Also, Zulma, I want to say something about your post. Unless Hidoi has been doing things behind Gidel's back or your post was just from the characters' POV, then I'd like you to edit it, because Gidel would not keep peace by going out and killing a lot of people, nor would he become an oppressor. Obviously there are going to be a lot of guards and curfews, but otherwise, the aim of the Mei'q Valuk officials would be trying to let the people in Erion resume as normal lives as possible while keeping them under their rule. They want to make these people their own, not mark them as slaves or enemies.
People of Erion won't be happy either way because no one likes being occupied by another force, ever. But there is no way Gidel would let that sheer amount of death and oppression go on unless the Erion citizens were actively trying to kill the soldiers.
Now if Mental's character went ahead and ordered the death of civilians and whatnot, then that's another thing. Of course, if Mental decides to do that, Gidel will be pissed. xD Sibling tension~

Hey Mythical, I'm not sure I need to edit.
The arrests and even torture have been ordered by Hidoi. So I was merely replying. I know that Gidel did not order it, but his brother did.
The arrest being the first one of the kind in a while, the local population is getting worried.
As for the fear of the characters, this is totally from their points of view. They have been arrested. They believe they are going to die.
....
now i believe we have a time issue between Hidoi and the prisoners vs the rest of the people which is probably why my post does not make sense...so maybe i should just erase it.....
We need a clarification of what happened in the last months in the capital, what's the climate and such....

Okidoki, update from the capital.
There were probably some incidents of death during the riot when the Erion people got out of hand and tried to attack the soldiers. However, Gidel would have ordered the soldiers to try and barricade the lines in order to try to catch Falconer and to keep the mobs from grouping together and causing more chaos.
After that, Mei'q officials would have also tried to keep civilian casualties down to a minimum. There would still be a lot of guards and a curfew, but they would still try to get the people as close to their normal lives as possible. There would still be cases of arrest in order to maintain peace and to interrogate people for information, but that would be done as hush-hush as possible.
Now, all of this is what Gidel would have done. Mental, if Hidoi has gone and done some devious s**t, then go ahead and do it. Just know that Gidel would have been actively showing that he doesn't agree with Hidoi's tactics and he would argue with him.

Well no, not really. He's been trying to smooth things over with the respective guilds and what not of the kingdom, but he's having trouble doing so. There's your standard whatsitcalled...bed time whatcha ma call it every night and guards patrol the city a lot.
It isn't say an atmosphere of fear at all time, its just that he's having some trouble controlling the kingdom following the loss of the queen.

I thought I posted something here yesterday...obviously not >.<
Mythical, I was thinking that in order to combine the two timelines. Mark and the others could have been put aside in isolation cells for months in order to be ripe for interrogation by Hidoi who was busy until then... that would put all the stories at the same rp time....
