(Cheerio! And now I shall make an American Girl appear who shall make the above 2 posts...DISAPPEAR!)

Bread? FOOD! Ignoring the pessimistic voice in the back of his head, who was going on about how the bread could be poisoned, he stumbled over to where Healer and Hood were and eagerly took his piece and scoffed half of it down, choking slightly and staring at the remaining half, eyes widening with surprise and-scarily enough- wonder.

"I've never had...such soft, delicious bread before in my life! The smoothness! The texture! Some other word to its awesomeness!" Tears of joy and manliness trailed down his cheeks as he began-oddly enough- worshipping Healer and saying things such as "Oh you kind, kind beautiful woman! Thank you, THANK YOU!"

The Hood (sounds like a...hero? Yes that's what she had called them...) had summoned his ******** magic- and was playing around with it. He had said something in some sort of language, -like hell he'd know, he wasn't bilingual- and was probably watching this odd display bemusedly.

This odd worshiping behavior came to a screeching halt however, when he noticed the absence of the Leader. s**t. He had spent to much time following the suspicious- now potential hero- Hood, who he had thought was keeping an eye on her. Had he lost sight of her, noticed Healer -another possible hero- and sat down with her, hoping Leader would come by later like those lost kids did back at home?

Maybe.

His chewing became much slower, not only because the bread was starting to become a b***h to swallow, but his sudden remembrance of his old home. It was like someone was trying to add in extra lines to fit in with the sizes of everyone else's so he wasn't the odd one out.

He shook his head firmly. Such thinking was so out of character for him. Besides, the old man was probably dead now and the other one was probably out protecting people from guys like...well him.

He shook his head, a strange feeling of satisfaction flowing through him as he scanned the room. If anyone here could read his mind (They were elves, they could probably do something like that) they would probably be confused as hell.

"Character development for the win" he mumbled through a mouth full of bread.

(Yes, there is going to be some stupid story behind Falconer here now. I've got it in my head somewhere behind all the porn. They'll be bits and pieces of it being "recalled" throughout this RP. And I had the smallest amount written about my background!

HA! In other news, I'm getting my character a ******** spear. Sometime soon.)

Laquemil….it was an interesting name. Maybe a little odd, but Doina and Agceil were odd name too. Atleast outside the traditions of her village. She took another piece of the bread and chewed it, it was actually getting easier to swallow the more she ate from it.

Though that wouldn’t be a very assuring thought if Laquemil knew of her past. When she had first started as an apprentice to Blodeuwedd…she has mispronounced the older woman’s name so many times that Blodeuwedd had forced her to memorize her name. Hopefully it wouldn’t be the same with Laquemil.

It felt weird talking about Blade to this man. She didn’t know much about Blade, only what the woman told her and what she saw from her fighting skills. So all she knew was that Blade had fire and shadow powers, she liked jewelry and she could play music….

‘Yeah…you know tons about the person you’ve entrusted your life to….’

But Blade and the others didn’t know too much about her either. Falconer came over and took his piece. Doina raised a brow at the…gratitude he showed for the bread. She blushed and smiled waving the compliments off.

“It was no problem. Laquemil gave it to me so all thanks should be given to him.”

She made a quick introduction between them, switching to elfin when speaking to Laquemil. She finished her half of the bread and sighed, leaning against the wall. So what were they to do now? What for Blade to recover and then plan where to go next? Thinking on Blade she wanted to check up on her. Standing up, she began to feel some of her energy return to her…though slowly.

She switched to Human and spoke to Falconer.

“And can you go and see Silver and Seraphris are doing? And where Leon is…I think they might have went back to Silver’s house.”

Fal sighed and ran a hand through his hair. "There will have to be a council meeting. You all will have to explain these spawn and-."

"No." Fal turned and looked at his Hawk in amazement as he continued to protest, "There is no need. If this paltry group of fighters can defeat one of them, then our village is fine."

Furious, Silver stood up on weakened legs. "And what kind of figher do you take me for?" she demanded of the male elf. "If I remember right, I kicked you all over the practice fields growing up, when I still couldn't control my leg. How do you think you would fair now?"

"Is that a challange?" Fal asked. Silver paused and looked at him unsurely. "Silver, as a Hawk your word on a threat is more valued than as a Lark." Sighing, Silver couldn't help but nod her head and accept her own challange. Fal nodded and turned to leave, saying over his shoulder, "Then we will see you at the practice fields in the morning. Should you defeat Black Hawk, you will become a Hawk yourself and be put in charge of protecting the village from the spawn." Sighing, he turned and left the house, expecting his Hawk to follow him.

Black, however, had his own thoughts, and put on a show of steadying her by grabbing her elbow and invading her personal space to whisper in her ear, "I am not a weakling like your little friend, whore." His eyes locked on Seraphis so she would know who he spoke of when she turned to look at him with wide eyes. "I will gladly send you to Isolde and back, then insure that you can never return to this village." Practically pushing her away, he turned and followed his leader out.

Silver managed to grab the sofa on her way down, keeping her at least partly up, though her legs crumbled underneath her. She glared at the now closed door. "I can't figure out what I ever did to him..." she muttered, letting out a puff of air to get a strand of hair out of her face. Her and Black Cr-Hawk, she corrected herself, had never gotten along, since their respective name days. As he had gotten older, he had gotten nastier to her. It had never made any sense.

Serpahis stood as a mute witness to the following exchange. He struggled to follow what was happening around him. The customs of this village were somewhat foreign and strange to him, especially considering that it was a village full of elves. Battles for rank hardly ever occurred amongst human settlements anymore. It was a practice that he had thought the elves would have left behind long ago. He didn’t think it barbaric, though. Quite the contrary, Seraphis found the practice to be quite practical. It always ensured strength and discipline in military ranks when soldiers were required to prove themselves in armed combat. These were elves of a much older breed, indeed. In that moment, many more things about Silver became clear to Seraphis.

Then, Black Hawk made his move to invade Silver’s space. Seraphis was tempted to move forward in her defense, but stopped himself. She had just issued a challenge. He would not disgrace her by attempting to fight her battles for her. Not now, at least. He caught Black’s gaze and returned it with a glare of his own. He only heard parts of the whispers, enough to gather what Black had said. If looks could kill, surely Black Hawk’s head would have been set ablaze by Seraphis’ glare and it would have smoldered until it were nothing more than a shrunken, unrecognizable, charred mass. Amongst the more powerful mages, looks could indeed kill. It was something that Seraphis had read about, but never put into practice. The ability to cast spells without the aid of incantations or gestures. He had tried it before with some success, but it required a larger amount of effort on the part of the caster. It was far too taxing to be practical in battle, so he had never employed the use of the skill. Still, it gave him an idea... His lips curled into a devious smile as he thought of how he might avenge his and Silver’s honor. It wasn’t his intent to kill, but he would make certain that Black Hawk would lose the fight tomorrow. He watched as Black followed Fal out the door. There was nothing but to wait now. He moved to Silver’s side and helped his love to her feet. Rather than letting go of her hand, he squeezed it a bit and said softly, “Don’t worry, Silver. You will make a fool out of him tomorrow. I’m certain of it.” Yes... Seraphis was determined to see to that personally.

Leon was already slightly intoxicated. Through the exchange he had had quite a few drinks and his vision was only slightly blurred. He then tipped the jug back and nothing came out. He looked into the black depths of the jug and sighed as he saw that the thing was empty. Luckily for this "Hawk" person, Leon had been too busy contemplating the bottom of his bottle to go and defend his friend's honor.

As the people left, he sighed as he saw the look on Seraphis' face. "You, my mage friend, are obviously not used to the art of a duel for title. No outside spells are allowed, and sometimes, not even during the fight. Aside for a lack of following the rules, it is considered rude. So after the duel is when I would recommend you do something, if that is indeed necessary." he said, getting up and stretching, letting the strong alcohol flow through his body. "Silver, I have two suggestions. First, up your protection. You have one body guard that is always with you. I was around long enough to see him. I would suggest adding Seraphis to that count. Not only that, but I would be happy to help with your protection, which leads me to my next suggestion. I would like to train you, tonight. I know you're tired, which is the perfect time to train. I may be no good against spawn, but give me something that bleeds blood, and I reasonably sure that I can kill it, and I'm reasonably sure that I can teach you, that is, if you feel it is necessary." he said as he shook off the drops of water left in his fur from the melted ice. "I'll make sure that you sleep enough to fight well tomorrow either way. I know a thing or two about herbs. They tend, I know just the one to half the necessary time of sleep."
PostPosted: Sun May 11, 2008 7:11 pm

Silver couldn't help but smile and squeezed Seraphis's hand in return. "I'm sure as well." She sighed before she answered Leon. "I'm afraid training won't do any good. I haven't a single sword in the house, and Rose has mine. I'll have to fetch them in the morning. With swords, I know I can beat him. The only experience he has is in the practice fields, against other guards. He won't stand a chance against my own skills." A bitter quirk of her lips showed that she had seen more than her fair share of true battles. "If I lose my swords, then I'll have to use my daggers. If I lose them, the battle will be over. I can't fight hand to hand, my leg won't allow it." A twinge of her muscles alerted her to the weakness that still lingered there. "What I need now is rest and a warm press for my leg. I won't be able to move tomorrow, otherwise."

Brushing a strand of hair behind her ears, she looked to the stairs. "The others will be here soon," she thought out loud quietly, her voice almost inaudible. "Or at least Doina and the kid, Falconer. There's a bed set up in each room..." She paused as she tried to figure this out. The two coming, plus Leon, her, and Seraphis equaled five. The temple would keep Blade, she was sure, because of the injuries she had seen the human woman sustain. She absolutely refused to allow anyone to sleep on the couches; she knew from experience that sleeping on them was not restful at all. But that left her a bed short... Two people would have to share the bed in the master bedroom, but the question was, who?

"Very well, it is your choice. Later I could probably teach you how to actually use your bad leg to fight. But not even I can do that in a night, and you do need to be mobile tomorrow. I'm going to go check on Blade. I'm guessing she's at the temple. I'll be back soon, I just want to see how badly she injured herself this time." he said as he hooked his now empty and corked jug on his belt and grabbing his naginata from the hall. "See you in an hour or so." he said as he exited the house. The rubble was still strewn all over the place and the villagers still worked tirelessly in the twilight of evening. The magical lights had been recreated and a few torches could also be seen. In the back of his mind, Leon wondered if the bar or tavern of whatever these people had that served alcohol was still alright. He began his way towards the temple.
PostPosted: Sun May 11, 2008 9:42 pm

Seraphis gave a friendly nod toward Leon as the Ibixian left the house. Despite his friendliness toward Leon, Seraphis was slightly unnerved by him. The way he had spoken before... It was almost as if he could read Seraphis' thoughts. Seraphis promptly shook it off, though. Perhaps his face betrayed a bit more than he thought. Rules or no, Seraphis was not about to let Black Hawk get away with the things he had said. Still... Silver was a big girl and she could take care of herself. He decided that he would not intervene unless he thought it was necessary. He had a few tricks up his sleeve. A list of possibilities formed in his head. Very effective, yet subtle enough not to be seen or traced... But he was getting ahead of himself. Better to let the matter rest for now. He trusted himself to know what to do when the time came.

Seraphis had had enough excitement for one day besides. He could feel his fatigue catching up with him again. He knew that his face must be registering it as well. Resting his gaze on Silver again, he smiled. It had been quite a day. A grand celebration, the defeat of a spawn, and now this. He had barely had time to register it before, but now that all was still again, he allowed the realization to fully sink in. She loved him... She really loved him! Even now, he could scarcely believe it. He just stood and gazed at her for a moment while she contemplated...something. Just what was she thinking about anyway?

"What's on your mind, love?" he asked Silver.

Shrugging in response to Healer's question, he got up, shoved the rest of the bread into his mouth and walked out the large temple door, hands in his pockets as he surveyed the damage the Spawn had done to the village.

Puddles of water and melting ice were still around. Attempting to dry his T-shirt and failing, he put the stupid wet thing back on and walked down the stairs towards the general direction of Sword's house...Silver? He shrugged and continued on.

Some time later, after popping up several times in the wrong houses and scaring several Elven Children. One time, a pair of elves shoved passed him, one looking pissed as hell, following another slightly familiar looking elf. He put it off as a simple "all elves look the same" and continued on, arriving at the house of Sword's, knocking on the door patiently and waiting, shivering and grumbling about the coldness of the place.

"I'm going to get a ******** cold at this rate."

She would be sure to remember his name? Ah, he hoped so. His name wasn't difficult to pronounce, but it was a bit long and not very common. Usually people either remembered his name almost flawlessly or couldn't remember it to save their lives. Couldn't be helped, of course. Laquemil's silver eyes went a little wide at the vigor that the boy had eaten the bread. As for the praise.... ' Poor thing. Honestly. One of the corners of Laquemil's mouth twitched, eyebrows pushing together in mild amusement and oddity.

"" Laquemil responded softly, glancing up to take a look at the boy's face before returning his gaze to the mask he was still holding. Falconer took off somewhere, although he wasn't sure where as he couldn't understand what the boy was saying. "" his voice trailed off and he turned himself to try and figure out which direction they had taken Feritae in. A few moments later he could feel a small spark of her presence and lifted up a pale finger in the direction he'd felt her in. ""

He lowered both his hand and his head, putting his mask back on and shutting his eyes. ""

With that said he let out a soft breath, searching for the familiar black and yet warm soul that was lingering at a separate place from him. Soon after he found it, and with a soft tugging he was connected.

""

""

"you think I feel, sunshine?>"

""

""

For a few moments silence passed between the minds, and he could feel that Feritae's energy was waning. ""

Laquemil pointed in the direction Blade was taken and she nodded, bowing to him slightly. She walked in that direction, carefully maneuvering around everyone in the temple. Some elves had left but others still remained, whether they were still frightened from the Spawn’s appearance or their homes were destroyed.

She kept walking until she came to a cleared corner of the temple. Well it clearer than the rest of the temple but it help Blade and several other healers. The other woman was asleep and there were two healers around her. One was checking her bandages and rewrapping those that needed changing. The other was trying to use their magic to mend some more of the cuts but so far hadn’t made any progress.

“It’s not going to work. Her body is…resistant most magics.” Doina said as she came over.

She looked down at Blade and looked over the work the other elves did. They did a good job, they had wiped clean the blood and had stripped Blade of her ruined dress. She covered with blankets to keep her warm and hide her exposed top.

“Make sure to keep her warm and keep her away from the light until she wakes up.” she told them, remembering Laquemil’s words.

She looked after Blade for a few more minutes. What was in store for them now? They would probably stay for a few more days, the heal, explain everything to the village and help with damage control maybe. Would Silver stay with them when they left? This was her home after all. And if Silver decided to stay Doina was sure Seraphris would stay with her….

‘I don’t mean to think selfishly but I hope that she doesn’t decide to stay. We need both her and Seraphris for the other Spawn.’

Excusing herself she walked back towards where Laquemil was. She was going to see if the white mage was still there. Then she was going to head to Silver’s house and change and get a change of clothes for Blade.

"Hm? Oh, just trying to figure out where everyone is sleeping," she told him, her voice still soft. "I can't figure out how I can make it work; we're a bed short, and I can speak from experience that the couches aren't comfortable. So that means two will have to share the master bedroom..." she blushed as her rambling tappered off. She really was tired, to speak of such random concerns to someone, even if she did care for them. The knock at the door saved her from further embaressment. "It's open," she called, knowing the exact volume and pitch to use for her voice to be heard through the door without hurting Seraphis's ears. Her legs wavered under her; if she didn't go to bed soon, she would collapse again.

Laquemil was still in the same spot, head bent over, in his own way of sleep. He could sense the various auras of life in the room and was already starting to feel claustrophobic. Normally he could last at least a couple of hours in a place like this, but the people were unfamiliar to him and his lack of energy made him feel more vulnerable than usual.

Then, a familiar presence was making its way over to him. It was Doina. He opened his eyes, slowly, and lifted his head up just in time to see the bottom of her ripped dress come into view. '' It really did look like a nice dress, but with that rip... well, with those types of clothing and material it would be nearly impossible to repair. Unless Doina somehow managed to find a seamstress who used magic. Those, however, were usually very rare and very expensive. With the costs that they ran it would probably be better just to buy a new dress entirely, unless it was especially important.

"" Laquemil stated once Doina was close enough, lifting his head up just enough for her to probably see his lips and maybe the bottom of his nose. "" Even though his efforts to keep her as healthy as possibly was probably ironic and maybe even cruel, he had to do it. How could he call himself a white mage and not help her? It would be... there wasn't even a word to describe it. ""
PostPosted: Fri May 16, 2008 5:23 pm

Oh good, he was still there. Doina wasn’t sure what she would have done if he wasn’t there. She probably would have gone back to Silver’s house. When she came upon him she noticed that he looked at the bottom of her dress. She glanced down at the ripped material and sighed. She really did like this dress. Doina had a lot of costumes when she was traveling with the Sisterhood of Itare. And each was special and very colorful, this dress was one of the few she had from her village. Besides normal work clothes, her family wasn’t wealthy enough to afford the different pretty dresses she wanted.

She only had two, the green dress that was ruined, and a special ceremony dress. A dress that she never really got to wear before it was destroyed along with her home. Pushing away that somber memory she looked down at Laquemil. Ah did she looked tired? She knew that she was but worrying about Blade had made her push her fatigue to the back of her mind. But now that she was alright….

She nodded at Laquemil and bowed to him.

She bowed one last time before turning away and headed out of the temple. She would like to take a bath now but she didn’t really feel like going to get the water and then having to heat it up. On her way to Silver’s house she saw the form of Leon heading in the direction she just came from.

“Leon!”

Leon was shaken from his somber thoughts at a familiar voice calling his name. "Doina! I was just going to go see if you were alright. Silver is preparing sleeping arrangements before going to bed herself. It sounds like she has a duel tomorrow morning. It's a pity, but some people here don't seem to be very fond of her at the moment. These people seem to think the spawn are just a bed time story. How is Blade faring?" he said, all he wanted to talk about out there in a rush of words. He was feeling a little better, he just hoped that Doina didn't mention the fight.
