Kevin sighed. Because of you...because of you I haven't slept in days. Because of you, I've been tense and anxious for the past almost 24 hours. Because of you, I'm feeling things that I've never ever felt before...so many emotions are running through my mind... He thought to himself. It was because of her. Everything that troubled him, for the past few days, that had twisted Kevin's whole world inside out, for better and worse, was her fault. All the bad things, and all of the good things in the past few days, was because of her.

His mind was in such a state, he didn't know what to do. At least, he hadn't known what to do. He now knew, she did love him. The question all along has been whether or not she loved me. But it was so much more than just that. I didn't know whether I loved her or not. But now after thinking about it...I think I do... He though to himself. He looked into her eyes.

It was him. It wasn't her fault, it was his fault. He had been the issue all along. She loved him, not Gabe. His suspicions had been true after all. He closed his eyes for a moment, then opened them, as a single tear rolled down his cheek. He was...crying. For the second time that day. He thought hard, and realized exactly what was supposed to happen. He knew the answer. What about Gabe though? He doesn't know anything about this. It would...no. No it isn't about Gabe. Not now.... He though to himself.

He wasn't perfect by any stretch of the imagination, but neither was she. Her imperfections, were what made her so great in Kevin's eyes. "I can't be the answer to all the questions you have." He swallowed. "And I can't be the solution for all of your problems." He said, in a whisper taking a deep breath. "But...I can get as close to either of those things, as I possibly can." He said.

He faced her, looking up, and leaned forward slowly. When their noses were practically touching, he turned his head slightly sideways, and he kissed her on the lips. As soon as their lips locked, something in his mind clicked. Something that was an unsolvable problem only minutes before. He didn't know how, or what exactly he did, but somehow, he had quieted the storm. As soon as he kissed her, all of the worries and troubles seemed to be vacuumed out of his mind, and for the first time in days, he could think clearly, and enjoy himself for the fact that he was aware of what he did, and he knew it was the right thing to do.

((It's so sappy. I love it ^^))

Henry gasped, way too loud. "Oh my gods! Kevin, you dog!" he suddenly began to laugh incredibly hard, rolling of the ground. "You're killing me!" He gasped for air, releasing a high-pitched gasp.

I am in the armory!

Oh. The god Eros, make this period last forever. My troubles are fading away, I want to just disappear in his lips. she thought. She knew exactly what was going to happen once his nose touched her’s. She could feel his heat from his skin as they drew close, and as she closed her eyes, she felt peace. She knew she was alone, she knew she would be in paradise. She gaped a breath, not allowing the time to pass. Even if it meant Kronos freezing them, she would do it. Thing was, this wasn’t her first kiss. But after Gabe, this was probably her favorite. Okay, Gabe’s was cold and mysterious, but this one was familiar. Familiar, like at home, like kissing an old friend. They were true friends, after all. Since she appeared at camp. Since she battled him. Since she was claimed. And now, she felt on cloud nine.

Thing was, Kevin was a good kisser. The feeling of his soft, plump lips against her’s, how he felt so calm and warm. She wasn’t shaking, even if she did feel guilty. Inside her mind, she wasn’t even thinking at all. Which was very different, out of the norm, for her. Though she guessed she wasn’t normal at all. She lifted her hand up, the back of her hand touching his face. She rubbed his face, and soon moved her hands up to his hair, where she dug her hands into his hair, running her fingers through her hair. Lyra swallowed, her face going from red to flushed white, and she felt comfortable. Like she was supposed to do it. She knew that Aphrodite was meddling with her, making her like Gabe and Kevin. Kevin the good kisser, Gabe the kind, gentle, and giving one. It was impossible to know who to like, now.

After it was done, the whole bit, she found herself hearing a hyena. Of course it was the son of Ares, Henry. She pulled her face away from Kevin, and got up from the bench. As he was rolling on the floor, she put her red converse on his chest, and stared down at him with pity. She could pick him up and throw him around the armory, if she was feeling vengeful. No, she felt calm and controlled. She could have thrown her mallet at him, then thrown him to the infirmary. No, she wouldn’t do that, either. She just stared at him, her flames in her eyes a dark crimson. It was of joy and ecstasy, she was feeling controlled and about to explode. After awhile, one foot on his chest, she took off, and turned back to Kevin.

“We’re both going to be scarred for this. We’re both going to be destroyed.”she said, but sighed. “Though, I find that I won’t regret it.” she smirked, and breathed in.

"Sing, clear-voiced Mousa, of Hephaistos famed for inventions (klytometis). With bright-eyed Athene he taught men glorious crafts throughout the world,--men who before used to dwell caves in the mountains like wild beasts. But now that they have learned crafts through Hephaistos the famed worker (klytotekhnes), easily they live a peaceful life in their own houses the whole year round. Be gracious, Hephaistos, and grant me success and prosperity!

Henry couldn't help but just point at her, laughing wildly. "The gods have royally screwed you over!" He got up, rocking on his feet. "O, great Eros and Aphrodite, thank you so much." He got a hoarse laugh, looking at the two, and turned walking out. "Gabe and Adonia will LOVE THIS!" He continued to laugh, the sound echoing slightly.

Kevin slowly opened his eyes as the moment ended. Bliss...absolute bliss. Even Henry's obnoxiousness couldn't ruin it. He though to himself. He smiled, genuinely, for the first time in days. He was happy, and she was happy. It was a perfect moment. No...not just A perfect moment. It was THE perfect moment. At last, things were right. At last, he had realized that this was definitely the right decision.

Kevin leaned back against the wall. He had expected it to be good, but that was the most comfortable he'd ever been with anybody in his life before. Sure, he'd kissed other girls, but all the times before, it was much less serious. He'd never had a better reason to kiss a girl in his entire life, and he'd never been happier after kissing anybody.

He sat there on the bench staring at the wall, a mix of emotions barrelling through his mind as he though about what had just happened. "That was...amazing. Absolutely amazing." He said softly. He smirked and nodded his head at what Lyra had said. "Maybe. But even if we did...it would be worth it. That much I know." He said quietly, breathing in softly and smiling.

>>..Old Boreas and the sun, one day
Espied a traveller on his way,
Whose dress did happily provide
Against whatever might betide...>>

»"As the bag swung back in forth in his hand, Gabe casually walked up to the entrance to the armory. He took another breath, hoping that Lyra would enjoy the gift he had made to repay her. It was also their date gift, but not knowing for sure if they would win it, he had hoped giving her this would inspire them both to do the best, and most magnificent, cleaning and the reward would be their's.

He took another breath, opening the door to the Armory, and walking in. He turned his attention right away to Lyra, who he for a split second was awaiting his arrival. Unfor Unfortunately, Morpheus had simply played a waking dream in front of him, and the vision he had thought was standing before him, was about to warp into a horrible nightmare.

"Hey, Lyra. I just though I'd stop by and visit before the cleaning." he greeted, his eyes turned towards the door. He closed it, making sure no draft would follow in behind him and ruin the weapons. He had read one of the rules on the wall and no cold wind was allowed to be near the weapons, as it would increase the chances of the metal becoming warped and not coming out correctly, thus ruining the blade. As he prepared himself to turn back to Lyra, he pulled out the necklace from his bag, and held it out in his hand.

"I...ugh...also thought I should give you this...as a little-" he started as he turned back to Lyra. It was then that the vision he had though was before him began its horrendous mutation into a horrid nightmare, one only could experience at Tartarus. Lyra, still standing before him, had her arms wrapped around Kevin. She seemed to be flushed slightly, as did he, and Gabe was unsure of how to register it. Before he finished, his confusion got the better of him and he blurted out a question.

"Wh-what...is going on...?" he asked innocently, unsure of what was happening. Why was Lyra holding Kevin with her face so flushed? Why had Kevin been so eager to leave the other day when she announced she liked Gabe? He couldn't make any sense of it, as if his very mind had gone blank.

Gabe was going to find out sooner or later, Kevin figured he might as well tell him sooner, rather than later. But how could he possibly explain it to him? There wasn't a way, he loved Lyra, and he knew she loved him back, but there was no way to tell that to Gabe. Oh yea, by the way I was making out with your girlfriend. She also doesn't really love you, she loves me. He thought to himself. The perfect disaster had arrived at last.

He turned to face Lyra, one of his closest friends at camp, who he was now helplessly in love with. He smiled at her. "Im sorry this had to happen. Forgive me." He whispered.

I am in the armory!

(Are they even holding each other? I thought Kevin was pressed against a wall, and Lyra was standing near him..)

His hands were like her own, ruined and damaged by war. Her own were damaged by work. Damaged by what their parents did best. What their parents… the immortal enemies. The one that took one others wife, slept with her, which led to that one to being trapped by him. If this were really to happen, if this dream was really going to realize, would they accept? Ares probably wouldn’t care, he slept with everybody he probably wouldn’t care who his son was with. But Hephaestus? The god of forge wouldn’t agree at all, and his ill-temperedness wouldn’t help her once she confronted him. He wouldn’t agree with the son of Boreas, either. She sighed, why were the boys she fell for the ones the ones her father couldn’t agree with? Why couldn’t she have done like her father suggested, like having an Athena boy, even Apollo would have been acceptable. No, the Fates made it that she fell for the boys the immortal god of forge and fire, with an isolated temper that lived in a volcano, didn’t approve.

She didn’t want to think about it. Being a daughter of Hephaestus was a hazard all in itself. Though the questions kept coming. Why does he like me? I’m the lamest someone could be! What will this mean? What if that scoundrel Henry tells Gabe? Who do I really like like? Never mind that, who do I really love? I can’t like them both that much, can I? I can’t go on having an affair with Kevin while I’m dating Gabe. Hephaestus wouldn’t approve at all. And what about Adonia? She’ll probably slap me or something like that if she finds out what’s been happening. she thought. But soon fear ran through her. What happens if the whole camp finds out? That would be ridicule. She wouldn’t allow to live with herself if the whole camp finds out. Her sisters.. Her friends. It would be hard to bear.

Turning upon the door opening of the armory, she found the tall, blond boy she had been thinking of. Instantly she escaped his grasp, and stepped towards Gabe. He was talking about giving her something, but what would it be? Leo had given her jewels.. “Jewels mean value of love, unless it’s the color of blood. Then it symbolizes you’re death.” the echo of Maverick’s words ran through her mind. She clasped her neck, where a bronze piece of metal hung. Beside it was the key to the armory, but the necklace was sketched with drawings of fire and metal, but also of her childhood. Even a small Oplizo, which could be taken out, had been carved for some more defense. She wouldn’t exactly replace it with anything else, but she knew whatever he was about to give her was gone. Because it escaped his mind, faded with the steam of the armory.

He turned to her. Kevin that is, and whispered her in a serious tone, “I’m sorry this has to happen. Forgive me.” She sighed, it would happen. Somehow, Kevin had fallen for her. Was it just by a kiss, like how TV shows it? She was unsure of what was going to happen to her. What was she supposed to do but continue to sort embers, if she dared continue that tedious job. Gabe looked so surprised. He was a smart boy, he must have been sorting things out in his mind. Lyra replied by a simple nod. That was all that was needed, after all. Gabe would find out, today, and he would be shocked by the response. They all would be. Thing is, how would it turn out? Who would be blamed? Would it be her, or would it be him? Well, it depended on how he spelt it out for Gabe. If he said he kissed her, then it could be blamed at him. If he said she kissed him, she would be blamed. And if he said they kissed each other… She was unsure of the turnout. Gabe was a smart boy, and a difficult one to read. Unless you spoke of now, where he was shocked.

She sighed, and lifted her eyes to return to Gabe. “Hi, Gabe. I’m so sorry. Aphrodite’s given me a love puzzle, with too much grain and to little time.” she said, referring to the Psyche myth(which is actually a wonderful read, I suggest you go to my journal and read it..). Her mind was working out things that she didn’t want to think about, she wanted out. “I’m unsure…” she told him, and brushed a fallen strand from her ponytail behind her ear. Because of the constant standing, her brace was getting mad at her. And her foot was getting sore. Her shoulders hurt, her eyes were tainted with sleep. The only thing she didn’t have that wasn’t hurting was probably her lips, which were perfectly fine. She put her hands behind her back, where she dug her nails into her pale flesh.

At what would be later considered as perfect timing, Adonia ran into the Armory, skidding to a stop and doubling over, wheezing and clutching her chest. It was evident she had sprinted across the camp without stopping to get here. "Gabe...I have to... have to...t-tell you...something," She gasped between huge breaths. It was a moment before she realized what was going on.

What...?" Kevin and Lyra were holding each other and Gabriel was standing there with a look appropriate to having been walloped over the head with a heavy metal bat. Straightening up, but still breathing heavily, her eyes widened, large and gray and full of tears she could not form. This was too large for tears. She suddenly regretted ever leaving Lyra and Gabriel alone in the woods.

Adonia closed her eyes, wishing she had no feeling in her body, wishing that she could be stone cold, like a statue. She finally opened her eyes, sighing. Gabriel liked Lyra, who really liked Kevin, who liked Lyra back. But Gabriel had always been on the fence about Adonia herself, and Adonia had never properly evaluated her feelings, which let herself at a loss as well.

"...er..." was all she could say. She couldn't bear to look at Gabriel's expression, so she chose to look at the floor instead.

>>..Old Boreas and the sun, one day

»"For-forgive you?" Gabe barely managed to get the words out of his mouth. He could tell that something had happened, but at first he just couldn't bring himself to actually realize it. Like his mind didn't want to see it, or think that what was happening in front of him was reality. Holding the gift for Lyra in his hands, he gripped it tighter and tighter, his fingers wrapping around it completely.

"Why?" he asked a quite voice. Now that he had realized what was happening and pieced together what their reactions were, he knew that they had made out, or something of the sort. His voice began to tremble, tears slowly forming up in the edges of his eyes. He held them back as long as possible, but that only made things worse. His anger, rage, and pain began to take over instead. Though his voice easily showed sadness, his real feelings of wrath filled up his brain. "Why would you go behind my back? Why would...why would you lie to me?" Gabe still had several tears still in the reserves of his jade colored eyes but he couldn't tell if he was indeed going to cry or not.

Next, his gaze managed to become focused on Kevin. His sadness and disappointment with Lyra suddenly became a full-on rage, slowly flowing throughout his body like a poison. That was always his downfall. "I thought I could trust you...and you give me this in return?!" he half roared, half cried at Kevin. He did feel betrayed. Even if Lyra did like Kevin, which was becoming much more likely by the moment, he didn't have to do this to him. Before he was even able to respond, he turned back to Lyra, whom he wished would go into more detail about what happened. But all Gabe had gotten was a "love triangle" type of response. He almost couldn't stomach it.

"Why...would you lie to me Lyra? Why would you tell me...you liked me, if you liked Kevin more?! he inquired in the same type of tone as he had with Kevin, though it was a bit more of disappointment than anger showing in his voice. Still gripping the gift tightly, he turned his gaze towards it. His tears slowly dropped down his face, rolling across his cheeks and off onto the floor of the armory. Lifting the necklace up above his head, he threw with almost all his might the necklace towards the floor, hoping it would smash into tiny pieces. However, the ice he had used to make it was only meant to be destroyed by fire, which could only be achieved by Hestia's fire, so the crystal stayed intact. It slide across the floor and gently tapped Lyra's foot.

"I...can't believe this..." he said quietly to himself, still loud enough however to be heard by Lyra, Kevin, and Adonia whom had walked up behind him. With Lyra still in his mind and heart at the moment, he was unsure of how to react towards Adonia. Would she try and comfort him? Would she want to be with him now, or just offer some condolences before heading back on her way? Before giving them the time to answer his questions, he backed up several feet, bumping gently into Adonia. He brushed up against her hand quickly, but he then turned full fledged out of the cabin and stormed onto the camp grounds. He burst into a run, then with a sudden flash of blue light, his wings enveloped him, and he took off with a sonic boom which shook the very Armory. Roaring through the clouds, he twisted off towards the safest place he could be right now.

"Gabe!" Adonia called, her voice quavering. She turned over to Lyra and Kevin with burning eyes. "That could have gone better," she said, her large gray eyes shimmering with tears. She opened the door of the Armory, preparing for her flight.

"Maia!" She called, wings sprouting from her sneakers as she kicked off and flew after Gabriel, hoping to find him before he vanished off the map completely.

Still slightly angry at Lyra and Kevin, she spun around, lightning enveloping her and striking the ground in a shaking manner. She reached forward with her arm, hoping to reach Gabe, but she couldn't see him. She began to cry, large gray drops of rain falling around her.

((They weren't holding eachother, at any point during this scene. they were sitting on a bench. And I know I forgot to capitalize the T in they, but I don't care, I'm too lazy to fix it. Also, a sonic boom is faster than 1,000 MPH, because it's speed that goes so loud, it makes a sound on it's own, without the force of an object. So it would be like...the sound of speed. It requires that you escape the sound barrier, which bullets don't even do. And Gabe can't fly faster than a bullet, or even like 50 miles an hour most likely. He can probably fly at like 40 MPH, 50 tops, but you're pushing it a bit by going 20X the speed. ^^ Also I'm sorry my other post was so short. It looked a lot longer on my iPod...=/ Also he said "Forgive me" to Lyra, not to Gabe. ^^ Time for some editing? Yes.))

Kevin gritted his teeth and looked at Gabe. His eyes were angry, at himself, for letting this happen, at Lyra, for partially causing it, and at Gabe for reacting the way Kevin had expected, which was angry. Extremely angry. "Wait man. It..it wasn't her fault. It was mine. She didn't kiss me. I...I kissed her. Be angry at me..." Kevin said. He knew he was obviously already angry at him, but he just wanted to make it clear. "Not her..." He said, now more aware of what was happening. He was worried, not so much about anything happening to him, but more of their friendship taking a hit. He could take Gabe any day, he knew that, and he was pretty sure Gabe did too.

He sighed. He knew this would happen. He had known it the entire time, and even with that knowledge in mind, he went ahead and did it. He was mad at Gabe, but not for any real reason. He knew the blame was of no part Gabe's at all. It was split 50-50 between Kevin and Lyra, but Kevin took all of it of course, because it was his mess to solve at this point. He then turned to face Adonia. He squinted his eyes at her, and gave her a stare that would make Zeus himself take a step back. What great timing. Just perfect. You come in now, of all the possible times. I wish Kronos would freeze this moment, and unfreeze you, just you. So you could sit there, and look at the damage you've caused. You are to blame for this too...just as much as me or Lyra.

Kevin had 3 emotions, 3 emotions only. He was sad, that he had screwed this up so bad. He was disappointed that things had played out the way they did, but mostly, he was angry. The greater portion of his feelings of rage were towards Adonia. You're angry at me? Of all people? Your dad sleeps with anything that can be seen, and yet of all people, you're mad at me? For what? There's a reason that that kid who you loved so much is in the underworld where he is right now. Your LACK of feeling, has messed up 3 good friendships...gods. I don't even know what to think of you anymore.

He turned towards Alyson, his sword turning to a wisp of black smoke back at the Ares cabin, and reappearing in his hand. The skull now took the place of the orangish/pinkish/reddish gem. The previous glow was gone. The skull was a sickly plague green color, and black. The eyes of it were burning like coals, with grey smoke rising from them, and the sockets charred black. There was a new glow. An overpowering red glow, surrounding it. It was darker than blood red, it was a crimson color, and it engulfed the sword, to an extent where it was more overpowering than an outline, and was so prevalent, that in some places on the sword, the blade was just barely visible.

"This is a really bad time...you shouldn't be here." He said, holding onto the hilt and letting the blade drop so it was touching the ground, but Kevin was still holding it. "You're leaving...now." He said, threateningly, his voice dark and threatening. He wasn't in the mood to look at Alyson. He lifted the blade up, and the place where the blade had been, touching the ground, was now marked by a large incision, roughly the length of a pencil, and half the width of one. The red outline of the blade began to swirl around it like mercury, shooting out in multiple directions, yet moving slowly, like watching pudding slide down something. It began to form a mesh-like pattern around it, the color darkening.
