"Simple like brain surgery." Michael joked, returning the love bite. "But we're rambling. And you need the sleep. So lets get some rest." He gave her another tight hug and moved to a comfortable position with his arms around her. "Seriously, go to bed. I don't want you getting MORE crazy."

Banshi closed her eyes and actually cuddled very closely to him, burying her head into his shoulder. "So you mean that's not what you love about me?" She joked back, her body actually nearly felt numb she was so tired... A feeling she was use to having fairly often.

Michael smiled lightly and shut his eyes. "I love your insanity. But there can be too much of a good thing." They were facing each other in this position. He could see how pretty her eyes looked tonight. "I love you."

"I love you too, Michael." She said in a slightly tired voice through a stifled yawn. Closing her eyes again, Banshi almost immediately blacked out and fell asleep. When asleep, she was perfectly still and silent. Her pulse almost difficult to find, and her breathing was shallow and quiet. Banshi always was like this as she slept... Silent and still.

Mike hugged her close to him while she slept and watched the clock. He had gotten plenty of rest in the past few days. One night without sleep wouldn't hurt. It was going to be a good day tomorrow, he could feel it. Sure they would have to meet with that b*****d Avarice. But, still. He couldn't help but think tomorrow would be good. "Hopefully." He whispered, kissing Banshi's forehead and taking a long breath before checking the time once more.

Michael woke Banshee up, and they departed from the Cathedral, since Banshee thought it would be more appropriate to take him to mourn over the grave of the girl Avarice had murdered before they went to confront him.

Just less than five minutes after they left, Kirai walked inside of the cathedral. "I know I'm being used... to kill, to possibly even kill myself. However...." Her hand squeezed around the vial, and her eyes closed. Approaching the front of the church, she fell down on her knees in front of the alter, her cloak falling off her shoulders revealing her elegant and beautiful solid black Victorian lolita dress. "....I am desperate." Tears flowed down her cheeks and she held herself, shaking, her head bowed down so low that her golden curly hair brushed along the floor. "If I can find out who I was suppose to be, maybe, just maybe... I can escape who I was. Who I loved, while protecting him at the same time..." Lifting her head, there was still a few hours before dawn, just enough time, she figured, to finish this 'trade' with Riley and get back to Vaclav. Her figure cast several shadows from the hundreds of lit flickering candles that sat upon the alter just feet away from her. In this lighting, the red velvet rug below her looked like blood.

"....I have forfeited control of my insanity, at least, for now." Kirai stood up slowly, holding the vial and watching the liquid swirl and the lights dance off of the glass.

Homicide appeared, although unseen, watching from above Kirai. Her expression twisted, and a look of horror stretched across her face. No! Her soul is not grown enough to survive the fires of death! Not yet! Homicide could not stop her, and suddenly realized. "....damn you, sister...." A cold sweat fell down her face, which more resembled a skull than anything living, as her eyes wide open watched helplessly as this was about to occur. "...At least my crusniks escaped in time, to mourn the death of their friend... Yes, I planned that part perfectly, for my little sister's sake." Sudden rage infuriated her. "BUT NO!! KIRAI BELONGS TO ME! EVERY PART OF HER BEING, BODY AND SOUL, BELONGS TO ME!!!"

Kirai dropped the vial to the ground. As the glass shattered, a purple smoke suddenly filled the room. In horror, Kirai covered her face with her sleeve and ran, coughing, down the aisle. The candles behind her went out, and the entire cathedral was filled with pure darkness. As a cloud shifted over the moon, it was so dark within the worship hall, even Kirai could not see with her nosferatu eyes. Falling to the ground, she let out a gasp. "I...can't....move...." The gas smelled like grave soil and blood, she closed her eyes and willed her arm to stretch out agonizingly.

Blood dripped out of Kirai's mouth, it was all happening so fast. "This feeling, no, I'm..." Dying. Tears running fresh down her face, mixed with blood pouring from her eyes, Kirai gasped in desperation for breath. In the darkness, she could see nothing, and in the silence, she could hear nothing except for her own pathetic cries and attempts to breathe. Despite seeing nothing, she was too frightened to close her eyes; her eyes were wide open. After several minutes of lying there, thinking over how stupid she was and how horrible and disgraceful it was to die like this, Kirai finally quit struggling to stay alive, and closed her eyes. She was.... going to pass away into eternal nothingness, without any ability to come back. There was no hell for her, and there certainly never had been the chance of heaven. There was only nothingness.... passing away into non-existence. The last things on her mind now were thoughts, kind thoughts, of the few loved ones she had. Of her home, Vaclav, and how precious her home had been to her... Of the life she had lived. Even her last death she looked upon with fondness, just to have at least died by Avarice's hand rather than the hands of an enemy. How deeply she still loved him, and how, if anything, she was praying to any and every god she could think of that her death would somehow benefit Edward, Avarice, and Salazar more than it would hurt them. Maybe, she hoped... they could live easier without her. Especially her beloved Avarice, who loved her even in death, and her beloved Edward, who loved her and took care of her for so many years. They have higher callings...

She coughed up more blood, still paralyzed on the ground, trying to calm down and clear her mind before facing this final death... This was her worst fear coming to reality, so what had she to fear any longer? What had she to care for? To regret? Everything.

Gentle hands gathered her slight figure, pulling her into a womans lap as she stroked her cheek soothingly.. wiping the blood away loveingly as a mother would her child. Nature was quite the opposite of her sister Homicide.. her form represented the beauty some found in death, golden hair and fair skin.. her expression serene, hiding the lust for destruction that showed so easily in her older sister. Cradling Kirai to her she leaned down, whispering kindly in her gentle sing-song voice. " Little Rosette.. so much regret, so much pain. yet you are unready to die.." her gaze studied the mortal creature, either unaware of her sisters presence.. or wise enough to show no reaction as she started to weave her binding over the girl. " Become one of my Reaper Maidens, and I will save you from this empty death."

The moment before Nature appeared, Kirai thought out her last questions, things she pondered even now. Why is it whenever I have any desire, people die? Not just evil desires... my 'good' desires as well: the desire to be a wife, to have a family, to love someone, to be loved, to retain some form of innocence although my being is drenched in blood and filth... Why has the race after every good thing cost me my life, all for naught?

Then, she felt a warm embrace gently cradling her and wiping away the blood and tears from her eyes, before she heard the voice of what seemed like an angel...

Even with her eyes closed, Kirai could see her. Nature was stunning. Beautiful, peaceful... Maybe she was hallucinating? Her head fell back as she couldn't hold it up anymore, and above, she saw and recognized Homicide. She had not remembered until now what had happened after she died the first time, but now, it felt like something she had known all along. Yes, I know you... but the Death that embraces me now, who is so close, I have never known. I don't care if she is a devil or an angel, what she is offering me... Kirai then recalled a conversation she once had with James two hundred years earlier, where she confessed to him that killing and vengeance gave her no pleasure, and how greatly she regretted the time she had wasted chasing after these things. Where had that wisdom gone? Was that wisdom only her spirit had retained? She felt the struggle for breath suddenly becoming more intense, and an almost instant relieving of pain; that is when she knew she had not time. At this point, there was nothing left to lose, and everything to gain. Rosette's blue eyes returned to looking at Nature, and with her last breath, she managed to gasp out, "...yes."

Homicide scowled and closed the portal, vanishing with the last words echoing through the room, "Damn you sister... damn you."

" Then live.. with Deaths blessing." The girl could not see Nature's wicked smile, the hellish satisfaction that lit her eyes as she leaned down.. placing a delicate kiss upon Rosette's brow. A small sliver of her magic shot between them, welding itself to Rosette.. binding her to the living world even as it worked to heal the damage done to her body. On the back of her left shoulder a tattoo apeared, a skull resting on a oak leaf to brand her. such poisons would never again work on her, all of her organs repaired or replaced as Nature stroked her cheek. " Do as I bid, young Rosette.. and you will live, even have children with your chosen beloved. Scorn my gift, and even Homicide will pity your fate." as she spoke she, too, faded away.. laying her Priestess's form upon the churchs floor.

Riley bowed her head in understanding, the oak leaf brand pulsing on her shoulder. Tonight she gave her position to Kirai, forfiting the honor of HighPriestess.. now she would become what she was ment to be, Nature's Wrath. Her red gaze studied Kirai and her eyes narrowed, her sharp nails scratching the stone doorway as she sighed. She would have to teach Kirai how to use her magic now.. the strigoii would be able to use all the destructive forces of nature, summoning earthquakes and so on. What fun.. to baby sit a new high priestess.. smirking she folded her arms over her chest, leaning against the stone as she waited for Kirai to wake.

Kirai opened her eyes slowly. Her body, everything felt... different. Sitting up, she rubbed her forehead and whispered out loud, "I'm not dead... It must of been a-" Then, she smelled the scent of death from the human corpses in the cathedral, and she knew. Along with that, she picked out Riley's scent. Her heart raced a bit. Standing up too quickly, Kirai fell down into a pew and grasped at her ribcage over her heart in shock; her eyes wide open and her arm trembling as she felt her heart- both of them, beating. Warwick had long ago removed her second heart, and the other that was left had not beat since her death. That means... Kirai moved her hand away from her chest and grasped her head with both hands. Her voice trembled and her breath was shaky.
"Riley.... " Kirai felt... closer to being whole, than she had felt in a long, long time. It was very unsettling to feel this different, despite the fact it was a good thing. "Is this... what you wanted, or what Nature wanted? Now I realize... I was suppose to have belonged to Homicide, no, I did belong to her... but no longer. Correct? "

Shadows shifted, parted.. and Riley was kneeling next to Kirai's pew, red eyes unreadable as she watched her adjust to her repaired, living, body. " Nature had wish of a real Priestess.. I placed a sugestion." slowly she stood, turning to the side as she studied the dead church-folk.. her gaze somber. She offered no explanation to Kirai, no reason as to why she would help save her from Homicide.. instead simply lifting her head and exhaling softly, a heartfelt smile curving her lips as she relaxed. " Do you feel it, Rosette? No longer must either of us pretend to be what we are not.." The mood grew tense once more as she glanced at her from the corner of her eye, her voice returning to its usual wicked drawl. " You have much to learn about yourself, and it must be done quickly.. Homicide's Priest has already destroyed the Idolian clans."

Kirai moved her hands away from her head and turned her head to look at Riley. Yes... we no longer have to. Despite the morbid ending note, and the look of shock on her face at the news, Kirai felt... relaxed. She never had wanted to be on bad terms with Riley, but for some reason, now, it felt as though they had never been on such ends with one another. Kirai could live with this. "I'll do all that is requested of me, Riley..." A very dim, darkened smile crossed her lips. "When given something to live for, or whenever given any work to do or any kind of commitment... I give my everything to it. Much more I'll sacrifice in order to accomplish this."

" I know. I promised you answers, and you shall have them my Oath Sister. go rest, enjoy your rebirth.. your training will start soon." Her smile was edged in humor, Riley's form shifting.. twisting.. until a creature stood on her place. Bone, fur, and muscle showed in random places along the wolf-like body.. a damning red glow serving as the eyes as the creature gave a sound suspiciously like laughter.. the sound itself holding the tears of a lovers agony and childrens screams of terror. Call on me when you have need.. Honor be to the Priestess. Black flame swirled around it, and the beast was gone.. leaving Kirai to do as she wished with her restored life for the time being.
