She'd accepted Melissa's. Her hand drew still, On that heart, palm above it, Blood and the sheer healing force that drove through the phoenix through every scrape and cut was shared.. Ymir might encompass her body, but he'd find no hold. Eri, for the most part, was beyond foolish pranks and jokes.
"C'mon, Kiddo... I got a nice chap here who's gone through hell and highwater for you, don't stand him up..." Her voice was a whispery wind, there, but not quite.

The moniter started working again, there was a gasp, a breath of life, and she sat up, sweating, a peircing scream echoed through the room. Ymir was still inside of her, and his power was reborn as well. She thought she had ended the struggle, thought she had taken him down with her, and now it was begining all over again. She burst into tears, clenching her teeth. She only looked forward, her bed facing the side wall, didn't see anything except for her bed, and the strange creature that she thought was an illusion of Ymir.

Evan grimaced and said, "Eri, stand back..."
Evan quickly pulled up Melissa's shirt until her stomach was showing, then placed the first two fingers of his right hand upon the skin. He started tracing runes. Five of them. One for each element that the current Ymir was composed of. Earth, Wind, Fire, Water, and Shadow. Except he replaced Shadow with something greater- something that the shadow was only a part of.
The rune of the Void. His element.
He added one more... the rune of Eternity. Odin's rune. The lynch pin to the entire spell. The five smaller runes were on the outside, spaced apart in a circle, while the sixth one was in the center, much larger.
With that, he pressed both palms on the spell.
"It's not over yet, I'm afraid."
They lit like lights on a christmas tree. Then got brighter. And brighter...
And then it began.
Seal of Eternity, bind this force to thy sacred writing. Sealed for eternity, lest the caster release the force within. Begone demon, and never show thyself to me again. By the edict of my lord Odin the All-Father, I banish thee!
Evan's eyes turned red. Hugin was awake.
"Begone, fool!"

"This is not............"
Silence.
Melissa Faulkner sighed, falling into Evan's arms, sobbing hystericaly. She couldn't even manage any words, all the sudden the pain was gone and she just let go. She just wanted to let go and cry her eyes out, and she wanted to get out of here, to be any place else in the world.

Collapsed, naked and steaming against the wall beside the bed. Mmm. That felt good. Like a really hot shower. But like a really hot shower, once you step out....
She shivered, and clamped up, hiding herself smoothly with arms and knees. She'd lay like that, like some fresh newborn, helpless and slightly wet.

Darshendros the Eternal "Good evening, General Bakkar. I trust you've enjoyed the show thus far." Everyone in the control room was stunned, the optimistic girl screamed out loud, hiding behind the general, whom she had developed somewhat of a crush on through this whole affair. "Undead Freakistan I presume," said the general, who was a preist of the Holy Order and could defend himself, though he'd find his spiritual powers gone, as, unlike the preacher, his powers were all gifts of Ymir. "I thought we just kicked your a**, but when your boss makes a deal with the devil, what can you expect. You're too late though."

Hugin simply held on. His eyes were a deep crimson still, simply observing the situation around him. His eyes regarded Eri with a cold, dispassionate glare. She may be a Phoenix, but she wasn't immune to someone staring at her as if she were transparent.
Then he nodded approvingly.
"You have my thanks, phoenix. I will regard you kindly when next we meet, if nothing else. Shame that I cannot impart the favor of the Gods on you, now that they are dead and gone. Evan needs this girl... though it is not for manipulation or malice. She keeps him in check, so to speak."
Then he scoffed. "I have no time for these trifles, however. The battle is almost at an end, and if we do not depart we shall fall as well."
He then looked towards his team and said, "All units, prepare to withdraw! This battle is ours. Retrieve the phoenix- you have all of five seconds to do so."
With that, he began tracing a rune on the ground, a bindrune that would transmit the entire team back to whence they started- or at least to the last point of memory. The point of memory being an area where one of Hugin's feathers was located. And this point of entry happened to be the Raven Industries headquarters in Durem.
Frankly, she still needed a bit of a medical checkup.

"Yes, indeed you did, at a rather heavy cost, I might add," Darsh replied. "I also know that Edward Yaits is dead. Let me ask you this. What price are you willing to pay to end it all now? A million souls? How about just one?" A grin curved Darsh's thin lips. "Forgive me. Allow me to be more specific. I want the corpse of Edward Yaits."

Eri was pretty much dead to the world. She was sleeping, as all newborns should, to build strength. But she slept for a different reason as well, to rebuild herself, mentally, emotionally... Her soul assessed with her mind, and they decided for the new body. If things were fine, she'd be the same child... But under circumstances of a different nature, she might develop a completely different memory, an entirely different personality. They found the girl fitting, and thus things remained as they should, and would. Eri would remember the whole deal with the building, and Evan, and the kid.

And with that, and all people gathered, Hugin stomped on the rune. It activated, it glowed, and it the light shining forth from it seemed to expand until the circle was big enough to fit six at a time. They had ten seconds to head into the light and be instantly shipped towards the top floor of RI tower, or Evan had to make another one.
And these took a bit of energy out of him- he was already low as it was.
"MOVE!"
They did- Bravo team stepping in first. They vanished entirely once the circle of light was filled. With that, Alpha followed, Eri and Melissa in tow. That said, the room was deathly still once more.
Ah, but then again the doctor was gone as well. It was decided that he would most certainly be made to pay for this after all...

There was a step from behind, the preacher had entered the room stealthily. "There is no power in it," said the preacher, "Ymir has passed from this world, gone, you can't get him back." "The corpse of Edward Yaits holds no power, if you animated it, you may get the soul of the man whom once possesed it, but I doubt even that, he has passed on to a better place. If you want it so badly, take it, if that will end the bloodshed."Bakkar nodded, "It's yours, I don't want to see anyone else die. I have enough blood on my conscience"
