Lucifer's comment about burned food actually made Methi give a little grin. After all, the only time he had ever heard the name 'Lucifer' was in his favorite piece of literature - Paradise Lost,...and we all should who who bore that name.
"Maybe so."

Em shook her head, "My only friends are well, Axl and, well you now," she shrugged, "I'm not super social, I don't like talking to people I don't know. Makes it hard for me to make good friends."

Rosalina watched the two from the corner of her eye, wondering if they would make good allies during this competition. Allies you could trust, yet you couldn't let them know everything. It was a game she liked to play with other audios.
"I think anything would taste better." She grimaced, forcing herself to take a bite.

Before he realized she was being sarcastic, his ears fell a bit. So when he clued into the sarcasm, his face grew hot. "Hahaha, yeah!" he laughed a bit too loudly, trying to cover his stupidity up.
At her whispered suggestion, he nodded emphatically. He'd love to meet her down at the dock!
"Emmm! You're forgetting Biiiilllly~~" he teased, grinning.

Em's cheeks flushed a little, "I haven't really talked to him a lot though, only exchanged names," she frowned, "You and Jay are the only other campers I've talked to for more than a few minutes."

"Oh, I see." Jay nodded at Em's words. Funny, she seemed like a very social person on the outside. Then Axl made a comment about... Billy?
That kid that was on her team? The DnD guy? "Oh! I know him! He's on my team!" She grinned at Em, then wondered about the tone Axl said Billy's name in. Was something going on between them?

The grin, however small it was, was not lost on Lucifer. Ah, one should never encourage the pyromaniac, that is unless they were prepare to face the consequences. Ah, but it was all the encouragement he needed.
A smirk of his own, though not a malicious one (well, the food might have wanted to run in terror, that is if it was alive, it wasn't alive was it?), Lucifer reached into his pocket with one paw to take out his lighter. Flick, the flint spun, though he had not held the trigger to ignite it, not yet.
"Think it would catch fire?"
Well, pasta probably wouldn't burn, at least not with just a flame. But add a little lighter fluid, and that would change. Of course, he would have happily burned there food as well as his, all they need do was ask.
Thusfar, he liked Methi, he was sure they would make good allies. Rosaline, well he hadn't figured her out yet (not that he had figured out Methi either), but hey, they could be allies too.

"Well, seeing as I don't think I have any tapeworms to get rid of, I think I'll take my food unburnt, but you are more than welcome to try on anyone else's, so long as they do not also protest." He'd always been told that food, burnt to a black crip would get rid of tapeworms. Thankfully, he hadn't ever felt the need to try. Methi was, none-the-less, amused.

Well well well. He was serious. Rosalina watched, an eyebrow raising in interest as she took a few more bites. "I really don't want to go hungry though." She murmured.
"But if you want to try it on your own plate...well. I'd like to see if it would burn." Idly, Rosalina wondered what would happen if the burly chef happened to pass by and see his food on fire.

"Suuure~" Axl turned to the counter, wrinkling his nose a bit at the pasta. It smelled kinda funky...but hey! There was garlic bread! He loved garlic bread! Taking a portion of pasta and more than one portion of garlic bread he headed back to his seat happily.

Rosa trotted into the mess hall, ears and tail held high, in a surprisingly good mood for someone who'd been shanghaied into a sadistic reality show. It smelled - well, not better - but different today, the stink of barf and smoke gone under the odor of Mystery Food X, Wawanakwa Edition. Must've aired out overnight, or something. ... There wasn't much by way of food choice. Oh, well. She'd live. At least the kitchen staff couldn't ruin canned soda ... she hoped. She plopped some food onto her plate and took a look around the hall, hoping to see someone else from her team. Oh, hey - there was the guy who'd messed with the bunk in their cabin, along with a few others whose faces she vaguely recognized. She headed over in that direction and took an empty seat without asking. "Yo," she said.

Em frowned and whacked Axl lightly with her tail, "I'm serious, he's just kind of adorable in a geeky way, no idea how he acts or anything."
"He's in your cabin, Jay?"

Jay walked up to the serving table and dumped a load of spaghetti on her plate, sided by a little salad. Hey, it was wilty, but looked pretty... Natural. That was saying a lot for the rest of the food! The garlic bread had a way too pungent odor so she left it be, though she loved garlic bread.
In the midst of serving herself she turned her head to see Rosa walked in. Another Shark. Those guys really kept it together, huh? The Seagulls and Beavers sat together in a bundled mess but their area seemed off-limits to any other teams. Jay shrugged, their loss.
Em stole her attention again then, "Billy? Yeah, he is. I haven't really talked to him yet. Seems pretty shy." She shrugged again, walking back to reclaim her seat next to Axl. This food seemed a lot better than lunch.

Ah well, if they didn't want to enjoy flaming food, well he supposed that was okay, at least he could burn his own, maybe use some of those fireworks he had in his backpack.
Flick, the lighter lite, flame held the edge of the pasta on his plate. As might have been predicted, the pasta only smoldered, far too damp to catch the flame. Ah, the smell of smoke, and yet with no flame is was far from satisfying. So he lite his piece of bread on fire, it burned rather nicely, licking up a tall flame as it charred to black before crumbling on the table. Now that, was entertaining, ke ke.
It was then his eyes fell on the third teammate to join him.
"Hey."

As Axl sat down, the dude with the flames on his tail set his breed on fire. His eyes widened a bit, and he looked down at his own. God, he hoped it wasn't that bad it needed to be set aflame.
Shrugging a bit, he decided it be best to just take a bite. So he did. "Hey! This isn't too bad. At least... not compared to the rest of the stuff we had so far." Chewing happily, he set out to devour his food.
