04 Spriggan So she jumped? neutral
Yeah! that's totally what she did. She was all ninja invisible, and could like... just jump over the wall. So that's exactly what she did.
Added fluff: Not as a snake, because that's just stupid. Upon seeing there was a Habbo standing in front of closed gates, she shifted while staying invisible and totally cartwheeled over the gate. Or not really... it was just floating up and up and up until she was over it and making sure she wasn't making more noise over the sound of her breathing, which itself was nearly impossible to hear. Of course, she was gonna go slow... Thus making her a perfect target for the many snipers stationed around various places of Lament, armed with thermal sensors, and with their trained eyes on the Walls and gates. The rounds would fire from the guns at well over the speed of sound, and while some snipers were carrying magically enhanced shells, the snipers didn't want to risk releasing their positions by leaving a magical trail or signal to alert their target. The rounds would pierce the body of the girl with destructive force before the sound of gunfire would even reach her ears. If she was still living after the first volley, a second volley would be on the way almost immediately afterwords.

Random Stranger #36 The duster was heavy, and on study, produced a small arsenal. Shotguns, Handguns, Ammunition to boot. Nothing too personal, perhaps a few receipts, some gum(Mint.) And pepper-spray. A few scribbled notes, looking to be past dates, and the slight jarbled pages of a spell book, minor stuff however. Novice spells. At a cheap inn, Red had been watching the news about what was happening in Yaits City, in her mind it couldn't have happened to better people, and Yaits dead, she didn't beleive it for a minute. But something was eating away at the back of her mind, Melissa, she had a twinge of guilt, wondering if she was okay. Of course, Lament was under attack, again, and she couldn't go anywhere. She pulled out the small bag with Eri's arsenal and went through it. Weapons, nothing even remotely good. The mint gum looked interesting, she tossed the container on the bed behind her. She read the receipts, the notes, and then looked through the spell book as the guns could be heard firing outside. She tried to read a few of the spells outloud, curious, she tried page one. Nothing, she couldn't read that chicken scratch anyway. Maybe I should go outside and help around a little bit, Red thought,

Fortunately, the work crews from Raven Industries had successfully been locked in as well. Fine with them- they had a job to do.
And the work just kept on rollin', stating with the Outer City. It was spartan living conditions at best- this place had to undergo a major upgrade. Of course, that meant that another announcement was being made.
After they had gathered a quite sizable crowd, the word was spread that the entire area would be put under a complete and total renovation. Workers were needed, able hands and strong backs for good pay. It was their home, and they had the right to get it improved with their own hands- and RI's help, of course.
((Yer post, Ryugi. It's your city, after all.))

Ryugi Kazamaru Thus making her a perfect target for the many snipers stationed around various places of Lament, armed with thermal sensors, and with their trained eyes on the Walls and gates. It was just for stupid reasons like this that she was going slow. Maybe this was just how it was supposed to be, you know? Trying to go in to get some of the famous Lament Green Tea, but getting a gunshot or 20 at her. With the guards hawking so hardcore, she'd only have to worry about those towers at the gate and the ground guys who were wondering what the towers were shooting at... they wouldn't let her get high where she could release some mega-attack of your doom, right? Right.Ryugi Kazamaru The rounds would fire from the guns at well over the speed of sound, and while some snipers were carrying magically enhanced shells, the snipers didn't want to risk releasing their positions by leaving a magical trail or signal to alert their target. Too late. Forgiving the fact that sniper rifles are typically loud as hell, things that pierce the sound barrier create a sonic boom and clouds of smoke. A glint of metal in moving, cocking back... weapons made noise when they moved, with the many small mechanical parts sliding so a guy could get a bead on her.Quote: The City Wall and The Main Gate: A large wall nearly twenty feet thick surrounds the whole of Lament. The Main Gate of Lament is here and is at the extreme South of the city. The wall is patrolled constantly by a garrison of nearly two hundred soldiers and is dotted with nearly 30 watchtowers. Each of these watch towers has a bright beacon that can be lit on the top with a different color flame. A red signal sends a message to the watchtowers containing the Magical Artillery Cannons adorning the wall around the Dark Tower, and the guns will then fire at the offending target. But maybe the small minute sounds were a little too unbelievable. Well, that's why there was that. Screw the need for any other sounds... she could see the bright-as-hell beacons of red light before guns locked and guys went trigger happy.
I see you.
Undoubtedly, these guys were sure that they could hit her, so she may as well keep the illusion for... a second. At the realization of what was to come, she flicked her hand while leaning backwards. At the time the thing was supposed to hit her, she swung all the way around, spinning in the air as if she had solid ground under her.
4/8 time at 280 BPM. Beat 1 was her leaning and twirling. On beat 1 of the second measure, the bullet pressed into her arm, and stopped.
Dance of Shields.
Only two beats into it, and they were laying into her, to the sound of her sighing. An eye roll later, and she completed the spin. End of first volley, start of second. She was shot at before, and the bullets all went tink-tink-tink to the ground at her feet. There was something about them this time that made her think. Normally, she'd just sit here and dance, keeping the Shield up by so little as bobbing her head or breathing in rhythm. However, there was something in the weaponry that continued to make ineffective a shield, that made her actually feel each bullet as it collided. She didn't know how good the shield was against magical weaponry, and wasn't so keen on finding out now. Reanimation was always a bothersome process.
The best way down was to drop. So she did just that while keeping her fist tucked. If the guys wanted to keep firing at her and letting the bullets that had odd angles bounce off and kill other citizens, then whatever, it was their guys. Otherwise, she was going to chalk it up to a loss and walk away... very carefully, because the people here were stupid and if someone jumped at her, they'd have to get slapped down.

"Quite." Decruda would answer as he looked around the area, getting a feel for the location.
Well now, there really wasnt much for him to do until more preparations were made and Gavin revealed his plan to him. Of course, he wouldnt ask, because it wasnt really his business; he would just be in on it, whatever it would be.
The first thing he did was to figure out which way was north and so on. Too bad he didnt have a compass.

A glint of metal in moving, cocking back... weapons made noise when they moved, with the many small mechanical parts sliding so a guy could get a bead on her. And thus this is where her problem was. The Lamentian Guards were on LOCKDOWN patrol. They weren't going to sit around without a bullet in the chamber of their guns. Loading took time, and that was time that the Guards didn't want to have to deal with if an invader decided to show up. So, all that loading noise would be canceled out, allowing the snipers to target the woman with stealth, reguardless of her hearing since there wasn't a loading noise to be heard. As for the "sonic boom", a "sonic boom" still travels at the speed of sound, meaning that if there WAS such a thing from the bullets, the bullets would still strike before the woman could hear it. And to make matters worse, the sniper rilfes were outfitted with silencers to make them even quieter. Also, the watchtowers couldn't SEE an invisible person, at least the guards without thermal equipment wouldn't, and since eliminating the targets was first priority, the red signal would have to wait. Shoot first, alert the others later. Thus was the standard procedure for the Lockdown. She would have no warning to avoid the bullets. No sound, no red signal flare. And the bullets would reach her location before she could even THINK to say, "Oh snap" seeing as the rounds were traveling towards her body at a speed of nearly 2,300 feet per second. She was going to look like Swiss cheese by the time the snipers were done with her.

[i'd like to note that you didn't say any of this, any specific LOCKDOWN status that would be different from anything else, that patterns are going to change on a whim. if there's going to be a problem with you protecting your city that you need to create new situations to deal with specific unproven threats, i suggest you update your front page.]
No, nobody expected guards who were already tense before she showed up to be sitting pretty. But she was moving slowly to watch out for anyone else, to see if in her motions she'd be caught. It seemed she'd be listening too... she worked with sound, and had to make sure some ungodly thing wasn't thrown at her, or she didn't meet a vacuum. The point was, that she was being really quiet and listening harder than usual. Normally, if she were just walking and talking... no, she wouldn't have been able to dance it off before the magical supersonic 10-mile guns went through her, and through the other side of the world... because they're that powerful, right? But this wasn't a normal situation.
The guards could have had their guns already loaded, but they still had to turn from one angle to the other, shuffling clothing and equipment to do so, to make sure that the moving target isn't missed and fratricide doesn't go down on the books. The fact that she can hear better than a human and her entire power is based on sound, rhythm and motion... yeah, she heard them when they turned. This is the kind of thing she was moving slow and listening and looking for. Truthfully, she was expecting that someone with a sword would try and skewer her or a fireball would have been hurtling towards her, which would have been much more desirable and fun to deal with than a panicked military, as well as much more effective. Either way, a split second later after the guards turned to lock on her position, she heard the bullet deflect off of her clothes. Forget the sonic boom, it happened about the same time she was rolling her eyes at the situation. Forget the lights and torches or whatever, since they seemed not to happen- though the whatever-color-they-are lights let her know where they were... she just wouldn't have that extra half second or something to gasp? No, the eye roll was quite enough.
And she totally walked away from the gates while still maintaining invisibility, trying to figure out where else she could get some tea from. She also couldn't meet her dinner date, confound it all. Couldn't stick around here, they were probably going to keep shooting at her until she left or they ran out of bullets. FOR TEN MILES OR EVEN MORE- and she was going to start throwing bodies in the way if they were actually going to follow her.
"But they turned instantly and didn't bother to wait even .001 seconds before firing!" Well then with no aim on a moving target with a weaker heat signature than normal, one could expect the first shot to miss and knock off the next cart vendor's leg, while the one that followed a blink's time thereafter hit and was deflected. Same difference, she walks. "From 200 guards?" No, just from the selection in that one tower that's shooting at her. If one or two lone shooters (to throw a number out there) was all that saw and the turning and shooting was the notification to the other guards... because remember, killing comes first, screw common sense and alerting your allies... then the 2? gunners weren't a problem. It was going to be that second volley she had to worry about, and however many more as they eventually turned around to see who was getting shot at. The longer she stayed, the more dangerous the situating... which is why she was walking on out.
Maybe the guards could take some music lessons to see how fast a subdivided 4/8 with an 8th note taking 280 was, and after they combined notes on the matter, they could think about living in vacuums so that all sound was canceled, and fighting with lasers, which moved at the speed of light and well, she couldn't do much about that.
Buh-bye, enjoy your fear.

I'm going out, Red thought, and she changed into her street clothes, checked her weapons inventory, making sure not to forget her I.D. and headed out onto the streets of Lament, leaving the plastic bag with the items scattered about her room for now. She remembered this part of the announcement word for word: Quote: "Any abnormalities in proceedure will be met with lethal force. All Underground Officers will be permenantly stationed in the Underground section until the Lockdown is lifted. Any and all suspicious activity is to be reported and dealt with immediately. Standard Military warnings go out to any personel in the Underground Section. That is all." She thought she'd check things out if she could, hopefully bust a few heads open in the process.

The guards, their target buggering off, returned to their posts, and sent the word to other units that an attempt to enter the city had been made. The result was more guards being stationed around the perrimeter. Amazingly, the guards were unaffected by the tantrum thrown by their target, and continued to scan the area for threats with their realistic weapons. Anyone outside the gate wasn't much of a concern, as long as they were not behaving strangely. Heaven forbid reality be too much for the intruder. Perhaps they would be better off living in the Neighborhood of Make Believe than in the real world. The guards would continue to fire on targets as soon as they showed themselves, bypassing the regular opperation of the watchtowers unless absolutely necessary as per the orders given to them in the Lockdown Order. Ryugi Kazamaru No visitors will be granted access into or out of the city for any reason.
Any individual located within a military zone that is not military personel is to be terminated immediately without question. It seems the military had said exactly what they needed to say to clarify to any intruder exactly what was going to happen to them if they tried to set foot in Lament. Next time, maybe the intruder would actually bother to READ the bulletin instead of simply assuming the guard's activites. And somewhere, Spock cried for the defiance of logic.

Ryugi Kazamaru Next time, maybe the intruder would actually bother to READ the bulletin instead of simply assuming the guard's activites. The bulletin must have been posted on the ginormous locked door or something, because otherwise people outside the city would never have been able to read any bulletin. Hopefully the guards didn't start shooting on sight of anyone approaching the city, either, since that would make bulletin reading rather hard. People just arriving, or thinking of taking a vacation in Lament, would very likely be disallusioned at being shot at without warning, especially since the travel brochure (front page) said nothing in regards to a lockdown. The Narrator And somewhere, Spock cried for the defiance of logic.

Sniper Rifles Cartridge (Maximum effective range) 5.56 × 45 mm NATO (400–600 m ) .243 Winchester( 600 m ) 7.62 × 51 mm NATO (800–1,000 m) .300 Winchester Magnum (900–1,100m) .338 Lapua (1,200–1,500 m) .50 BMG (1,500– 2,000 m or more) Conversion In contemporary English contexts mile refers to either: statute mile of 1,760 yards (about 1,609 m) international nautical mile (exactly 1,852 m) U.S. survey mile (approximately 1,609. m ) The result of all this tableing and quoting was that allowing for the largest values on any measuring (a BMG with the normal max. effective range of 2 miles) the guards had weapons about as realistic as the reasoning for the lockdown. Durrrrr.
But that was neither here nor there anymore because some time later, when she was all alone with nobody in sight and nobody near in passing to see her and think she was being suspicious, and after she kicked awake her companions, she used Prophetas to see about establishing some kinda link to Decruda. It had seldom been used as such, since Prophetas was a skill of stealth. If her link was established at all, it would come in as a fuzzy picture, if you will.

You know, finding north and consequently east, south, and west, would probably be easier to do just by asking the man in charge. The spellsword took a seat by the table and spoke up, "So, which way is north?"
As for the message from Descant...
Decruda would recieve the message as he caught sight of a woman in his mind, the image disorted like as if static interference had infected a screen. He would want specific details on the matter as well as a simple message after he was filled in; "Return to the lair, await my order." If not, he'd have to organize the message to be delivered later, whether by magical means or by more mundane means.
However, he did take in the additional bit of information, never one to overlook small details. So apparently there was some terrorist attack and the entire city was locked down, nobody gets in or out, nobody moves from their current location. Well, he'd share this information with Gavin, but this little occurance wouldnt affect his individual plans at all. If anything, it made his job easier.
What kind of dumb terrorist blows up a single elevator shaft anyways?
*Added thought: Unless of course, it was the only way from the surface to the underground and vice versa.

Nothing seemed to be happening top side anymore, though she thought she had heard muffled sniper rounds in the distance. Ears like a ferret, but small ears, I mean hearing! Red found one of Lament's finest on patrol inside the city, they weren't all that hard to find. She pulled out her I.D. before hailing the officer.
"Hey you!" Red yelled, not feeling the overwhelming need to be diplomatic, "I had planned on leaving tonight, nothing seems to be happening up here, so why is the entire city in an uproar?"

Terrorist attack down below ground. The whole city is in Lockdown. No one enters or leaves the city. I'm sorry, but that all I can tell you. I suggest you stay indoors as much as possible. The Guard saluted and turned to continue his patrol.
