((You'll have to excuse my absence: my lady was in town this weekend.))
Following quietly into the kitchen and waiting silently for coffee, Isaac's mind began to wander until Sasha entered the room. Always a flirt, she was, and it could be very distracting. A distraction probably would have been nice about twenty minutes ago, but at the moment coffee was first and foremost on his mind. So he poured himself a cup after Zenith and Sasha; like Zenith, he preferred it black and the temperature near scalding. Fresh from the pot was perfect.
As Sasha sidled up next to him, he recalled for a brief moment their first encounter as he took his first sip. It brought a faint smile to his lips, but he easily drowned it with coffee and hid it behind the mug. When he lowered the drink, it was gone and his expression was blank. That was what they had come to expect from him for the most part, and it was his preferred expression because of that. If he did what they expected, there would be no questions.
If he did what was expected of him, he wouldn't have to worry about losing his job, the roof over his head, or Sasha's sexual consolation. Of course, she didn't know it was comfort he earned from their late-night escapades, nor that it was consistency (namely her constant presence in his life) that gave him said comfort. That's all he really wanted: consistency. Hell knew he'd seen enough inconsistency in life. He could write a list, but it'd probably take up what precious time he had left from his medication.
To remind himself, he withdrew the little black notebook and pen from his back pocket. He opened it about half way through with the page marker ribbon dangling from the bottom. At the top of a fresh page, he wrote, Inconsistencies in Life. Then the page was marked again, the pen clicked shut, and both items were stowed in his back pocket once more.
I might need a distraction after all...

((Quite understandable, I trust the two of you had fun?))
Sasha's dark eyes had fluttered closed after a few sips, and she had reached the point of practically purring. She savored each taste, slowly relaxing from the mental strain she had to endure earlier. Understanding Nicky would take time, and she'd do it later, but right now: coffee. She could feel the warmth it caused filling her body. She preferred to feel not think. Especially at what time was it, two in the morning? Dakota had better be good in bed, otherwise Sasha was strangling her for this.
The faint click pulled her from her mixture of homical and other fantasies. Though she could not place it, she instinctively knew that she had heard the sound many times before. So her head moved in a fluid motion towards it, and a faint smile crossed her lips when she saw Isaac open his trusty notebook. After placing her mug behind her, Sasha slid closer towards him in a practiced motion. From behind, she wrapped her arms around him, and it seemed like she couldn't help but nuzzle his neck. She could easily peer over his shoulder and managed to catch the word 'life' before the black cover concealed the page. She whispered softly into his ear, nipping at it playfully, "What were you writing, Isaac?"
((Sorry it took me so long to reply, and for it being short. My connection sucks and it's disconnected before it'll post. And therefore, I've had to rewrite this twice. Ugh.))

((We did. As for your post: Ctrl-A + Ctrl-C = no rewrites.))
Isaac felt himself relax a little as Sasha's body pressed against his. He took a deep, slow breath, exhaling through his nostrils before answering. "Inconsistencies in life." He answered quietly as the room was almost silent. Often times Izzy found himself mentally debating whether or not he should share any of this with Sasha. He had even debated the matter with other minds that did not exist. The general consensus was thus: everything he wrote about them should be kept hidden; they didn't give a damn what he did with the rest.
When pondering as to why he shared some of his writings with Sasha, he guessed it was because she understood discretion and privacy. After all, he did not share everything he wrote, but only what he felt was safe. Sharing the title of his latest topic was the closest thing Isaac would make to a silent plea for understanding and attention, and was a topic the safety of which was readily debatable. Still, it had been said and he would simply have to be aware of what was shared and what was not. After all, these people did not yet know. Dakota knew he was medicated, but even she did not know just how bad his condition was. As it stood, there was a good chance no one would ever learn more than he had already told. Openly admitting to schizophrenia had ******** up his life several times in the past, and he was now extremely hesitant to bring it up ever again.
It would most certainly not be discussed here in the kitchen, a rather public place in the household.
((Excuse the excessive thoughts and the like: it's more for myself, really, to help develop Isaac thoroughly.))

((I'm glad, and yeah...I've learned. The second time, I was just trying to preview it so I didn't think about it.
And that's helpful for me too. Especially in considering what their relationship is like.))
It made Sasha smile as his body relaxed against hers. It was the most wonderful moment: sharing another’s heat. Her arms tightened their grip minutely upon hearing the answer. She never understood what the books’ true purpose was, but from what she had seen it was to remind him of depressing thoughts. Nuzzling his neck caringly, she questioned in a curious voice, as if any answer he gave was fine, “Don’t you prefer the consistencies?” She felt that she was beginning to grow closer to Isaac than the rest of her ‘friends with benefits.’ From being aware of other’s reactions to her flirtations, she could easily tell something was always on his mind. She understood privacy though, and was just grateful for what he did share with her. It was odd; she would find herself pondering what was bothering him. No reasonable suggestion had come to her, so clueless as she was, she could do no more than keep him calm and positive. The latter was difficult occasionally, more frequently when they weren’t alone because she couldn’t distract him.

He nodded. "I do." So very much so, he added mentally. Always the one to find something ironic, especially about himself or his own life, Isaac realized that the only change he wanted in his life was consistency. His life had been lacking so much of it until he came to Dakota's manse. Here and now he was finally able to partake in a life that had a routine, a somewhat predictable future, and reliability. Of course, all these things would eventually end up in his notebook, but for now he simply mulled over all the changes while drinking from his mug some more.
Doing so gave his mind time to wander first to the sensation of the liquid and then to Sasha's physically bearing presence. In doing so, he was reminded of another thing he liked about her, and that was the casual air she always brought with her. It was relaxing having someone who would adapt to his pace mentally, physically, and socially. Hell knew he could take forever to answer question when the medication wasn't in his system. Or worse yet: he often would answer a question four times in rapid succession, each answer contradicting and clashing with the one before it until they made one giant, incoherent babble. He sounded like an idiot when it happened, and he couldn't decide whether or not it happened, so he liked to make sure he was taking his pills before reaching a social encounter. Like this morning, for instance. Guests would be arriving and strutting about the house, so he would have to be very regular about his medication.
It seemed Isaac had run himself through a mental circle, for the answer to his final thought was, "Very much so," which conveniently happened to sound perfectly normal following his previous sentence.

((I'm sorry this is really short, if you want me to I'll edit it tomorrow morning.)) Sasha gave him a sweet smile and as she kissed his cheek. She said in a teasing voice, “Then write about that instead, silly.” She wondered where his thoughts were leading to because she could feel his muscles tense as he mentally drifted off. Her fingers began to lightly stroke at his abs discreetly, as she doubted he’d want public comfort. She closed her eyes as she waited for him to focus once more, simply focusing on his smell. Almost as an example, she relaxed completely against him, her breath coming at a steady rate. She took his addition as a sign that he’d come back to normal and was aware of his surroundings. She ddin’t really have anything else to say to him, but the thought of letting go wasn’t very appealing. So she stayed there, simply relaxed silently against him without purpose. .

He nodded. "I will... with time." Sasha's words put an entirely new spin on his original idea. What he had originally planned to do was list the inconsistencies of his past life without anything to which it would compare. Now, however, he planned to write an antithetical list of consistencies that were developing here during his "new life." It would take time, of course, as he had lived there for a mere two weeks, but it would come to be eventually. It gave him something to look forward to.
Izzy often wondered why Sasha was so friendly and curious about him; he had not originally pinned her as a deeply curious woman, and yet he frequently found her making gentle inquiries: they weren't intrusive, but required more thought on her part than small-talk. It hinted to the possibility that she genuinely cared, something which the schizophrenic was constantly debating.
Then again, what wasn't Isaac constantly debating or pondering or theorizing? What hypothetical situation had he or his imaginary counterparts not conjured up? He had so much inner turmoil, but he accepted it as part of every day life. It was a distraction from his ineptitude in the real world, and he was willing to do just about anything to keep himself from the constant awareness and humiliation of his inability to perform in almost all levels of sociability. Again, he was reminded of how fantastic it was that these people were willing to adjust to his level, even if they didn't do it consciously. They put up with it, one way or another, which was more than he could say about his parents, or their religion, or his old landlord, or his last three employers.
Here, at Dakota's mansion, life was so very good for Isaac, and he thanked Dakota in all manners possible, sex aside.

Zenith tried his best to completely ignore Sasha's brief and flirtatious invasion of his personal space. However, he couldn't help but flinch slightly as she pulled him close. Her perfume was strong, and it clouded his judgement for a brief moment. He shook it off mentally, and stared blankly over her shoulder as she kissed his neck. When she backed away, he made a very slight shudder to express his discontent with her action. He brushed off his shoulder lightly as though he head leant in something nasty. Returning his attention to the coffee without a word, he sipped absently at the intense mixture, leaning back against the kitchen counter and averting his gaze from the woman. He rolled his eyes as she switched her target to Isaac, and turned to see that Dakota had remained strangely silent during the last few minutes. "Don't you want your coffee?" He asked with a small grin. "I'll have it if you don't, so hurry whilst it's still there."
Zenith sipped again at the coffee, and finding that it had cooled slightly he took a larger take on the drink. After a couple of minutes he had finished his, and placed the cup on the counter beside him before continuing to lean idly. He felt a craving for nicotine begin to take hold of him, and swallowed uncomfortably. He had not let anyone in the mansion discover that he was a smoker yet, as he often received criticism for his habit and preferred to avoid this scenario. He tried to let the social situation distract his attention, but had little success due to the fact that it wasn't exactly a very engaging one. Sasha appeared to have Isaac wrapped around her finger, he was trying not to think about that, and Dakota had been quiet since they had arrived in the kitchen. He wondered what she was thinking, but her thoughts were just as much of a mystery as Isaac's often were. It seemed that Sasha was the only transparent individual in the mansion. He thought about his own behaviour, and wondered whether he was an easy person to read. It was an interesting idea, and he let this distract him from the incessant bother of his addiction.
