Goblin looked at the extended hand, apparently dismissed its importance, and went back to his mints. "I got your message," he said in a rather bored tone, "If we could skip the posturing, please? I was under the impression that you had a proposition for me." Looking around the wrecked office, he smiled crookedly. "It seems that you are no longer in any position to make good on it, however. Pity, too. Could have gone interesting places."

Turning back to look at Luthor, Goblin's smile took on a bit of a nasty tinge. "Of course, the real pity is that I have no use for someone who is, erm... What was it?" He took out what looked suspiciously like an i-pod, although it was a little thicker, and bright, almost acidic green. "Charged with conspiracy to commit murder, aiding and abetting, attempted murder in the first degree... ooooh, two counts?" The grin widened even further. "Naughty boy. In any case, I'm sure you're aware how a man in my position has to appear. That psychotic Green Goblin person broke you out of Rikers, but fortunately for the terrified populace, the Iron Patriot can easily get you safely behind bars once again." Pause. "That is, unless you have a counter proposal."

"The Avengers, actually," Goblin corrected him lazily, "The Thunderbolts were criminals who were trying to pay their debt to society. The Avengers are the people's heroes. Mostly the same members, but the difference in image matters." He paused. "What's your point?"

The Goblin raised a finger and wiggled it back and forth, making a 'tsk' sound. "One problem, Lexie," he told the other man, sounding almost gleeful at having discovered a hole in his logic, "While it is true that I posses an unprecedented level of control in my world--enough that I can pardon pretty much anybody that I please-- I have no such weight in yours. Superman brought you in with evidence gained from that Batman character. I don't have a magic wand to make that go away."

Goblin thought about this for several seconds, silent. "You realize what the logical first step to this is," he said after a minute, "You should turn yourself in. That way, my recommendation will have sufficient grounding in reality. After all, your crimes were committed earlier this morning; you'll have to show them you're serious about rehabilitation in order to move the time table ahead."

The Goblin grinned that unnerving, too-wide grin, and suddenly had sharp, bladed little pumpkins in his hands. "Oh.... I have some thoughts on that," he purred, "How about a near-death experience?"

"You don't," the Goblin said evenly, raising an eyebrow. The grin did not, however, go away. Then he chuckled. "Joking, Lex. God, you're a stiff. Basically, you're continued existence is, at the present moment, useful. Or did you not hear about Spider-man sabotaging one of your New York branches? You're useful, and this makes sense. A break out gone wrong. One of your psychos turns on you, and you forever forsake crime and the trouble it's brought you."

Rapture fell from the top of the large building and landed hard onto the roof of another one. With an angry growl he pushed himself back onto his feet and turned to scowl up at the man who had knocked him off the building. After a mere seconds worth, he was knocked from the rooftop again. This time by a creature in black and green armor. He hissed and slashed Chaos across the face with a clawed hand. The act was enough to make Riku loosen his grip, which was all he needed to break free. Rapture then kicked against Chaos and bounced across the buildings to try and get some distance between him and his attackers.
Kenji was faster than he was, and easily got in front of the dark red creature. Rapture hissed again and bound backwards out of reflex. He heard something land on the rooftop behind him and whirled around to growl at Chaos. He glanced between the two, knowing even with his current abilities, he was still too outnumbered to continue fighting them. He’d have to try and talk his way out of this, or try to fly out of here.

”Have you had any work lately, Dinashi?” Rapture asked in his monstrous voice.

”Had a job. Went down the drain. Why, you want to offer me something? What do you plan on paying me with, a pat on the back. I haven’t seen your fancy little lab around here anywhere so I know YOU haven’t been working.” Kenji replied.

”Oh, but I can easily re-build my lab. I still have a few stones with me. I can give you power, Kenji. More power.” Rapture replied, then turned and looked towards Chaos. ”And I can help you make sure Sapphire gets what she deserves.”

”I think she’s had plenty of pay-back.” Chaos replied simply. ”I’m no longer interested in her.”

”He promised his girlfriend he’d be good.” Kenji said to Rapture in a conspiratol whisper.

Riku glared at him a beat, then turned his attention back to Chaos. ”Anyway, no deal. I want you to make a machine to help me destroy Blood.”
