Lachesis turned her head towards the girl in the pink dress. It was hard to tell what kind of expression she was giving the girl thanks to the roughened-up black veil covering the top half of her face, but frown on her dark lips should have made her feelings quite clear.
After a moment though, the woman sighed and went about shifting through the ash for something else. "My apologies then. Getting attacked is not something that happens to us very often. Let alone getting blown up." she grumbled.

Clotho regarded others with a similar [removed](again, what could be seen of her face), then turned towards Edel. "Any idea why she was taken? It is....rather concerning since she is the one that can control one's death."

"I would assume it's because she tricked her way into having a child." Lachesis replied, pulling out something shiny from the rubble. "THAT....isn't something that should happen."

Lachisis glanced over at him, lightly tapping a finger on her spindle. The web of glowing threads sipped back towards her and carefully wrapped around both of her signature tools. "Atropos tricked a mortal into mating with her. We're supposed to be far to busy with our 'jobs' to indulge in such acts, but she has been wanting a child for decades now. I'm still not entirely convinced of her reasons for wanting one. Anyway....I had just gotten done beginning the thread for the child, getting it started so that I could work out the details of DNA later...when that creature broke down the door. It was only interested in taking her. So unless it's master wants her for her abilities, I assume it's about the child she now carries."


"As for that thing..." Edel said, looking back at him. "I believe it's a "Black Lantern". In one of the universes bound to this one, they are the living dead, given life and power by a being that is pretty much the ruler of the underworld. He's used them to try to take over the world and everything else before. He could be trying to do so again." she said, then huffed. "Which is perfect timing....considering a great deal of our 'soldiers' are missing."


"The man was a god of destruction for another far off planet. He had been killed by the Spectre months ago." Clotho added. "Suppose he was a perfect soldier to pick."

Edel frowned. "She's.....well....a goddess of sorts. She's from the same planet that the former god of destruction was from. She's the goddess of chaos for her world. To be honest, I've never heard of a reaction like that come from her before. I know of a few beings from her planet that would know more about her, as well as the new Black Lantern. They could probably deal with her better if she does....do something more than just watch things fall apart here."

Edel smiled sympathetically at him. "I wish you could have arrived at a more convenient point in time. I'll try to help you as much as I can so that you're better prepared." she said.

"In the meantime, I'd be happy to accommodate you with anything you'd like, if you'd enjoy taking a brief break from studying while I gather up some of spells you'd be able to use." Edel said, trying to keep things moving. She glanced over at the two Fates. "The offer extends to you as well, if you are still willing to stay here."

"No. I think it would be better if we both went home." Lachesis replied, still frowning.




Reaper paid partial attention to the conversation, but most of his attention was on Cat. Hesitantly, he made his way around the group and over towards her, trying to remove the blush from his face now that he realized that he was. It had been a while since he'd last seen her. They'd gotten separated in the house and she'd left without him. He'd been wanting to leave to see her, but...Edel hadn't let him out of the room until just now. And luckily she was back again to...talk to....

Big poofy dress. Not a towel. Big poofy dress. Stop that...

Edel glanced back over at Strange and smiled. "Very well then. If you go down to the next level, I'm certain I have a few servants waiting. They can show you to an empty bedroom to rest for a while, or an empty lounge. They can get you whatever refreshments you'd like until I return. You should not have to worry about getting lost in my home. With the stress it's under, any labyrinth magic should not be working right now." she said.




Reaper paused a moment, unable to help thinking about what she was "probably" doing before she came here, and blushed yet again. He shifted uncomfortably and forced his eyes back over to Strange.
"Erm....well, I got up here about the same time you did. From what I was told before I forced myself out of the room that I wasn't allowed to leave.....was that there were some undead beings here. And...with my condition, I would likely be a target to become one myself. There were a lot of explosions going on up here, and I assume that's what caused that room over there." he said, motioning towards the destroyed room. "If the thing stole someone, I'm guessing Strange tried to summon them back here." he continued, then paused for a beat again. ".....but....instead....um...."

Edel smiled a bit at his expression. "Should those who are not invited to my home find themselves wandering about my halls, they'll find it impossible to get to their desired destination. A house that is continually moving and building. If you happen to ever get the chance for some light reading, or to watch a movie, I'd recommend 'Rose Red'. For an idea of what one might find if they run into my labyrinth."




Reaper cleared his throat, trying to keep his mind off of the 'bad timing'. WHY was he having such a hard time with this...? He's skinned women and he's never had a problem....well....

"So...other than that...are you alright? I really didn't mean to get separated from you before. I wasn't allowed to leave the building afterwards."
