Raquel merely gave a small forced smile before staring down into her coffee again, feeling a dark cloud come over her.
Nat merely chuckled nervously, grabbing his water and heading into the other room. "Hey, I'm allowed a little bit of exercise! She's one tough nurse, I'll give her that!" He joked, turning to Raquel, but soon realized she wasn't about to respond to his light hearted comments so easily. His usual reaction would be to sweep her up into a hug and ask her whats wrong. But that was Damian's job now. He had Teaga, who seemed to be handling the situation fine on her own. "Hm...Yea I wont keep buggin you guys...I'm just going to go lay back down-"
"No thats quite alright..." Raquel interjected, standing quickly. "I should be going anyways...I think I know what I need to do..." She looked up a the clock, then back down at her hand, turning the ring about anxiously. "...Teagan, thank you...." She said simply, knowing there was too much to thank her for specifically. She leaned forward to give her new friend a hug before nodding to Nat. "I'll see you guys..." She gave her solemn goodbye, turning to let herself out, leaving Nat looking very confused.
"....Teagan....is she going to be ok?" He asked after a moment of silence, concern clouding his face as he leaned against the door frame.

Teagan could not honestly say that Raquel would be alright, so there was no point in trying to mask the darkness already evident in the room. "I don't know Nat," she began. "Sometimes I think her and Damian have such a great thing going, and it's too good to be true, but life has taught me that if something's ever called that, it usually is. And I think Raquel's just figured that out as well."
She looked over to Nat with solemn eyes and gave a half-hearted shrug. All she could do now was voice an opinion. "Whatever happens now is up to her."

Nat furrowed his brow, a grieved look of sadness on his face. "....Poor thing..." was all he muttered at first, looking up to Teagan again. "I thought...she had finally found happiness...." He shook his head, annoyed. "The girl never seems o be allowed to stay happy for too long....but what's worse is...I dont know If I feel sorry for her...or Damian..." He sighed again, trying to shrug it off. "Eh...I duno...I know whatever happens...she'll be ok...she always is....." With that, he took a few drinks of water, trying to change the subject.
"...Are those cookies I smell???" He asked wit ha sudden perked interest in the glorious smell filling the house.

Whatever. It was an emotionless, terribly detached thought, but being so detached from the situation herself, Teagan didn't see how she could try to manipulate the situation any further. It seemed she'd already planted a seed of thought in Raquel's brain, and could do no more.
She came forward and hugged Nat. They had their own problems to deal with. "Yup. Cookies on the counter on that plate are ours. Everything else is for town. Get some fat on you, boy..."

----
the next morning Nat had awoken feeling fantastic, though still just a bit weak. His body was almost entirely back to normal and he was feeling it. He had been worried about Raquel and Damian and was surprised when they showed up that same morning to say goodbye.
"Ah so the newlyweds are back hm?" He smiled knowingly, inviting them in for a moment. "So that means you two are leaving then? Back to veratia?" He asked a little sadly.

Damian nodded. Skeptical still as he was of Nat, at least they were going to be worlds away in just a few hours. "It's time to go back home," he said, cringing on the inside at having to call that place his home. "Are you living here now?"
Teagan came around to hug Raquel. How awkward it was to see Damian there as well, and talking with Nat no less, but she kept quiet on any issues covered the night before. "You two have a safe trip home... next time you're in town, just pop on by. no worries about that, right?"

Raquel hugged her back, saying her thanks before looking to Damian. "Well I have school, but Damian has a house down here... So you might see him and I around occasionally.." She tried to smile rubbing his back a bit.
Nat cocked an eyebrow, nodding a bit. "Sounds nice. We'd love to see you guys down here. so its just a second home sitting down here vacant?" He asked with an interested nod. He was fascinated that this man could affoard two homes on separate worlds. It was no wonder Raquel seemed happy.
Though he had to remind himself she wasnt with him for the money.

Now was his grand move, the gesture he'd been waiting to make ever since he thought of it in the car. It had been sudden and foolhardy in some ways, but with his relationship with Raquel already slowly deteriorating despite their efforts to make things work, Damian wanted to do something to show how he could make things better for everyone, even if it seemed reckless.
"Actually, I wanted to talk to you about that. You're living here, correct?" he asked, knowing already that he was and that there was no need to answer. "What would you say if I paid you weekly to look after the house. You could move into a guest bedroom upstairs. So long as you treat the house with extreme care and tend to the grounds, I'll see to it you don't regret taking the trouble upon yourself."
Teagan looked surprised to say the least as her widened eyes went from Damian to Nat and then to Raquel. Nat, not staying in her house? the idea didn't sit well with her, but at the same time, it would give Nat some kind of job and a separate place to live. If he did that and worked with her at her shop, things could really work between them financially.

Raquel blinked blankly and looked to Damian. Where had this come from? She glanced to Teaga, letting her know she had no clue about this.
Nat though was a bit beside himself for a moment. At first he seemed confused, then smiled slowly. "Serious? ....Thats....wow...." He was taken aback.
Usually Nat would have declined the responsibility, but he knew it'd do wonders to help out Teagan and build up their relationship.
"...Well Damian, If Teagan doesn't have any objections, I say you've got a deal." He smiled, though looked back to his love to see if she were ok with this arrangement.

Teagan gave him a very light tap on the back of the head. "You ijit! Go on, you take that house job or I'll drag you there myself!" She started laughing out of pure joy for him as Damian stuck out his hand for the deal. It was rather informal and there wouldn't be any sort of paperwork involved, but he would see to it that Nat was paid handsomely.
"You just need to keep things looking good," he said. "I trust Teagan will give me reports on it, as well as Richard and Lorey. But, there we have it. Thank you, Nat." Words Damian never thought he would say more than once or twice in his life, but there they were. The deal was set.
Teagan squealed, making Damian jump a bit. "Y'all got yourself a paying job, Nat! And a beautiful house to stay in, who woulda thought!?"

Nat was a tad numb y then but merely smiled nad nodded as he met Damian's handshake. "Its a deal..." Was all he said, still smiling as Raquel couldn't help but smile as well.
*fastforwarddddinnnn xD*
Once the excitement died down, Raquel gave final hugs, not even feeling too awkward with Nat. "You take care now Natty....We'll see you guys soon.....and dont let this one go...shes a keeper." She whispered to him mid hug. Nat merely smiled, kissing her cheek in a brotherly way before tussling her hair.
"Good luck to you Rox... I know you'll blow the socks off that school. Show 'em what real talent looks like alright?" He winked, which practically made Raquel tear up.
It wasnt that she was sad or tht she'd miss them. It was that everything seemed so happy...yet not at the same time. "By Nat..." She nodded, pulling back and saying one more to Teagan before heading out the door.
"...You ready to go home Damian?" She asked, though her voice wasn't as excited as she had meant it to be.

Damian nodded. He'd given Nat all the information to the house and even one of the keys that he had. Everything seemed set, and they were ready to leave for Veratia. "Good luck you two," he said, and left to open the door to the speeder for Raquel. Their vacation was over, and it was time to return to life as usual, even though it would be far from usual once Raquel was back in school.
Teagan felt so elated for Nat, but at the same time, there was something that was bothering her. She had waited until everyone was gone before turning to him with a worried look in her eye. "Hey Nat... are you going to burn the stash now? I mean, now that you've pulled through and you have this job to do... Will you put a real end to it all?"

Nat was silent a moment before answering. "I was going to ask you if I could have it back Teagan..." He said after a moment, turning to her. "I wont light up, I swear. I just....I plan on disposing of it... but I'm not going to burn it." He said with a definate nod, then looked up to Teagan.
This would be a big test to see if she trusted him or not. To be honest, Nat had no real desire or the stuff anymore. At least not at the present. He usually only 'needed' to light up when he was in pain, emotional or physical, but he hadn't had either for awhile *except for the previous nights* so he felt pretty good.
He had a surprise planned for Teagan anyhow, and she'd get to see him dispose of it once and for all.

Teagan looked at him long and hard before slowly nodding. This was something that she needed to learn: trust. And if giving Nat the very thing that could destroy him, believing that it could be disposed of without fire, she would.
Silently, Teagan went back into the kitchen and retrieved the bag out of the mason jar way back in the cupboard. It smelled a bit and had dried out, but she came back with it and handed it over to Nat. "Well," she said. "There you are."

Nat took it gravely, rolling it up gingerly, and standing there a moment before putting it into his pocket. He looked up at Teagan, and without a work, slipped his hand behind hr head, and puled her in, kissing her deeply.
