Hinote Tosatsu Hikaro_rin Hinote: You keep whining to me about passing your stuff I might handle it like Gregar does. Whining?! I am severely offended! I was merely... Desiring. Desiring out loud, directly to the person who will be responsible for approval or denial, still counts as whining. Hinote Tosatsu Quote: It seems like the spring mechanism would make it hard to actually use the wire. If you were to tie it to a kunai for instance and throw it the mechanism wouldn't release the wire so the kunai would just stop midair. Perhaps some sort of release in the palm to push the wire back out? You would still need to deal with it yourself since I don't think the setup send the wire far you would have to handle it all yourself It works in essentially the same way as a fishing reel. When the mechanism isn't engaged, it does nothing. That's why I included the locking part, so it could be stopped from releasing on it's own. The reel only being strong enough to pull in the wire itself by it's own power also suggests that your kunai example would pretty much ignore it. It might slow the kunai's flight, but it wouldn't stop it until it hit the end of the line. In which case there would be a release to make that work. Where is it? Quote: Barbed Kunai I want to say this is custom weapon territory but it is probably enough of a tool to work with. How powerful is the mechanism? when it pops open what can it push aside? Just flesh? wood? concrete? metal? I'd say probably up to wood. It definitely wouldn't work on stone or metal. Likely... Anything you can physically bury the kunai into, the prongs can pierce. Please post updated versions

Username: Hinote Tosatsu RPC Name: Shikaku Rank: D Technology Name: Wire Cestus Technology Power Rank: D Description: The wire cestus is made of two parts. One, a cestus. A cestus is a leather glove with steel scales on the back and fingers, mainly used to enhance damage from punching. This cestus is special in that it also has scales on the palm of the hand. Part two is built into the wrist of the cestus. Twin reeling mechanisms capable of holding up to twenty feet of ninja wire or razor wire each. The reels are built in such a way that they wrap around the arm, thus taking up very little space and remaining almost entirely hidden. The reels are spring loaded, so that when a catch is released, they will reel in any wire attached to them. They also have a locking mechanism to stop wire from releasing without reeling it in. The release point is located conveniently on the inside of the wrist, as is the switch to activate, reel, or lock, the release. (It is unfortunately rather difficult to work the controls with the hand wearing the glove, so in most cases it is recommended to use both hands.) In addition, by feeding chakra into the mechanism the user can make the reel pull with more strength. Chakra cost is equal to the ranked cost of a jutsu of the strength rank desired. Note: Even if a high strength is used, if the user does not have equal strength, and the object they are trying to pull would require that strength, the user will be pulled instead. The spring loaded mechanism alone is not powerful enough to reel in anything more than the wire itself. Does not come with wire. Technology Name: Barbed Kunai Technology Power Rank: D Description: A simple kunai, with an extra mechanism hidden inside. When this kunai embeds itself in something it sets off a catch on the blade's surface, which causes two extra blades to punch out of it sideways, aimed backwards towards the handle. This makes it so that when pulled, the kunai will get stuck more instead of pulling out. By releasing the catch the blades will retract and free the kunai. The mechanism converts the momentum with which it impacts a target into power for the secondary blades, so it can release with enough power to latch into anything the user can pierce with it.

Hikaro_rin How much sharper than common is the razor? More specifically what could it cut? A piece of paper? cloth? steel? It is about the same sharpness as a razor blade. It can cut up to wood, although it only gently carves into wood at most an inch into the wood. It'll cut a normal person down to the bone, but it won't do more than scratch the bone itself. Hikaro_rin Does the respirator do anything? At this stage, it only changes his voice so that no one can recognize his by his voice. ( I'll edit that in, I was going to wait until the next model to add it, but I forgot I mentioned the respirator in this one. ) Hikaro_rin Please deal with the unit issue Hinote mentioned. Iron sand cannot be compacted in the same way of sand jutsu it might be slightly possibly but not to the same level since iron is sturdier than rock. I'll do that now. Hikaro_rin What does this actually do for your defense? Please note that while armor can block the bulk of the damage it does not stop it completely and knockback remains unchanged (if not made worse by your heavy gear). It merely cuts physical damage down to mere bruising, and elemental damage down a small amount. Hikaro_rin What jutsu level can it defend against? It absorbs an amount of force up to D rank. Hikaro_rin what taijutsu level can it defend against? It can defend against B rank taijutsu if it hits the armor itself, and B ranked weapon techniques. Laxus will still take a D ranked amount of force damage, but no bones will be broken. ( Basically it reduces Taijutsu and weapon damage by 2 ranks, and negates any fracturing or slashing damage he would take, so long as it hits the actual armor and not the mesh suit beneath it. ) Hikaro_rin I would say prolonged exposure should be dropped to 3 posts of D rank or a B rank attack. This tech is only rated at power level D. Otherwise it needs to be bumped up to level C and the cost will jump as well. Yeah, I could definitely edit that in. It was a C rank before, but it needed to be nerfed slightly, so I lowered it to D rank since it wasn't as powerful as before. Hikaro_rin If you become a lightning rod to electricity does that mean that the armor is useless against raiton? I believe it would be acceptable to block up to D rank of the damage but you would probably still get shocked (but the force behind the attack would be lost) It would block the force up to C rank amount ( It is iron after all. ) But yes, the shock would effectively gain a rank in power. Hikaro_rin A 5 chakra activation and two point per post would be better for the weight. That way you don't have to drain half your reserve to start it, but it drains faster. Now does the armor remain weightless for up to 2 posts before the 2 points per post kicks in if I take that as part of it? ( Sorry for answering your question with another question. sweatdrop ) Hikaro_rin I get to determine the final cost, but what do you think would be a fair cost for this tech? It doesn't cost anything... Laxus is making it himself. Later models will have costs for the items that he needs, but this one is made of common stuff he'd be able to obtain fairly easily. Side note: Sorry if this shows up as like ten quotes from me... >.<

Hinote: approved. Glove 200 Kunai 20
Tim: Please note the voice change. Without a jutsu it would not be something you can change other than by removing the mask, so point out what it actually does to your voice (does it make you sound like Batman or a chipmunk?). Do not make your edits to the previous post please resubmit them. Pretty much all your answers need to be part of the description.
two posts of weightlessness I guess is acceptable.
You have to pay for all technology. If you are making it yourself you need to pay for supplies (resulting in the same cost you just have to post it's construction)

Username: TvIaMsOqTuHeYz RPC Name: Laxus Makarov Rank: D Technology Name: 009 Prototype Technology Power Rank: D Description: This is a metal helm, chest piece, gauntlets, and boots. Each piece is mainly red, although decals are in yellow. A skin tight suit is worn beneath this set, and regulates temperature all over the body preventing sweating and degradation of the armor. All portions of the armor provide a 2 rank defense against physical attacks, but only a 1 rank defense against elemental attacks. This reduces most physical attacks to simple bruising, and a few elemental attacks to a lesser amount of pain. Electrical attacks, while the force of them is negated, the shock delivered is increased by 1 rank, making raiton techniques much more effective against him. The Helm is largely red with two kunai like projections where the ears are located. Where the rings of the kunai would be, are two grates that cover the ears. On the forehead of the helm is a saw blade, that is sharper than any that one would commonly find. There is also a piece of metal with a respirator that covers Laxus's mouth. This respirator makes Laxus' voice modified to sound much different. It deepens and gives subtle undertones to the input, allowing for a slightly robotic, but largely human voice ( Think of Sonny off of I robot, but more manly. ). Leading from the nape of the neck, where the helm ends, is a yellow rubber hose. It leads to the back of the chest piece. The head piece weighs five pounds. The chest piece is in three pieces, one for either shoulder, and one for the majority of the torso. This is primarily red as well, except for the underside of the shoulders. The underside of the shoulders appear more as dark blue- black. There is also a piece of under armor underneath the red chest piece, just before it leaves the larger chest. This allows for the simple storage of several units ( Up to 2 units ) of Satetsu without the sand grinding against your chest. On the back of the chest piece, is a small cloth figure. It has five points, two on either side of a larger one that is long enough to drag the floor. The edges of this cloth are made of iron fiber, and as such are capable of being hardened into a blade. This blade is capable of cutting an inch into wood, however contact with anything as hard as bone results in only a small scratch. Chest piece weighs 30 pounds. and the shoulders each weigh 10 pounds totaling up to fifty pounds. The Gauntlets are more along the lines of arm protectors. They cover the forearm from damage. These are red as well. inside of the arm protectors is an iron fiber sleeve that is drawn up and attaches to the shoulder pieces. While this won't protect against most attacks, it can defend up to a D rank amount of damage from a weapon, or a fire attack. The hands are covered by a similar fabric, although this is much weaker. The base of the gloves are linked directly into the arm protector, making it impossible to remove once it is placed without removing the arm protector. The arm protectors weigh 5 pounds each, totaling 10 pounds. The Boots are nothing special aside from knee high boots made of metal with a pivot point for the ankle to lean Laxus forward or backward. Unlike the rest of the armor, the boots are Yellow with red trim around the soles, and the ankles. The boots weigh 10 pounds each for a total of 20 pounds. Weakness: Lightning Rod - The metal that the armor is made of is an excellent conductor, and makes it so that lightning jutsu are drawn to the armor within a foot from Laxus. This makes it decisively harder to dodge any raiton techniques. Heated Combat - The metal is a largely conductive metal, making it so that prolonged exposure ( 3 posts around a D rank amount of fire, or being hit with a B rank Katon attack ) Heats the affected piece of armor to scalding proportions. It does however cool down quickly ( 3 posts of being away from the fire. ) Weighty - Without expending 5 points of chakra to gain weightlessness, and then 2 points per post after the initial 2 are used, the armor makes Laxus' effective speed one rank slower in terms of mobility, however countering with upper limbs is unhindered. Costly - The cost of the materials to make the suit is 2000 gold. The process to make it requires 2 posts sizing Laxus' body, 5 forming the pieces, 2 priming and painting, and 3 creating the underlying heat distributing suit. Picture:

Edit: 10:41 PM 9/7/12: Added a second paragraph to Casing. Username: Hinote Tosatsu RPC Name: Nomya Yasashii/Zdura Rank: A Technology Name: Metal Casing Technology Power Rank: E Price: 50 Description: An unusual design planned by Yasashii long before the fall of Otogakure, for the use of Oto ninja along with his own sealing techniques. The casing is a simple metal ball, a sphere of about six inches. The ball is hollow, with very thin outer walls. The sphere itself is made up not of a solid metal piece, but many smaller interlocking pieces, designed to hold up to a fair level of force from outside, but to shatter if met with any force at all from within. A small section of the casing, just slightly larger than a man's thumb, is possible to be pressed inwards, removing it from the shell and exposing other sections to be removed, so that the casing can be taken apart and reassembled like a puzzle. This point is known only to the designer and builder of the casing, and due to the number of similar points, is almost indistinguishable to those who were not previously aware. v Kumo Tech v Technology Name: Kunai Launcher Technology Power Rank: D Price: 100 Description: Based on a modified version of the crossbows used by civilian soldiers, the Kumo weapon development teams built a kunai launcher that could fire the common shinobi weapon faster, farther, more accurately, and with more power, than the ninja could throw it himself. A crossbow is designed to do much the same with a crossbow bolt, as compared to a bow and arrow. With a tighter string or wire than could normally be pulled by hand, the basic crossbow has alternative systems built in for pulling the string. Anything from a pull handle, to a crank and winch. Designed for shinobi use, the kunai launcher has a much tighter pull strength than even the strongest civilian crossbow. Along the shaft are seven slots, each corresponding to a ninja's strength, by the common ranking system. The lowest setting fires a kunai at E ranked strength and speed, while the highest fires at S rank. Using the pull handle, a shinobi simply draws the bar back to the proper slot, sets it in place, and upon pulling the trigger, the kunai flies out at the set strength. The mechanism is designed such that a ninja can pull to the slot that fires exactly one rank above their own strength, and no further, meaning a genin with D ranked strength can fire at C ranked power, and a jounin with A, can fire at nearly S ranked power. As the launcher is meant for shinobi use, it is designed such that the bow arms can fold in onto the stock for easy storage or concealment. The stock itself is just over a foot long, with the handle and trigger just below the bow, allowing for the stock to be braced against the user's elbow, or the whole bow to be hidden in a large sleeve, without interfering too much with arm motion. Weakness: The most obvious weakness of the launcher is the ninja wire that makes up the cable for the firing mechanism. While very strong, allowing for the power of the bow, it can easily be cut with a well placed blade, disabling the launcher entirely until it can be repaired, which can only be done by a blacksmith in Kumogakure itself.

Zdura is an NPC. NPCs cannot have custom tech (certainly not personal) except in extreme cases, especially when said NPC is pretty much treated as an RPC in other respects.
I still think that the crossbow is a weapon not a technology, but Luo is the captain and he said otherwise. Because it can reach S rank power the rank is too low and the price is far too low. At genin this is a pretty darn good investment since it could last them untill Jounin before it loses effectiveness which is a very long time (for most). I'd say 150 would be a reasonable price, although possibly on the low side. I think you should bump the power rank to C. Weaknesses it would be slow to use since you would have to individually before firing.

It is commonly done to increase the uniqueness of a given NPC or to give them special abilities to make them more useful in their role, or more interesting for those around them. Essentially the same reason they are allowed profiles, should the owner wish, custom weapons, and talents. Anything an RPC can have, a sufficiently fleshed out NPC is also allowed. Edits to the launcher have been made. (Keep in mind that the price field is only suggestions. You still set the price.) Metal Casing: I'm pretty sure I know what this does, since there aren't that many uses for such a device. I think this is acceptable. I would imagine it would be pretty unlikely that you would get more than one use out of it since you need to find and reassemble the pieces. How many can you carry?
Crossbow: Approved.

I didn't intend on having an actual limit on number, though you can bet I'd limit the number that were out there available. And no, it's definitely not reusable in that instance. Thanks to the size, they would be very awkward to carry. Even one likely wouldn't fit in a basic pouch, so you'd have to either use a backpack or seals to carry them around.
