juxvi3t :Suri felt her hit land, but she did not wait to see where. Since Razil had landed and her zanpaku~to had hit, it meant that he was in a position to retaliate, and her back was turned to him. Suri twisted under her arm, causing her zanpaku~to to dig in a bit further before she pryed it out, facing Razil. At this point, he was probably prepared for whatever attack she would use, so Suri decided on basic combat, bringing her zanpaku~to to the side before slashing it diagonally, tracing an arc from Razil's right shoulder to his left hip. It would be easy for him to block, but it would allow her to get in position for her next move depending on what attack he used to follow up his next block.:
[[4/5]] (( Intro posts don't count. You start your first post by the first post in which you try to attack. Your last post was only [[3/5]] [[4/5]] ((my bad)) Razil felt the cold bite of steel in his arm, and adrenaline suddenly flooded his system, causing movements to slow down slightly, he could see the trajectory of her blade, and knew what he had to do...it was time to end this. He brought his sword up and met her attack, but instead of beating it away as per the usual, he used his wrist to siphon off the velocity of the strike by twisting his own sword in a circular pattern, so that hers was still against his. The motion drew their blades along each other and made sparks fly. Razil then pointed the sword straight out and around, entangling the two blades together and brought his point against about two inches away from Suri's neck, aware that the point of hers was the same distance from his own stomach. " better to kill and be possibly mortally wounded then the reverse" he thought, grimacing at the cut in his arm as some blood trickled from the wound, pooling t his feet. He wasn't a stranger to pain, so this was almost nothing...just another scar to add to the collection.

:While it was a dangerous position, Suri knew better than to let herself be scared by the cold steel ready to pierce inches from her neck. Since Razil had managed to tangle them, it would not allow him to dodge easily either.
Gripping tight to her hilt, Suri threw herself down, kicking her two feet out towards Razil's torso, effectively throwing her into a backflip position. It would be slightly easy for Razil step away from the kick, given that he did so in a direction that he did not pierce himself on the end of her zanpaku~to, but since their blades were intertwined the motion would jerk him forward into the ground. Suri was not stupid enough to delude herself with the thought that she had the strength to life Razil's weight from the ground and throw him down using twined swords. However, she could off-balance him as much as the kick would unbalance her, giving her a chance to untangle her zanpaku~to and regain her footing at the same time as her opponent.:

He stabbed his own blade into the ground to halt his forward momentum, dropped to the palm of his non-sword arm therefore letting his sword go and leaving it sticking up out of the ground. In the same motion he brought the hand that held the sword a second ago around, popped a hidden knife blade out of his sleeve and brought it against where the femoral artery ought to be, though it was hard to judge through the robes. " A good weapons master is never without a weapon" he thought, smiling wrily. He sat there panting, looking at Suri and wondering what she would say.

:Suri gave a slight smile at the last attempt, but she glanced at the sword he had stuck in the ground. Since she had not fully managed to untangle yet, it could be a hindrance to her depending on how fast he moved. Since Razil could not shunpo then, it was a bag sign for him. Nevertheless, it had been a well fought, albeit short, sparring match.
"Good job. There should always be a last resort, though it would be useless against an opponent who could shunpo. I don't have mine today, but I have my back-up weapons too," Suri nodded, giving no further insight as to what her back-up weapons would be. "However..."
With her zanpaku~to slightly stuck in the ground, tangled with Razils, Suri gave wrenched her wrist in a quick twist, causing her zanpaku~to to come free while sending Razil's blade flying. She caught it neatly by the hilt.
"Never let go of your zanpaku~to. Especially when the opponent has a way of reaching it before you possibly," she held out the zanpaku~to to Razil, having no intention of holding onto another person's zanpaku~to longer than necessary. "As for that move you executed earlier, where you did a flip in the air, there was a good way to have avoided being hit by me. Instead of attacking with your zanpaku~to next time, trying firing a kidou at your opponent. Even if your aim sucks and you've never used kidou yet, it should have some effect at point-blank range, and the momentum will send you out of your opponent's range.
Also, be wary of interlocking your zanpaku~to with your opponents. I said I would not use shikai this fight, but if you were against an opponent who decided to unleash shikai at that moment, you would have been weaponless quickly, dead at the worst. And like I demonstrated, it does not trap your opponent alone.
Other than that, I don't have many comments. You fight well without shikai, it's a strong suit. Too many people rely on that 'two month' goal to obtain their shikai and then activate it too quick. I personally hate shikai. Its a waste of reiatsu, so it takes away from your own strength. If you have any questions, I'll be glad to answer them.":
(( You're a really good RPer. I wouldn't mind fighting you again when you obtain an official seat or your shikai. ))

((doesn't one require the other? thank you though smile ))
Razil grasped his sword, blushing faintly at his mistakes. He slid his blade into it's sheath on his back, and only remembered his wound when he almost smeared blood all over his face. "I thank you for taking your time to spar with me." He said. "As for the lack of kidou, I am on a training regimen of my own creation. This week I am concentrating solely on the art of the blade, my theory is that if I master combat without kido and can defeat most opponents with only a sword, then when I actually do incorporate kido in battle I will become that much more proficient. This isn't to say though, that I am not practicing my kido." He looked at Suri gratefully, aprpeciative of the attention and praise, not to mention the tips. "I hope to become either Lieutenant of first squad or Captain of 11th. Would you happen to have any tips?"

:Suri shook her head, "I know that first has a lieutenant, and there's probably no chance you could take the spot (it's Daven's daughter). As for 11th, I have been wondering about the inactivity of that captain also. However, since it takes two months in order to obtain shikai, it would take far longer to get to a Captain spot. All the Captains I know have been active in the guild since the BSS days. I have too, and I have not gotten nearly as far. Being active is key. If you look at the guild member Crews, the Captains, almost all of them have at least 300 posts roughly.
Beyond that, train. If you can prove that you are an extremely adept role-player then the Guild Captain and Guild Vice-Captains would probably allow you to challenge a Captain one day. Good luck. If you want to spar again sometime, you can find me in the Vice-Captain office of 5th squad. I'm not planning on moving up in the ranks any time soon."
With that, Suri left, exiting the training grounds and returning back to her office to finish off some paperwork and get some rest. It had been a while since she had had a training match, and she had the feeling that she would be training a lot more shinigamis now that she was a lieutenant.:

Razil knelt in order to treat his wound and mull over what she had said. Granted, he had known it would take a while, but then again, don't most long-term goals? He stood, a fresh scar on his forearm, and walked out of the field into a new day.

Soru walked through the gates of the training grounds. Very suddenly, the sound of clashing metals, and heavy footsteps filled his ears. The distinct scent of sweat was a pungent aroma in this area. He remained still and silent, standing in the doorway. He peeked down at his Saatchi and stared. Thoughts of obtaining a zanpakuto made himself ran rampant through his mind.
Then he remembered what his uncle had taught him several years ago, "It is not the tool, but the wielder that makes wondrous works." He wished he kept to his own business on that fateful day, where he was taken off the realm of the living. How he missed his family, his friends, and his life before death.
With the clash of metal quickly reeling Soru back to reality, he found himself still staring deeply into his sheath at the gateway. He blinked twice, as if waking up from a dream. He took a moment more to reclaim himself from the daze.
Soru lifted his head and walked further into the training area. He stood in front of one of the straw training dummies. He locked his eyes where he presumed its head to be. Slowly, he unsheathed his Saatchi, and gripped it lightly in both hands. He lunged forward and chopped at the straw doll.
The crisp sound of the straw subtly rang in Soru's ears. The blade had entered through the neck and diagonally cut down only a few inches. He stepped back, and pulled the blade out from the straw doll. The cut was still visible, but only slightly. One would need to examine it carefully to notice its existence.
Soru set himself up for another lunge. He took a deep breath inward, and held the air in is lungs. He lunged again, exhaling the held breath. This time, he stuck his blade through its mid-section. The soft crackle of straw rattled through the surrounding area.
He stepped back once more and sighed as he thought, "I can only go so far, when fighting a straw doll."

((OOC: Don't be afraid to spar with me. I'm still working on my role playing skills, and it would be great if I got some practice with some other people.))
Soru stepped back, and continued his training. Sweating bullets and breathing heavily, he struck his target again in the mid-section. The hilt of his blade was drenched in sweat. He had been practicing on the same straw doll for hours. He thirsted for an opponent that would strike back and further increase the difficulty of his training, however not at the expense of unwillingly taking another person's time.
He backed away from the heavily wounded straw doll. In some of the cuts, the pole which held the doll up were shown to be almost as severely injured as the doll itself. Soru closed his eyes and felt the burning dryness that encompassed them. The sting of sweat only served to worsen the pain. He wiped his face with the sleeve of his uniform and opened his eyes again.
Soru would have continued to beat at the doll but found himself to be tired both mentally and physically. Slowly, he made his way to the cooling shade of the wall at the edge of the training grounds. He lay down and closed his eyes again, and was welcomed once more by the sting of sweat. He rested here for a long moment, regaining his strength.

(My my, what vocabulary. Not often do I in perticular se that kind of vocab being used)
-= Revlis had just passed by the training grounds. Hearing such great sounds it stopped him in his tracks. Popping his head out from the door, peering into the area. His ears flickered. Taking rather keen interest, he began to walk forth to investigate. Rather new to the whole place he was. His Zapakuto dangling from its sheath behind his, strapped to his belt from behind. Dangling down like another tail. His tail however concealed his weapon.=-
"My my... What do we have here?"
-=A slight grin began to form on his face. Unaware that someone else was in there as well. Walking forth to the straw dummy, he reached out with his right hand. His right armed bared the Dual Hound, strapped on.=-

((Please, I'm not worthy of such praise))
The sudden sound of footsteps awoken Soru from his light, drifting daze. He opened one eye to peer at who had passed by. To his surprise, the first thing about this person he noticed was, what appeared to be, a dark purple tail, much like that of an oddly colored fox.
Soru sat upright and rubbed his eyes to be sure his mind had not been playing tricks on him, but the tail remained. Upon further interest, he looked up to see two ears, pointed like a wolf's, and his head was covered in black, no very dark blue, hair.
He thought, "Surely, I must be dreaming," but even in his slumber, he did not believe such a creature could have come from his imagination. "Real or not, the fact remains that I see a shinigami."

Coming out onto the larger part of the training grounds, Michiko waited for the new recruit she'd offered to help gain a zanpaktou. Her hair was hanging loose today, her scarf on, but not tight, so her facial features were visible as it hung around her neck. Pushing back her long over grown bangs, she looked around patiently.

Running to the training grounds, Ringo stopped and pulled out a note that she got from the person at the gate. "Hmm, I was supposed to meet my teacher here," said Ringo "and her name was Michiko. I bet she must be pretty strong!"
