Howling Wolf Rain

but dismissed it as she began padding through the coarse briers and weeds, the occasional flower making itself known to her sensitive nose.

A sharp, haunting voice echoed behind the wolf as the faint flapping of feathers also entered the soundtrack of the forest.

"How far?
How far?"

A white owl landed gracefully on the back of said wolf, grey beak clicking indiginantly at the mammal that was currently ignoring the large avian. Pristine white feathers ruffled in a flustered manner, the large bird proceeded to pull unhappily at the silver fur of the wolf's back.

Insistant on attaining the full attention of the rapidly trotting wolf, the she-bird screeched loudly in the general direction of the wolf's black-tipped right ear. Pale white face mirroring her frustration, the normally beautiful owl continued to chatter and screech her fury to the now sulking wolf beneath her.

"Why?
Why?"

Looking at Avrora as he watched her curl her arm around Lans "I'll ummm go check what is being reported by Carmen..." slowly beginning to walk past them as he kept his eyes fixed on the two as he made his way into the lodge, Brutus made his way up the staircase only to walk into the room where Scrat was with Mudae "Lan and Avrora are starting to give me the creeps..."

"Oh? ...Why do you say that?"

"Well Lan gave me this creepy look as if I was planning something, and Avrora, well..... they just creep me out."

"I don't think they really meant anything by it..."

"How would you know, you been up here watching this girl who was planning to have you for dinner."

Walking down the stairs from the second floor to the first, she passed the other vacant rooms in order to enter Mudae's room where she heard Brutus and Scrat talking.
"No way of disagreeing with you Brutus; Avrora bothers me. However, with Lan I can assure you that he meant nothing by it. Don't think to heavily on them, alright? Take one of the empty rooms and get some sleep."
She offered quietly as she leaned against the door frame.
"Scrat, you too. I'm going to be cooking dinner soon, either of you have any specific cravings?"
Looking down at Mudae, who had curled into a ball and was now sleeping, she walked over towards the window the overlooked the lake and the woods on the other side of said body of water. Ears pointed forwards, she raised the glass and sniffed the breeze that entered the room.
" Someone is coming towards here. I don't think that they will pose a threat, but I want you soldiers on some level of alert for safety purposes."
Her tails rested on the window sill as she turned to look at the two men again. Hands naturally moving to her obi, she tightened it as she looked back at the lake.
"Smells like something foreign."

Scrat raised his hand, waving it towards the kistune. "Um Hello, Saku, Ma'am." He stared at her as he stroked Mudae's head, only to let his hand run down to her back, repeating. "Are you sure it isn't us your smelling, for we haven't really been here very long."

He rolled his eyes at the boy. "No you Idiot, she is speaking of something else."

"Oh heh heh my bad." Quickly looking back to Saku, he continued. "Its not another one of those..." His gaze went down at Mudae then back to the Kitsune. " Man eating monsters are they?"

"Avrora?" Lan tilted his head, staring at her for a few minutes, Lan slowly lifted his gaze up to the window as he noticed Saku staring towards the lake before he turned wondering what had her attention.

She shook her head, inwardly sighing at the questions the young mechanic posed. "I don't really know what it is, but it's not usually here. That is all I know right now."
She looked down at her kimono and realised that she had tightened her obi so much that her knife had cut through the thin material on the other side and gashed her stomach rather violently. Not caring very much, even as the red blood stained through both the grey kimono and the light blue obi, it's explosion of color slowly running down her front, she continued to talk to the two men.
"What would you like to eat? We have pretty much everything."

"I'm Okay right now, but thank you Ms. Saku."

Walking into the Lodge only to make his way up the stairs, Lan looked over towards the three only to give a kind smile "Good Afternoon everyone." Looking over towards Scrat watching him as he continued to hold Mudae on his lap, Lan began to step in the room only to look at Brutus noticing him being a little uncomfortable before he turned his gaze to Saku.

Nodding faintly to acknowledge his statement, she let her gaze drop to the floor as well as her head. Small sounds of exasperation leaked from her mouth as she continuously rubbed the floor, where blood had dripped off of her outfit and had begun staining the oak, using the backside of her kimono as a mop. Raising an eyebrow in sheer bewilderment directed at her side, the one from which the blood was rolling from. Honestly now, was that much blood necessary to simply alert her of a blade impaling the flesh from within which she thrived? She hardly thought so, her tails running out of parts of the hem to scrub with. The blood wouldn't stop; Drip. Her tails sprung to action. Drip. Repeating the process, her tails moved to another bit of kimono cloth. Drip. Dear kami! How much blood did that little cut wish to spout? The whole predicament was becoming ridiculous in her eyes.

Pushing into what seemed to be a poorly made and seldom traveled path, the wolf sighed audibly and sat down abruptly amongst a rather large patch of clovers and dandelions; her movements startling the large white bird atop her back into viciously flapping her wings and screeching a tad bit louder than the rest of the owl's rampage. Ears pressed to her scalp, she turned her head to look at the irritable fowl straight in the face with one cool, black eye.

"Katya, Why would I have stayed there? "

This statement seemed to hush the angry bird, as the noises from the wings ceased. Shuffling her white appendages nervously, the owl side stepped her way back up the spinal ridge of the wolf until her taloned feet rested on her shoulders, gripping her fur tightly.

"Sorry Zhenya,
Sorry Zhenya."

This gained a nod and a forgiveness nuzzle from the wolf as Katya hid her head beneath her wing. Standing up slowly, Zhenya continued her explanation to why they had gone so far, and how far she meant to go.

"The further I get from that place, the better. It haunts me enough being this far away, being there would be unbearable. I plan to go into this forest towards an area that smells fairly populated. I'm sure we can find information on a nice mountain to go to, in there at least."

Resuming her silent padding through the coarse shrubbery, she ducked down a bit more to accommodate the feathery protrusion as she made a beeline to the heart of the forest.

Ashamed at herself for being so uncaring, she clung to the back of the mammal beneath her quietly and kept her eyes and beak shut as Zhenya pushed and slunk through the bushes and weeds that made up the floor of the gargantuan forest that they had managed to become engulfed in. After about ten minutes of sheer boredom, Katya Finally opened her eyes; her head tilted so that her eyes were nearly in a perfect perpendicular line with the ground.

"Good, you are awake Katya. I smell water, and lots of it. We've gotten quite close to our designated rest point. About five minutes and we should be there."

Fluffing her feathers up to let the humid air in, she straightened her head and stood up to her full height in order to survey her surroundings.

"Odd,
Odd?"

She spoke softly, her beak snapping shut after each word.

"Be shunned,
Be shunned?"

Feathers smoothed considerably, she lunged at a tree from atop the wolf's back, her wings falling into a rhythm of flapping in order for her to stay her course. Talons cutting into the tree bark, in one fell swoop she had snapped up a tiny mouse from the base of the tree; the little squeak disappearing into the beak and esophagus of the owl before she flew back to Zhenya. Just as she got situated on the lower back of her friend, bright light that didn't penetrate the canopy of the forest shown in her face; Zhenya had bounded up to a high point in the rocky structure that she had been trotting upon. Blinking to let her powerful eyes adjust to the sudden change in lighting, she soaked up the sight of a sparkling lake and waterfall in contrast to the green and leafy previous scenery that had taken up her view for nearly an entire hour.

"Wow,
wow."

Answering the previous statements of the large feathery animal, she stretched on the top of the boulder before jumping off of it and making her way across the beach to the actual water.

"We will hide our natural forms until we decide if they can be trusted. No need to shun what they don't know about. They shouldn't treat us any weirder than normal travelers."

Turning his head noticing Dally making his way past the door, Lan tilted his head as he heard his foot steps going down the the steps only then to hear as the tavern door closed.

Streching on the porch before stepping out into the moon light Dally, turned his head looking towards the border line of the forest only to listen to the sounds of frogs, crickets and birds as he felt like he was being watched from the shadows "hmmm?"

Howling Wolf Rain

Looking up from the water, she shifted nervously on the wolf's back. Her feathers began to raise as she stared straight into the eyes of a human; a male human who seemed to be staring at them. Clicking her beak quietly, she shook her tail in apprehension before bending over and whispering into her friend's ear.

"Zhenya - a human,
Zhenya - a Human."

Noticing her wolf friend's laid back reaction, she had only moved from trying to drink to looking at the man as well, she blinked owlishly and looked back to the one that was watching them. Gathering her courage, she quietly unfurled her wings; her feathers slicked back to her body tightly in her preparations.

"Gonna fly,
Gonna fly."

Launching off of Zhenya's furry back, she silently flapped her appendages in an attempt to merely skim the water with the hopes of being unnoticed.

Ears pointing straight up and towards the establishment that the human was near, her fur stood up on her back. She knew humans, and human generally were not welcoming of her kind.

She had tried to tell Katya not to do it and that it would be best to go int the woods then come back out in disguise, but her voice would have alerted the human; That course of action was not permitted. She couldn't do anything to stop the owl, if she had without talking then she would have had to tackle the poor thing. Quick motions and flashy movements were out of the question as well.

Being pushed into a corner, she had no choice but to try and move stealthily along the waters edge, her belly brushing the sand softly as she crouched down and crawled her way. Stalking a few meters, she managed to dive into the bushes near another rock pile.

She winced as she landed in her hide away, knowing full well that her dive had made a lot of noise. Sticking her nose out of the other side of the bush, she watched Katya fly closer and closer to the man.

Clearing several bushes, she began back-flapping as she got closer to the man in an attempt to slow down. Failing terribly, she cloudn't stop at the dirt in front of the man; squeaking in realizatrion of what was hapining, she landed roughly on the mans chest.

Wings flailing out around her and beating hardly on his hard chest, her talons gripped onto the cloth of his shirt to try and hold herself up. Giving in and using her beak to grab him as well, she fanned out her tail to make herself lighter.

"What the!?" Feeling the small creature bump into his chest Dally looked down only to notice the Birbs wings were Flapping and beating against his chest. "Hey hey calm down little fella!" grabbing the owls wings only to pin them to it's sides, Dally tilted his head looking at the creature "Strange to see a white owl in these parts." Chuckling the young man ran a finger along the owls head before smiling "easy little fella, nobody is going to hurt you."

"Manhandling! Manhandling!"

She screeched, furiously beating against the man's hands. As she did, she clicked her beak indignantly before hooting as loudly as possible. Why was this man groping her???

Making up her mind quickly, she ruffled her feather up and completely fluffed her body to it's largest size. Stretching her neck out to it's farthest extent, she turned her head 180 degrees into a vertical position and stared at him angrily.

Now, Zhenya was relatively accustomed to her friend's displays of overexaggerated disgust. Drama was her friend's best attribute aside from her voice, and she could work up an acting ploy in any situation.

However, the physical danger was one thing that the wolf would never tolerate. Swallowing her apprehension, she threw herself violently out of the bushes and cleared the distance across the sandy beach and packed dirt ground to the porch.

Raising her hackles and loosing her most viscious growl, she let the fur on her back raise and her tails poof up in her anger ruse. Her ears swiveled forwards as she bared her sharp teeth at the man.

Sensing and hearing Zhenya's approach at the same time, Katya rationalised that since her strong friend was there to protect her, she was rather free to reveal anything.

Screeching momentarily, she tensed up every muscle in her little dense body and made to turn herself to human form. She pulled her head back into it;s normal position and allowed the fog and cloud of transformation to cover her entirely.

When the fog cleared, she stood there as still as possible with the man's hands planted firmly on either side of her small waist. Her silvery blonde hair was swept back in a loose bun with several of her longest locks of hair spiraling down over her shoulders and onto her chest and back.

Her white corset ended just above where his hands lay and her white mini skirt started just below them. Not realising how close they actually were, she shifted her weight onto one leg and let the other one slide out towards him.

Her white leggings brushed up on his and she shook her head lightly, her lilac circle dangle earrings bouncing with the movement.

Listening to the menacing growl that came fro mthe Wolf's throat, Dally raised his gaze only to notice the wolf "whoa..." Backing up slowly on the porch the young man held out one hand to the angered creature "easy." Looking down towards the owl in his other hand then back towards the wolf, Dally brought his extended arm to his side only to grab the hilt of a dagger incase he had to defend himself if the wolf was to leap at him "Is this what your wanting, food?" Looking down towards the owl a second time only to see it transform, Dally gave a surpirsed look only to see it form into a young woman before he noticed he was holding her, causing him to blush darkly as he stared at her a few minutes. "......WITCH!!!" Planting his foot to the womans back only to kick her away, the young man ran into the cabin, slamming the door behind him.

"Oh hey Dally whats with all the yelling?" Tilts head slightly staring at the nervous captain. "sir?"

Staring at Brutus, the young man pointed nervously at the door. "There a crazy witch outside that summoned a hidious looking beast that was fixing to EAT ME!!!!"

"Really? are you sure it wasn't Lan playing another prank on you, just to see you run like a chicken back in here?" Chuckles

"I know what I saw, and it WASN'T Lan!? This witch was the most vile and most hidious looking thing here then Lan!"

"....Really? Discribe this witch to me."

"She had these big yellow eyes I mean eyes that seem to just stare down deep into your very soul."

"Yes go on."

"She also had this most god awful feature too, She had a mustash, teeth like a Walrus, her face was covered with warts and zits, she had a big pointy nose, oh a-and a uni-brow....."

Stares dumbfoundly to Dally's discribtion.
