He paused in his purposeful walk through the temple, and first looked to Lorika as she had requested, then to Harata as she posed her own request. It was a strange feeling to suddenly to be the one everyone was looking at. He had gotten that undivided attention once before, and as he eyed Harata warily, he hopped it was nothing like the gulls on the beach had been. "Please, speak freely." (( -flees for a few minutes- ))

She smiled, a bit uncertain. "I just wanted to thank you again for saving me. I know it's just your duty and everything but, it is a great deed none the same. I would also like to apologize for my earlier actions. I tend to try and teach people to fend for themselves, by, well, tough love, and I didn't really think anyone took it harshly and it wasn't personal and I was just trying to help and oh gods, I'm babbling." She ran her fingers through her hair, making it stand on edge. "Look. I guess what I'm trying to say is, I'm sorry, and, could we start again please? I'll try to be nice." She looked at him with puppy dog eyes.
((Oh yes, tis the dreaded infallible puppy dog eyes of painfully cuteness))
((Edit: Read the OOC post above and realized it didn't make much sense. I blame it on my natural, almost white blonde hair!))

Be good... Lorika opened her mouth to tell the Overseer her thoughts, but then noticed Harata approaching them. She quickly changed her mind.
"Nevermind," she murmured, casting her eyes down as if she had just lost a battle "I'll tell you later."
To be honest, her heart was quite sure she was lying. She wouldn't tell him later. The moment had passed. It was as if the whole scenario up in the Sanctuary had been something unreal; a dream, and now she was back in the cold light of day. She'd taken a step backwards through time, into her rightful place behind the Overseer, as opposed to beside him.
She felt numb, and kept her eyes fixed on the floor.
...and you will be lonesome. (( Would respond to Grunny's post in here but i think I need to go to bed D; will decide in a minute ))

Evelyn glanced over at the trio, and then realized what she was seeing. Lorika, the Overseer, and Harata! Oh my! She ran over and hugged Lorika, almost crying with joy. "Oh, Lorika, isn't this wonderful? The Overseer has returned to us!"
She then turned her attention to the Overseer, and instantly latched on to his side in a hug. "Overseer!"

(( Aww, whatever~ One mor epost~ )) Be good...Lorika was broken from her careful examination of the stone floor by the end of Harata's speech.
"What? What did you say you did to the Overseer earlier?"
Her face had just enough time to morph into its Angry default, before Evelyn came skittering up the corridor and latched on to him. All the colour drained from her face.
"Evelyn!" she snapped, a little too forcefully. Inwardly, she wondered why the hug was angering her more than the SINner's transgressions, but her mind had no answer and so she carried on in her cruellest tone. "What was it I said to you earlier about respecting your superiors?"
...and you will be lonesome.

Harata looked down, ashamed. "I don't want to repeat. I don't think it was that bad, but he obviously did. And I do not want to risk angering him again."
He acts entirely on impluse.
((The italics were said in her head, and unless anyone can read minds, was not heard.))

The Overseer deliberated over things, several things, in fact. He sorted them out quickly as possible, to get his ducks (clams) all in a line. He was still learning how to do all of this, and hoping to forget his moments of weakness, he forged ahead. At least his resilience was unnaturally and his hard-headed stubbornness let him ignore the fact his body was begging to go curl up in a corner and sleep a full day. As Harata spoke, it was clear he was listening sincerely. The puppy-dog eyes, however, were a step too far in the wrong direction. "We will see. Just the same as you would call it my duty to assist you, it has so far been up to this point in time, your duty to sow the seeds of chaos and discord. Everyone else seems to see something good in you, but it is disconcerting how quickly your tune has changed once I have been replaced back in the Order." That being said, and feeling he said it rather well, he forestalled his self-congratulations, for he had not so quickly cast aside that Lorika had something she wished to say. That was interrupted again by a new barnacle attaching to him, suspiciously in the shape of an Evelyn. Again, he was learning, although she nearly knocked him over, and he was becoming used to this sort of greeting. And perhaps strangest of all, the Overseer hugged her back, awkward though. At first he briefly had two arms around her, then settled for just the one. (( See how much I improve once I remember that I need to eat now and again? ))

Tears sprung to Evelyn's eyes as Lorika reprimanded her."But...but...a hug is the greatest sign of respect I can give..." She refused to release the Overseer.
