Now that she knew what sort of puppet she would be attempting to craft she needed to read a bit more about them. Finding one of the sketches she knew she have seen a few of this type in her father's workshop. She also noted that her right leg seemed to be one from an Attacker puppet, since it was the lightest out of all the puppets and the most human-like.

It wasn't long that she was able to find the section over the Attacker type puppets. "Attacker-type puppets are characterized as high-speed models used specifically to attack a ninja's opponents. While the damage done by these attacks is relatively low, it's designed to be inflicted repeatedly and usually from a distance. The emphasis for these models is speed and weaponry to increase the power and frequency of the puppet's attacks."

Now that she knew about the purpose of the Attacker-type puppet, all she needed now was the basic knowledge in its construction. What sorts of materials would I need to use? Do I have the tools to do something like this? How much would it actually cost me? She half wished she had her father here so she could get an opinion from him. She didn't know how much planning actually went into the making of one puppet.

However as she was pondering all these things she lost her place on the scroll. She bit down on her thumb again as her finger skimmed across the scroll, trying to find where the information for the Attacker-type puppet went to.

After a while she was able to find her spot again, reading over the same information that she did previously. She gave a small sigh as she tried to understand the multiple paragraphs of words in order to make it simpler for herself. It would probably made more sense if she wasn't just a student and if she was an actual ninja. Even if it didn't help a lot it would help regardless.

The text was complex and worded strangely, making it difficult to get what useful information she wanted out of the scroll. She rubbed her eyes, hoping she didn't need to get glasses for straining her eyes over this.

Shifting in her seat, Mizuki tried to see if she could gleam any information from the few pictures that were included with the text. Most of them seemed to be the basic anatomy for some of the puppets, but she could find anything about materials used for them. Her jaw dropped when she saw something about material, "Two hundred pounds of steel? For one puppet?" Backtracking through the scroll she realized that she was looking at the material list for a different type of puppet. "That's a relief...but where is the material list for an attacker-type puppet?"

Come on scroll...just show me what I need for this puppet. She looked around, wondering if there was any staff on duty that didn't look too busy. However she couldn't seem anyone around except for herself. She turned back to the scroll, skimming through the entire scroll in order to find the materials. It would make sense that the puppet would be made out of something light, like wood. The real question was how much would it take.

Finally she was able to find how much quality wood it would take to make one attacker-type puppet. "Fifty pounds of wood...that doesn't sound too bad." Continuing to read it, Mizuki was able to see there was more needed beside the wood, "Along with weapons I would need to build a launcher so it would be able to fire the weapons...sounds like that'll cost a bit as well."

Now that Mizuki found everything she needed about crafting a puppet, she thought it would be a good idea for her to copy the information down so she had it for a later use when she actually got the money for it. She walked over to the front desk, borrowing a well of ink, a brush, and a small scroll. She walked over to the desk she was working at, moving the scroll to the side so she wouldn't risk getting ink on it as she started to write her notes.

She frowded a bit as she had some trouble copying the notes, since she was so focused on keeping ink away from the original she nearly tipped over the well of ink. She steadied it, but wondered if she couldn't get someone else to copy it for her. But on the other hand, she didn't want to be a bother to the other people trying to work here.

She carefully wetted the tip of the brush with ink and started to copy the sections she needed. She made small shorthands notes first, so just in case she did mess up on copying the larger section she would be able to understand her mistakes. After writing up her shorthand notes she started to copy the sections of the scrolls.

She managed to copy half of the introduction in the scroll over the Attacker-types puppets. While her handwriting wasn't the best, she would be able to read it later. "I'm glad my writing isn't too bad." She reviewed the section she just wrote down, making sure everything was correct. "Okay then...on to the next part." But the question was what should she write down next.

She started to write the other half of the introduction to it, hoping that she didn't tip the ink well. While writing she made sure she was able to read every part of her writing. She finished the rest of introduction, her handwriting a bit neater that what she was when she first started. Perhaps it was because she wasn't so worried about spilling the ink. Her writing now seemed more natural, like if she was casual writing down her thoughts instead of feeling like a teacher was over her shoulder and watching her write every word down and judging it. She scanned the scroll and started to work on the next part over the equipment and tools she needed.

Starting on the next part of her paper she noticed how it spoke about what she was writing was only brief guildlines and that she could do whatever it was when it came to its basic form and weaponry. She thought back on her father's workshop the first time she entered it. She was scared to death over the puppets, thinking they were demons or monsters, and perhaps that was the point. To unnerve your opponent when they fight against you. Before she even realized it she was finished with the next section of her notes. Going to the library seemed like the best thing for her at the moment. If she didn't train her mind and body she would soon forget all that she learned at the Academy so far.

More than half way done, Mizuki thought it would be a good idea if she went and copied a few of the pictures while she was at it. But that would serve a different problem. She didn't think she would be able to copy the complex pictures, but maybe she could just copy the simple things about it and not go into full detail. However trying to see what was important in the picture, and what wasn't was about as hard as finding the useful information from the text she was reading before. It seemed to be an artist's drawing of one puppet, noting the complex inner workings along with its basic shape. She didn't even know how she was about to understand this. She frowded deeply, wondering how she was going to sort through this mess.

Mizuki sighed as she cleaned the tip of the brush, setting it down and placing the stopper back on the ink well as she stared at the pictures. It looked like it was trying to show her how to install one of the launcher, but then again she could be wrong. She bit down on her thumb again as she looked at the big picture that it was trying to show her. There was going to be a lot of parts to the puppet. Why is this giving me so much trouble? It's just a picture...

"Maybe you're making this more complex than what it need to be..."

She turned around quickly, half wondering if her father was her. She giggled slightly to herself as she thought of it. Her dad made the most complex problems work the simplest of solutions, and maybe that was what her problem was with this right now..

She looked at the picture again, thinking on how she was making it too complex in her mind. "There's an easy solution here somewhere." She paused for a moment as she looked at the picture as a whole, wondering if that would give her a new view on it. She paused as she stared at the picture, then she saw what she was looking for. There were some similarities with how the limbs of the puppet's worked with the launcher that made it like the human's arm with muscle. Thinking about the puppet in terms of the human body made it a lot easier to understand and copy the pictures. She understood why her father was so passionate about working on them. It wasn't like crafting a weapon, it was almost like creating a new person to some degree. She started to copy down the picture, smiling that she was able to find a solution to it.

Mizuki looked through the scroll, quickly seeing if there were any more parts that she needed to write down for future use. After drawing the picture, listing equipment needed, and basic structure of the puppet, it didn't seem like there was much more needed. She paused for a moment, seeing a note that while wood would make the puppet lighter to move that there was an alternate material she could use to make the puppet, aluminum. She read a little of the lightweight metal and decided that it was enough of an important note that she could add it to her notes. After writing down the last of her notes she returned the original scroll back on the shelve where it belong.
