Valthier had caught the stumbling timid girl in his arms and was delightedly fondling her soft hair. he made it a point to betray his full predatory nature in his expression, and enjoyed the fright on mouse's face.
but at Scarlet's impatient stomp, he was snapped out of his distraction. Mouse was no less frightened of Scarlet than of Val, but still she seemed uncomfortable even as she clung to him.
"I don't know if that's such a good idea... a Bodyguard is still very important, no matter how capable you are." the Elf suggested. realy though, he was wishing her agent would show up now too. he was ready to take off.

((Sorry! I've had a lot of s**t to do lately, including getting two wisdom teeth out. Me+percocet=sleep))
(Then): Alfons gave a slight bow at Val's departure. Now to find Dmitri.
(Now): "Sorry I'm late. Got lost on the way here."
"I told you ve should not have followed him! He does not now up from down!"
"Will you shut it? It was hard enough finding you in the first place." Alfons paused. "Why I haven't seen an Asian dragon in ages. Schön, einfach schön."

Valtheir was surprised. it was Goldschmit once again!
"ah! Alfons! what a surprising coincidence, I didn't not expect you to be joining us onour embarkment... Scarlet, you didn't tell me he was coming?" he teased, flashing his smile her way. he hoped the man wouldn't have to know too much. after all, he wasn't sure what he would tell to who about him. that botheed the Undead Elf.
"and who is your friend here?" he asked, turning to Dmitri. "parenʹ telohranitelʹ ? sledovatelʹ ?" ((a fellow Bodyguard? an Investigator?))
Val's Cyrilic wasn't flawless, he still had obvious traces of local accent. but his pronunciation was sound and clear, and he had the grammer correct.

"Ty govorishʹ Russkhi khorosho, tovarishch, no mozhet ispolʹzovatʹneskolʹko uluchsheniĭ.* I am Dmitri Alkaev Zolnerovich, Soldier for Hire. Former Spetsnaz." Dmitri stood proudly. "You defected before you graduated their training, remember?" Alfons burst his bubble. "Vhy do you alvays have to remind me?" "Because it bothers you. Anyway," Alfons turned to Val, "I assumed I was expected to, so here I am." He looked back towards the dragons. "Besides, there's a small system of caverns there where an old friend of mine lives. I think I might visit him."
*You speak Russian well, comrade, but could use some improvement.

"Good, you made it," Scarlet sighed. "All of you. Alfons is going to be one of my generals, Val, dearest. And his little pet, well, let's just say I'm going to be teaching him some manners. No time for pleasantries, we must be off and away. You can socialize later--or find your own way to Japan."
With that, she boarded the strange coach. The dragons started shuffling their feet, anxious to be off for the long flight. The goblin-ish workers loaded the cooler and a few other supplies and opened the main door to the stables.

"Of course of course. Come Dmitri. I won't send for you if you miss this flight," Alfons said as he boarded. Dmitri smirked at Twi and followed Alfons.
Ciro boarded soon after and sat beside Scarlet. He glanced near the back, where Alfons was at a window seat, and Dmitri was running his mouth in Russian.

Scarlet wrapped her arm around Ciro's arm. "I missed you," she murmured softly, her cool breath brushing by his ear. Then she pulled out a dark bottle of liqueur. "Care to share? It's a long flight...and we'll all be in close quarters...and I get bored quickly without something peaking my interest..."

Ciro looked at Scarlet, to the drink, back to Scarlet, and smiled. "I didn't mean to take so long. I'd love to share." He knew this would be a good trip.
At the back of the coach, Dmitri had finally stopped speaking, or so it seemed. He started up not but a minute later. "Eh, boss... who vas ze 'old friend' you mentioned a few minutes ago?" "An old Zen monk. My father knew him... and if I recall correctly he's taking care of something of his that I might find useful in the future." "Vhat is it?" "I'll show you later."
(Elsewhere, in an airport terminal, a Monk waits in line.) "AAACCHHOOOOOO!" *Sniff* "I hope I'm not getting a cold. It'd ruin my pilgrimage."

Scarlet took the bottle and also took a drink. "Follow your nose, next time," she suggested. "You should be able to find my most recent trail with that."
She snuggled closer and traced his jaw, then his throat, then slipped her fingers under his collar.
"You are so restrained," she observed as she undid his collar. "You should let loose a little more. You still hold yourself to your human limitations, but you are not human anymore, darling. Val, maybe you can assist me--my precious body guard hasn't gotten into the whole vampire thing yet."

he smirked, and bared his fangs, setting mouse out of his lap where he was playing with her hair.
"heh. my pleasure."
he rose from his seat and nestled on the opposite side of Ciro from Scarlet on their bench. his hands went to the bodyguard's head, cradling his jaw in the most frightenly sensual way possible, as he gazed and smirked predatorilly at the man. but he chuckled and turned Ciro's head to face Scarlet.
"get in the mood dear boy, before I have to coax it out of you in a way that might confuse such a newly-turned childe as you... he purred in Ciro's ear.

"You are as swift as the wind in the night, lover," Scarlet murmured, her voice husky and seductive. "You are as cold as sleet in a storm. Your power is just beginning to bud, and yet you are far greater than any mortal--even that Spetsnaz. You have asked for nothing--but if there is something you desire, it is yours for the taking. Do not restrain your desires, love. Desire is what defines the Vampire."

"Unrestrained desires... intoxicating power...." Ciro mumbled. His eyes widened a bit, and he gained a devilish smirk. "I spent most of my life as stoic as possible, never letting my emotions or desires rise to the surface." Ciro paused, and felt a surge of power in his system. "Now, though not technically living, I feel more alive than ever. I'll unleash my desire, realize my full power, and revel in it!"*short laugh* He was now in a full grin. "If you wish for power you should see what's at the monk's place." Alfons stood and turned to face Ciro. "A mystical artifact that amplifies one's ki." He had a scowl on his face. "Although... I doubt you would be able to use it...." He adjusted his gloves and sat back down. "Boss, you creep me out sometimes." Dmitri raised an eyebrow.
"He's not the only power hungry one."
Ciro shrugged. "Meh. Scarlet, how about a glass of that liqueur?"

"Glasses are for prudes, darling," Scarlet purred as she passed him the bottle again. She liked the small twinkle in his eyes. "Alfons, keep your mystic to yourself. My dear young bloodsucker here doesn't need his powers augmented just yet. So, sweet one," she turned back to Ciro. "What is your first desire, beyond this next drink?"

at mention of this monk, Valthier was intrigued. he was alsomore than a little worried; he had a feeling that Alfons had plans for this artifact.
dare he inquire? doing so might raise suspicion. however, this human was a Goldschmit, and that meant he was most likely savvy enough to realize Val wasn't ignorant. and information was surely valuable.
recpulling mouse into his lap, fingers drumming playfully on her shoulder, the Elf asked "what is this Artifact, Alfons? and who else might be after it?"
there was a definite purr in his voice; one which Scarlet would know all too well meant that Val saw this as a game of strategy. already he was calculating the playing pieces.

Ciro paused for a brief moment. "My desire?" He smirked. "To see our new empire encompass the world."
Alfons's face was stoic; his eyes closed. "An azure jewel. Legend tells of a drought that was ended when a small boy mysteriously appeared. He was an incarnation of Uhou Douji, the Shinto God of Rain. Before he left, he gave a perfect sphere of azurite to the local temple, and told the caretakers there that it will prevent another drought." Alfons stopped for a second, as if lost in nostalgia. "My father told me that story so many times.... Anyway, the jewel disappeared after a few centuries passed, never to be seen again." Dmitri was looking very interested. "Is zat all? Vhat happens next?" Alfons ignored him, but continued, "Or so it seemed. My father happened to stumble upon the abandoned temple that contained this jewel. He gave it to a monk he knew for safe keeping." He opened his eyes. "The Amerandoukou contains the power of the gods, and I will take it off the old monk's hands soon. The only other person who might be seeking it is my brother."
((Note: the only part of this myth I didn't make up is the existence of the Uhou Douji [雨宝童子], or Divine Rain-making Boy. I came up with the Amerandoukou [雨藍銅鉱]))
