I can do it in less than 30 seconds if there's a rush,
I can do it in an hour if I'm nervous.

I'm pretty lazy, but I have enough talent so I can get by with minimal practice.
But if I have the time, I love playing, so I'll practice, just not the assigned piece.

I love my band friends. We have so many inside jokes, it's almost disturbing.

um... like last (not sure how many there are), but I just moved here so yeah. Used to be section leader though.

um... gee. Proper weird class I guess.

More than I'm used to.

Yamaha baby! um yes. it's used
7. Hardest song ever played?
To Dance in the Secret Garden. No contest. It went like up the scale and back down in eighteenth notes and then we had to play the same two notes in eighth notes for like half the song. and that's all we did. yeah. it sucked major.
8.Middle or high school?
High school. as of right now. going into 9th grade. But before I moved I was a veteran. I satrted beginner band in 5th grade. Marched my rookie year in 6th. In 7th we did a year of pep band. In 8th we went back to marching. After the season I moved to a bigger school and did concert there. Now I'm a rookie again.-_- I have more exp. than people in my gade. They don't march till 8th.

My sis played Xylaphone by ear. I had tell her what the notes were on the paper. She also played symbols on the parades. when we moved she quit 'cuz the director wouldn't let her play by ear.

My BD's daughter directs a band in the same county as us, and she had a baby this year right before district, so our BD had to direct them. His name is Gene Inglis and his daughter is Gena. So they anounced him as the renouned Mr. Gena Inglis. We call him Gena all the time.

I'm pretty carefull, so mostly only scratches since it's an older instrument. Our BD in my old school would make people who dropped their horn to often carry a hard-boiled egg all day and have it signed by all their teachers.

Well, doesn't happen much here, but at my old school (getting old isn't it) it happened every other day. Ricky was our first trumpet. He sat on his horn and smooshed the bell so bad it wouldn't play. He nearly lost his position cuz of that.

talking about playing a nice peice. like a slow peice should be played with lighter tonguing and stuff but we sometimes tongue too hard. so when he says pet the bunny rabbit he means to pet it lightly and then he uses this retarded voice and shows him slapping the bunny (not real, imainary, hes not that cruel)

uhhh. theres this huuuuge dent in my antiqua wind. we had this talent show way back in 5th grade and my friend was holding my saxophone for me while i put my neckstrap on but then she walked around with it and she slammed into the door xD i was really mad though

a sub was telling mr h (bd) about the sections and how they did and he kept referring to the 'trumpet section' or the (enter instrument here) section. but when he came to altos he said marys section. and he said that my solos were good and i stood out of the crowd..

For concert and symphony I have two back strads. I have a really old Yamaha for marching. Not getting dents on the pretty ones.
7. Hardest song ever played?
Symphonic Metamorphosis by Hindemith. Judges said it was the best live performance they have ever heard... we weren't so sure.

High School

Not really. Brother was in it but wasn't really into it.

All of the mascots of the sections... Clarinets or flutes are hippos. Clarinets also had a toilet seat. The trombones have penguins. The horns have Sal, a green monster. Trumpets got a wooden doorstop named Woody. That is worked into our call... that we refuse to call when the band director is near by because it might be banned.

What they are... they are shiny! Or the trumpet color of black (long story).

Let's see... Trumpet choir, Tri-M (Historian as a junior. Only junior officer), Brass choir, brass quintet, school musical band, jazz band (for the one meting we had it). Trying out for a wind group and a symphony this year and I will be in the school symphony because of my chair.

NOO! This is what I am going to be performing with! The trumpets did have a trumpet once... it was a special trumpet. It was passed down from leader to leader. Laquer was coming off. It was signed by professionals from all over. Sounded horrible, but it was played at the games. One year, someone stole it.

probably 5. I walked into a door at a camp a few week ago.
16.Do you look good while you play your instrument?
Of course. My private lessons teacher, the wife of the local principle trumpet player in the professional symphony, says I have the muscles like him when I play... the ones that she keeps trying to build. It was funny when she kept drawing comparisons between me and her and her husband.
17. Best compliment for your playing?
When the principle player of the local symphony mentioned above told me I had a really good tone quality, really good sight reading ability, good dedication, and all that. I was so happy! This was after the BD tore me apart so I was also laughing inside.

Either the bass flute or my friends's slide trumpets... don't ask.

If I don't want to be chewed out, yes. He makes fun of those that don't and then makes them into an example of what not to do.

Either the tubas for their very... odd... antics and wearing short shorts during Tuesdays or the percussion for almost never being ready.

Summer Schedule:
Mondays: Piano. Local teacher. Has a kid at Northwestern that is a graduate of my school. The kid is on full ride scholarship for music. 1 hour.
Tuesdays: My original teacher... 6 years with him... grad of my school. 1 hour.
Thursdays: The lady I wrote about a few questions before. 1 hour.

Not too much. Just a few people... but I clicked better with the horns. Friends with a lot of them.

I practice because I find practice fun. I make it into a game. Then it is so much fun. And I get to learn new pieces and work on fixing bad habits!

More times than I can count. I have fallen 2 times during marching band. Once was during the show. Happened to one of the staff members when she was in the band. No one noticed and it was during Grand Nats. Still won. So it didn't really matter. Put a smile on our faces. Fallen off chairs... risers... I plan those for people. Put a wobbly chair on a riser! Just kidding... I'm not that mean.

Well My senior year in high school, I bought my own trumpet. i was the drum major. I was trying to conduct the Star Spangeled Banner and fell of of the podium in front of my principal and cursed. I was so mad that I took my trumpet and bashed it into the ground bell first several times.

There are WAY too many to count, my instrument is a school instrument so some of the dents aren't from me. Once i dropped my instrument on my way into the band room, my bd got a little mad at because it didn't work for most of the class that day. It left a pretty bad dent.
