Dude, I'm magnetic? o__O That explains.... um, not much. Other than the clinging phenomenon. Steampunk is, basically, an alternate human history where steam technology is the ultimate - no computers or anything. Often it's a Victorian-era thing, but not always. Check out the Wikipedia entry for more in-depth. If you're into webcomics, I recommend Girl Genius. It's pretty standard steampunk/gaslight stuff, and also awesome. :3
