*Alex shook his head at her, laughing. She was something else, that's for sure*
Any, all, or any combination thereof, my dear. I am at your disposal.

:::she smiled, happy that she could make him laugh:::
Then let's start with the couch... we'll see if that turns into talking, and so on...
:::Cora struts over to it, leaving him a step behind because she knew how she looked in that outfit:::

*Alex grinned and followed. He waited for Cora to sit down before sitting himself, and popped open the wine, pouring a glass for each of them, and handing one to her*
So, what've you been up to?

:::Cora took a glass and clinked it to his before taking a sip:::
Well, I live in the Brink... so mostly just reading, exercising, and playing pool. But about what feels like a week or so ago, Luke brought me to his time again.
:::She smiled thinking back to it:::

*Alex laughed and took a sip of his wine*
Lucas Blaize. That kid... He's a real piece of work. I'd imagine that you had an awful lot of fun there, huh?

:::She sort of stares off, the smile not fading from her face:::
It never ceases to amaze me how much I have to learn about all the different times and cultures. And despite feeling a bit like an outsider, I have more fun in the couple days while I'm in Luke's time than perhaps the rest of my life, collectively.

We should do some stuff too next time. We could always catch a broadway show. Shopping. Hell, there's so much to do... You know.. I wonder if you wouldn't be interested in visiting a museum.

:::She smirked:::
Technically this is a museum... :::she motioned with her head all around them::: it's just more hands on.
I did get to go shopping while I was in Luke's time. At first I wasn't sure what to do with myself because Luke left me with his friend Aimee. But she showed me everything... Towards the end I was having a great time. And she must have done a good job because when the boys saw me in my new 21st century clothing, they nearly dropped dead.
:::She beamed almost proudly at her own and Aimee's feminine powers:::

*Alex laughs*
It was a good feeling, huh? All the guys looking at you? Hey, not that I can blame them. Enough to make a guy jealous. We should definately go shopping. I could keep you a wardrobe here, because lord knows I have the room.
*Alex took ahold of Cora's hand and began running his finger back and forth slowly over the top of it, almost unconciously*
He's a lucky guy, getting to spend so much time with you.

::She glances back at Alex and examines his face:::
Well, after this visit, I'll have visited both of you twice. Though he does appear in the Brink more often than you... Not that any of us can help it though. :::She smirks again:::

*Alex leaned his head back on the couch and let out a deep sigh*
Yeah. A mixed bag, I suppose.
*He closed his eyes and tried not to grimace at the thought of the place*

:::But Cora mistook his discomfort for something else, and cradled into his side to comfort him:::
Well... when it comes to how much of me there's time to spend with, Luke isn't nearly as 'lucky' as you. :::she smiled:::

That makes ME the lucky one, then.
*Alex suddenly got very serious*
Cora... Can I ask you... Would you tell me about Tavin?

:::Cora is taken aback a bit by the sudden seriousness of his expression, and of the topic which seemed to stem from out of nowhere:::
The Captain..? :::it takes her a moment to shift gears in thought, but shortly she begins to stroke her fingers through the hair over his head where his cat-ear would be:::
He's troubled a lot of the time... even though he likes to hide it behind that smile of his. I know he cares very much about the Brink of Time, and about me, and about you...

*Alex frowns*
He didn't save us.
*He looked at the floor, anywhere but in her eyes. This was already a difficult thing to talk about*
You know I'm never going to see them again, my mom and sister. Its been so long... but it doesn't stop hurting. I've never stopped missing them. That's...
*Alex wasn't certain how to continue*
.... you feel that way too, don't you. The people that you knew in your time?
