Damian had to laugh and nod. He should have known that. After all she had been through before he had even met her, he should have known she would be just the same when he left her for school.
"Come here..." he said, pulling her into a hug. "I know that you will be brilliant. Make new friends, amaze your professors, and dazzle the world."

Raquel smiled, easing into his hold. "Thank you for giving me the chance to do that Damian..." She cooed as she burring her head into him, clutching him as if she never wanted to let go. She didn't have to repeat how she probably wouldn't be here if it weren't for him. That was somehting too painful for either of them and she knew it. So she simply held him, thankful to be there and breathing, in the arms of this wonderful man....

The day was winding down. Damian could feel the world changing into its evening glow somehow, and wished he could start to fade into sleep with it. He was still a bit jet lagged, though, and knew sleep wouldn't come easily.
"Want to go take a tour tomorrow? I could call them up now and arrange for reservations." He was looking forward to this so much that it made his heart feel full to bursting.

Raquel sighed contently, turning in his arms so she could look up at him. "...Sounds wonderful. If you're sure you'll be fine, go ahead and make the call..." She smiled as she rested her head on his chest, knowing they should get off to bed but loved hearing his heartbeat and feeling his warmth so much, she didn't want to get up. "Then maybe off to bed..." She yawned slightly, feeling utterly at peace even with Nat in her thoughts still.

Having his permission granted, Damian fished out his cell phone and dialed the number he had gotten for the finest and most exclusive wine tasting tour he could find. Only the best for the both of them, as it always should be.
After a few brief conversations, Damian arranged for a pick up the next day, but asked politely for one moment to ask Raquel a question. "Would you like to be in a small group of people, or be given a private tour?" He wasn't sure what she preferred, and didn't want to make anything set in stone until he knew.

Raquel had to alugh. "Darling I hardly know what wine tasting is, or how to go about it, so I highly suggest you make the decisions. I'm just terrified of embarrassing myself..." She chuckled, smiling up at him face red. This implied a private tour, but she hadn't realized it. She wasn't sure if she should attempt to be the upper class woman Damian should be with. To help his image for once instead of bruise it... Yes that'd be nice...so really either ways he was content.

He gave a nod and asked for a private tour. If Raquel got a bit tipsy or felt out of place, at least she wouldn't be criticized by the other elite visiting the villas.
With the phone conversation over, Damian leaned back with Raquel still in his arms. Everything was set. They would have a vehicle and chauffeur to take them to their appointments, and end with the house he hoped she would like. If she didn't fall in love with it, then he would find another, with her by his side. This had all been arranged while she had been helping Lorey with the wedding, so Damian hoped she wouldn't be mad he hadn't bothered to ask her.

Raquel yawned, stretching a bit as she snuggled down into his hold. "...should we head off to bed? We could just stay here, but I'm still worried about that leg..." She frowned slightly, listening to his heartbeat for a moment. "They said any room we choose, but I honestly think I'd feel more comfortable in the guestroom..." She sighed.

"We should. The more sleep we get, the more energy we'll have for tomorrow..." Damian wished he could sweep Raquel up and carry her up the stairs, but the image of Richard doing the same for Lorey crossed his mind. There was one reason why they would stay to the guest room, he thought with a sly smile.
"I wonder how Richard and Lorey are doing?" he asked rather off-handedly as he rose from the couch. His whole leg was stiff, but at least it wasn't in terrible pain.

Raquel chuckled as she stood off him, to try and help him up. "Probably having fun with my wedding gift." She smirked, remembering she did pack her own little surprise for Damian in her bag. Though it would have to stay there until later. Damian was in no condition for that now... she hated it slightly but blew it off.

"I am happy for them. Truly. They both strive for fairytales sometimes, but somehow, everything works out for them." Damian hobbled towards the stairs and showed no sign that he wasn't looking forward to going up them. At least they weren't in the hotel anymore, where there were even more flights he had to struggle up almost every day.

"Just like it will for us..." Raquel added quietly as she helped him hobble up the stairs little by little. She'd love to just set him on the couch but knew that he'd be miserable. At least he'd get better rest despite this climbing.
Though she did believe what she said. Things would work out for them. Things did admittedly have a way of unraveling but they always came back together in the end. She loved that. Dysfunctional at times, but still strong and wonderful...

Damian managed his way up the stairs, and with Raquel's help, got himself ready for bed. As he lay there, all he could think of was the look he hoped to see on her face when she saw that house. He would be able to admit defeat if she didn't like it, but something in his heart was so set on the idea.

---
After a long day of wine tasting, touring vineyards and countryside, and seeing the house of their dreams, Damian and Raquel had come back to their homebase of operations. Both looked tired, but happy. Damian knew he hadn't felt the same way since she had said she would marry him, and now they had a house they would buy. He had made the call on the way back, and would meet with the agent the very next day to seal the deal. Raquel would have to sign as well, and together they would own the house.
"Come my dear," he said, sounding dignified as they went up the stairs to their room. "It's time we slipped into bed..." He kissed her sweetly as they made their way up, side by side, in the evening light.

Raquel had meant t do some fooling around, but by the time her head hit the pillow, she was out like a light. All the emotional wear on her from that day, mixed with jut overall exhaustion from traveling all around, made her black out in an instant.
Though the next morning, she awoke quite early for some reason. She slipped on her robe and padded downstairs as quietly as she could manage, putting on a fresh pot of coffee for the two of them. She was going to make breakfast, but figured that'd wake up her prince upstairs. After all he'd done, he deserved to sleep in a bit. Once he started to stir, she'd throw some breakfast together, fit fora king.
The sun was just starting to rise as she poured herself a cup of coffee, and stepped outside just a bit in the brisk morning air, to watch it rise with the day. Raquel had technically seen a million sunrises back on veratia, since she was out working those early hours. But they had merely been a smoggy change in light. Nothing more to her. She had occasionally found herself just stopped, taking in the new morning, but was overcome with smog or a crowd of business men and women in a hurry. But not here. Here everything just slowed down... and she loved it. The sun came up slowly but surely, filling the sky with all sorts of beautiful colors, as if waking the greenery up, one flower at a time.
Damian brought her here. He brought her to this paradise to live, and even found them a home. One o f their very own... A soft, grateful smile set in as she sipped her cup idly.
