Your character is fine, its nice to have someone just play a simple pilot. You'll be assigned to Raptor Squadron, which is made up of TIE/Ln Starfighters. I'd guess 2nd flight so Raptor 7 will be your callsign.

Not that my opinion has been asked for, but I don't care if you're a General or Major, noone should even have a whole Battalion side with them. Period. This is a rebellion, and if you're in the bloody stormtroopers, then 99% of them would rather die than betray the Empire.
I say give him two companies. Out of the entire ship, having a battalion (a whole battalion) side with us should be considered a miracle. Any more is bloody stupid.
Edit: Hey Des, since we're short on pilots, in the event that my XG-1s aren't needed, is it safe to assume I'll fly one of the TIEs?

This isnt exactly the Coruscant Security Force.
These are aliens who, usually in the pursuit of work, or just army service, have been s**t on by the same people they looked up to in some aspects and have been taken under the wing of his obviously seasoned officer and taken care of and watched after. Each one of these men would take a blaster bolt for Dagon. And he would too. In short, they trust him, and dont trust the Empire exactly too well. This is the kind of thing that only existed in dreams.
Whatever, the other battalion basically came down to a squad or two who made it out alive. Its fixed. His men refer to those loyal to him, which is 98% of the battalion. Which of portion of is gone, replaced with other disloyal troopers. Consider you won the ******** Stormie lottery.
My XO is actually going to be Prime, so theres another reason why I'm lucky I didn't get backstabbed. Any of the new recruits that may have recently joined me likely went right on with the order to start slaughtering, and the moment they did, mine would likely shoot them in the back.
The reason he has the armor is there. He killed a Mandalorian some 120 years ago and took it. Why is it a problem? No-one knows what it actually is beside him. Its not a balls thing, its a character thing, and its only a breast-and-back
EK, should have made that suggestion some time ago. There are 891 loyal troopers inboard for the ride. Just because they are stormtroopers doesn't make them fanatical. There were divisions who were, this obviously isn't one. And with an organization as large as the Corps, I'm sure there are alot more.
If you want to talk about miracles, its the fact that there is a rogue ISD trying to join the resistance. Wrap your head around that and make sense of it.
Profile fixed.

How did you even FIT in that armor? Thats all custom make and the average Feeorin is much bigger than your average Mandalorian.
And these guys are right, Des. Even Alien Stormies are loyal to the Emperor. You will not have full strength battalions available to you.
But on the same token, if he gets a mando breastplate, does that mean I can have a double bladded lightsaber?

The TIE Pilots are flying ties, that is until we get pilots cross-trained into different ships. Most pilots are only trained to fly one type of fighter and have to be retrained if they switch types, or at least given a couple hours behind the stick to figure it out. Cale Darksun How did you even FIT in that armor? Thats all custom make and the average Feeorin is much bigger than your average Mandalorian. And these guys are right, Des. He has stormtrooper armor and an imperial uniform that's it. We don't need a twinked out super-trooper for a security officer. We need Odo, we need Worf, we don't need master chief.

Des can't have Mando armor. The Empire wouldn't let him keep it, and there's no way he's going to hide it from them.
Now, if he acquired some during the RP, though I don't see how, that'd be different.
And thanks Stellar. Meant to direct my comment at you anyhow
